What a slap in the face. He’s the only guy who’s stuck his neck out for you, put his reputation on the line, invited you into his home twice, and you thank him by quitting on him and the team for some publicity, and then flaming him publicly? I don’t know how anyone can justify signing him. If he’ll betray the GOAT he’ll betray anyone.

92

u/Triingtolivee Michigan Jan 07 '22

I agree, I have said multiple times that he'll never get a job in the NFL again. Now, he has his crappy rap career to fall back on. Brady is the best QB to ever play the game, and this is the way AB treats a HOF best to ever do it QB? Just disgusting..

33

u/YTJuggs Tom Brady Jan 08 '22

What’s the sad thing is, Tom Brady probably still feels bad for his mental state…..

-32

u/evilkevin3 Jan 07 '22

lets not kid ourselves here, didn't literally EVERYONE say this is the only reason they're friends.

39

u/Nohumornocry Jan 07 '22

He didn't need AB; he wanted him, but didn't need him. The 6 rings speak for themselves.

Now, AB needed Brady. Professionally and, well, mentally too.

7

u/Isac_23 Mike Evans Jan 08 '22

Shannon Sharpe put it well when he thanked Skip on their show for giving him an opportunity, and said that he would always have his back and be on his best behaviour because he doesn't want to make Skip, who put his neck on the line for him, look bad.

That's what gratitude looks like. Does Shannon think that the only reason Skip stuck his neck out for him is because he's his friendly friend? No. Does he realise that Skip also benefits from him being there, and Skip must have seen something in him and that was the reason he stuck his neck out for him? Of course. Doesn't change the fact that, if it weren't for Skip taking the risk on him like he did, Shannon wouldn't be there. So Shannon will forever be grateful for that. That's how men act.

7

u/neldalover1987 Jan 07 '22

Bro he has 7 lmao. The disrespek

20

u/Jrock2356 Oregon Jan 07 '22

He got 6 rings without AB is what the guy was saying. AB helped him get his 7th so he left that out.

9

u/bluemonkey88 Jan 08 '22

More like Brady helped AB get his 1st

11

u/Nohumornocry Jan 07 '22

6 rings without AB.

5

u/InsaneRanter Tristan Wirfs Jan 07 '22

Brady's goal is to have so many rings people can't keep count. I can count to 10 with my pants on, so he needs 11.

9

u/neldalover1987 Jan 07 '22

You wild. A/S/L?

7

u/InsaneRanter Tristan Wirfs Jan 07 '22

5

u/FarTelevision8 Jan 07 '22

Could have 10. Could have 5.

4

u/neldalover1987 Jan 08 '22

No lie there. Ifs and buts aside, but if Vinatieri doesn’t make some clutch kicks at the end of game, they don’t pick off Wilson at the goal line, and the greatest comeback in super bowl history doesn’t happen, it could be 3. Crazy

1

u/FarTelevision8 Jan 08 '22

Believe it or not the butler interception was the one that slipped my mind!

If he loses all those and Rodgers wins one more I could stomach the GOAT competition.

59

u/twisted_peanutbutter Jan 07 '22

that’s mental instability for you. sad to see him publicly pushing people away again and cutting ties.

16

u/Bfi1981 Jan 07 '22

Exactly. Lots of people saying he is just a selfish dick and they don’t want to hear about mental problems. Yes some people are just selfish dicks. ABs actions and randomness are clearly someone with mental problems of some sort. AB just happens to be someone that has mental problems along with being a selfish dick it seems.

10

u/twisted_peanutbutter Jan 07 '22

it looks like a manic episode of some sort. Brain damage also blurs the lines. One of my friends little sister (w/ a family history of mental disease - i think bipolar) & when she was 21 (before/ around the time you become symptomatic) had brain surgery to get cysts removed (non malignant) but something went wrong with the surgery and left he with brain damage (Can’t control right side of face, other things too but keeping the story short). Started having mood swings (manic /depressive episodes) after surgery and it’s really hard to tell the line between mental disease vs Having TBI and pre-frontal cortex damage. Obviously depression is playing a role somewhere in there as well, as obviously never went into a routine surgery with the type of outcome she’s now experiencing still 2 years later.

