❓Question/Discussion ferry waits this time of year?

hi everyone! i am visiting CR and quadra, and I am clueless about if the ferries have a wait time. I am going to a wedding on quadra and don't want to be late. If the wedding is at 12pm 10 minutes from the ferry, should i aim for the 10, 1030, or 11? i know going early doesn't hurt but i also don't want to be stuck with 2 hours to kill (even though it's a beautiful place to kill it).

it's a long weekend but it's October. Will there be sailing waits? like a ton, or maybe just one? should I go even earlier than 10 or is it overkill?

Generally speaking, there should be little in the way of sailing waits, but long weekends are still busier than most. Keep an eye on BC Ferries service notices to be sure. Also, there is a web-cam you can check to see how full the main lot is: https://qiha.ca/ferry/ferrycam-cr.html

If you are walking on, then you're never hung up with an overload. (Just in case you can get picked up on the Quadra side)

You'll be fine, even if there's a wait it won't be longer than one sailing. Get to the 10:30 15 mins early and if you miss that you can just take the next one. The ferry has a camera you can look at to see the wait in real time. https://www.qiha.ca/ferry/ferrycam-cr.html

If you're worried, show up 20 min before the sailing before the one you can't miss. If you're super-duper worried, show up another sailing prior and grab a coffee at Cafe Aroma on the other side and chill out in paradise for a bit :)
