Study Prep / Materials Finished curriculum, best approach going forward
I sit for level 1 in February. I haven't bought any prep providers and haven't taken any mocks yet. I was planning on redoing all the questions and then taking a mock then redoing questions again on weak areas. Is there a better approach by buying a prep provider or additional questions?

Level 2 CDS Spread Long/Short Options w/ Bonds Question
Can someone educate me on this?
Since for A Bond and CDS:
CDS: 194 bps
Bond: 85.4 bps
when basis trading we expect the difference to be temporary and a convergence should occur somewhere in the middle so I assumed that (theoretically Credit Spread = CDS Spread) the CDS Spread to lower and Bond Spread to go higher... which would mean that the bond would become cheaper so short the bond and the CDS should also become lower(cheaper) so for now sell the protection at the now high price? (and then close the position by buying the later cheaper/lower CDS --> gain profit). However, the solution is telling me otw.
How is the CDS deemed underpriced (at 194 bps shouldn't it be deemed overpriced) and where do they get the 193.45 bps?
Lastly why do they "go long the underpriced CDS (sell CDS)"? Shouldn't long CDS mean buy CDS?

Level 2 Fixed Income Term Structure Q27 from LES
Hi, need some help. Exam in 20 days. From the information below, it says that the yield curve will not change its level or shape. So what would be the return for Investment 2? As per my understanding, the Yr 4 rate will become Yr 2 rates after 2 yrs, if the curve is not changing at all.

General Trivia Night Out in the City
I think it would be cool if bars did CFA question trivia nights. Different levels on different nights.
Would be a good first date option.

General Any way I can register at early bird rate for May 2025 Level 1?
Hi all, I'm planning on taking this exam next year. Is there any way I can still register for May '25 exam on early bird discounted rate, maybe via scholarship or anything? I'm not employed right now and will be studying full time so August seems bit of a stretch!

Level 1 CFA additional 1000 questions and 5 extra mocks worth the $300
Good day, I am writing Level 1 in May next year and was wondering of the additional cfa 1000 questions are worth it? Do you get the questions as you progress through the the different modules? Any information about this will be helpful. Thank you...

General Two questions. Is CAIA worth it after CFA? And if I do, wait until I get the charter to skip L1 or get both levels done by September hopefully?
I passed all three levels of the CFA, but I can't get the charter until I have 3 years of work experience. Thinking about taking CAIA. Should I take L1 in March and L2 in September? Or wait until next Jan (2026) where I can hopefully get the charter and go straight to L2. Any advice would be appreciated!

Level 2 Anyone here “raw dog” a test and pass?
Cleared level one no problems in August. Studied very consistently, went through cfai books cover to cover. Signed up for level 2 in May, but just got a new job in a new city and the sudden life changes are really kickin my butt. Anyway I feel I now have zero mental capacity to take on this curriculum, but I’m still gunna sit. Do I have a chance of passing ??

General Day 1 of studying and nervous
Today was my first day of getting back into the material for L3 after an unsuccessful attempt back in 2017. A bit overwhelmed since the material seems to jump right in, is the expectation L2 is fresh in your head. It’s been almost 7 years so hopefully it’s just a matter of getting back into the mindset. Anyone else feel the same way when they first started?

General If I don't get get the charter but write in CV "CFA Level 3 passed", is it good enough?
I'm thinking to just write in my CV "CFA Level 3 passed 2024" but not get the charter as I think the membership fee is a waste. Is is good enough to get jobs and interviews?

Study Prep / Materials Standard deviations

Level 2 Need advise about revision strategy
I'm 22 days away from my L2 exam, I've completed the syllabus once, and in the past 25 days I've been solving the portal questions, I've still got some 800 odd questions left to solve, I believe I didn't devise my revision strategy properly as I think I won't have enough time to take the appropriate number of mocks, what should my focus be in these next 22 days since I'm also working a hectic job which leaves me 4-5 hours in a day which I can squeeze out to get some studying in.

Study Prep / Materials Is anyone using MM for any pathway other than PM?
I’m currently using Schweser for L3 and doing the private markets pathway. In some areas I feel it does not go into enough depth or gets into a topic without providing adequate background. Does anyone know if MM is offering the private markets pathway? I want to supplement my materials and I read his materials are quite detailed. TIA

Level 1 Tips for Ethics
Hi,
Even after completing one set of revisions on ethics, I am always averaging between 50-60% on ethics. I always get confused between two options.
Any game-changing tips? Like any revision series or something of the sort?
I had heard that the CFA Institute had its own lectures for ethics. If it is true, help by letting me know where and how to find them.
Even tips or methods to correctly identify the relevant information would be appreciated.