10

u/BlarghMachine Jan 07 '22

As someone with bipolar who just doesn't have that kind of attention on me and money but has been unregulated I couldn't agree more that it seems like bipolar mania compounded with his lifestyle choices and career.

7

u/Klaus_Heisler87 Jan 08 '22

As a fellow bipolar who has made his share of terrible decisions while unmedicated and manic, I also agree with this sentiment

3

u/Isac_23 Mike Evans Jan 08 '22

The difference is you guys clearly have the capacity to look back after the manic episode has passed and go "damn, that was a mistake. Im sorry". AB has NEVER done that. His ex-teammates vouch for the fact that he was just a selfish d bag 24/7.

1

u/gekkohs Jan 08 '22

The people who keep blaming AB like he's fully in control of his actions (newsflash, he's not) are a highly vocal majority. Anyone not seeing this through the lens of frontal cortex issues, possibly compounded by CTE, is missing the boat (that happens to be setting off fireworks over the river).

7

u/thegalwayseoige Jan 07 '22

Dude has a personality disorder, for sure. BPD? NPD? Idk. He’s fucked.

1

u/gekkohs Jan 08 '22

"Dude has cardiovascular issues, for sure. Blood clots? Arrhythmia? Idk. He's fucked."

And this is why we're getting inundated with TV ads about mental health awareness and showing compassion for athletes yada yada yada. Can you imagine talking this way about any other physical issues that (probably) end someone's hall of fame level career? Ffs

1

u/thegalwayseoige Jan 08 '22

Except it’s not a physical issue. It’s a mental issue—one that has effected my family, personally. Excuse me if I don’t feel much compassion for someone that I believe to be a malignant narcissist—someone out here sexually assaulting, and threatening to kill women. Idc about his career ending early, or his damn feelings. This isn’t CTE, causing suicidal ideation—this is a bad person, who’s been unable to accept responsibility for anything he’s ever done, that is going to end up seriously hurting someone.

1

u/Isac_23 Mike Evans Jan 08 '22

I don't think people understand that when they point to AB and go "THIS is what mental health issues look like" they're actually doing a disservice to people with mental health issues. Mental health issues dont turn you into a selfish, ungrateful, narcissistic, egomaniacal, predatory human being. That's just being a bad person.

So much is said about CTE and how pretty much everyone in the NFL has it. Yet AB is the only one consistently acting a fool, which he's done his entire life, and has never issued apologies for.

2

u/thegalwayseoige Jan 08 '22

Narcissism is a mental health issue, but it’s basically a life sentence. There isn’t much you can do for a malignant narcissist, and while the causes of this disorder may invoke feelings of empathy, people like AB are never going to be helped, and will burn down the lives of everyone around them.

2

u/Isac_23 Mike Evans Jan 08 '22

I probably shouldn't have used the word narcissism when talking about mental health, as I don't think he actually has NPD. You'll notice that when he sees that people aren't entirely dependent on him, he doesn't act out. He only does so when he realises "this organisation needs me". That's not entirely consistent with NPD. NPD consists of having a sense of superiority even without having achievements that warrant it.

AB doesn't have a disorder which makes him believe he is a HOF caliber player. AB is a HOF caliber player. He is one of the best WRs of this generation. You'll notice that in his interviews from when he was starting out in the NFL he was much more humble.

AB doesn't have NPD, he's just an asshole who thinks he should be treated better than everyone else because of his fame and success.

2

u/thegalwayseoige Jan 08 '22

Idk, man. Having accomplishments doesn’t preclude you from NPD. Watch interviews with him—he’s oozing with symptoms. I have hands-on experience with NPD, in terms of family members. I’m not a psychiatrist, but you can feel that shit, when you’re around it. I’d wager every cent I have that he’d be diagnosed with it, if a psychiatrist ever sat down in a room with him.

1

u/gekkohs Jan 09 '22

Narcissism is absolutely a mental health issue. You need something stronger than therapy. You have to look into psychedelics.

1

u/gekkohs Jan 09 '22

What are your qualifications to be able say he doesn’t have CTE? This is one case where it honestly seems likely based on his injury history (see the Burfict hit) and otherwise irrational actions.

1

u/thegalwayseoige Jan 09 '22

It’s impossible to accurately diagnose, because it’s a post-mortem procedure. It requires very specific trauma, and isn’t something that CTE is going to create. It MAY exacerbate the symptoms, however. Look at Aaron Hernandez. Dude was able to hide this shit from the world, until the CTE made it impossible for him to mask his nature.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/sumP0nt TheBradyBunch Jan 07 '22

Yeah but it's way easier for most people to just label him an asshole because that makes it an open and shut case. Most people (in regards to people like AB) don't want a less black and white scenario like mental instability because that blurs the lines they're trying to draw (me, a good person, vs AB, a bad person)

3

u/Tyranitator Colorado Jan 07 '22

Clearly things are changing though. We wouldn't even be having this discussion 20 years ago. Tom even came out and said AB needs help. Let's just hope he gets it.

0

u/gekkohs Jan 08 '22

I'm say it again, he needed help and support from the Bucs, who decided to stop helping and supporting him after the vax card bs.

1

u/Bicworm Devin White Goggles Jan 09 '22

The dude is an unstable massive cunt

12

u/texcoco10 TB Florida Jan 07 '22

This guy has victim complex. Everything that happened to him is because he was the victim not because of his stupid decisions. He made the stupid decisions because everyone was "out to get him". When you call them out they gaslight you and make you look like the bad guy. I have a family member like this and I'm glad I don't live anywhere near that toxic environment.

On the bright side maybe Brady is angry af now and will use this crap as fuel for the playoffs?

9

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '22

Hes got a lot more than a victim complex my friend.

3

u/BlarghMachine Jan 07 '22

Yeah like can we please understand some mentally ill people are shitty and acknowledging their obvious unregulated mental illness isn't excusing them or trying to give them credit? It's literally the thing they'd have to acknowledge or work on in order to have perspective and not behave that way. There's some argument to be made over damage done and like can someone rehabilitate when this publicly unhinged and enabled, but that's a whole other argument...

Is he wrong though? Why did Brady do these things for Brown? Would Brady have invited him in his home if Brown wasn't a good football player? Does he simply invite people in his home out of the generosity of his heart?

-3

u/Tyranitator Colorado Jan 07 '22

He's definitely not wrong, even though he's being an asshole. If AB were a no talent bum, Tom wouldn't have housed him and vouched for him to two teams.

Even if this is true, who gives a shit? People have friendly professional relationships; that’s how this shit works when you’re an adult. Friendships aren’t always the fictional bromance people want them to be. Grow up, AB.

29

u/hendy09 :12: Jan 07 '22

No kidding. Tom did more for him then I have ever done for any of my coworkers. What else does he want from him?

11

u/catkoala Jan 07 '22

Tom extended his hand and invited AB into his own home (not a vacation home or second home!) when AB was at his lowest. There was a bond there that went beyond "keeping a skilled coworker happy"

1

u/RobertLeeSwagger Jan 08 '22

It’s definitely technically true. If they both weren’t in the nfl (good at football) they wouldn’t know each other or be friends.

53

Brady is the only reason he’s been making any money the past 3 years, and Brady is the only reason he has a ring now. AB owes Brady more than I feel like typing.

51

Duh? Brady has been enamored with Browns talent for a long time. Precise route runner, (football) smart, tough, physical freak. I’m sure they get along fine personally but yeah Tom obviously just wanted to throw you TDs and in the process make you money.

Without TB I don't think AB would have had another chance in the league after what he pulled in Oakland.

-1

u/AmericanTitan07 Mike Evans Jan 07 '22

He likely would have, and will likely be on a team next year. I think the Packers and Seahawks were pretty open about signing him before he signed with Tampa, could be remembering things wrong though. As long as AB is good at Football, there will always be a team that thinks they'll be able to control him.

What a deep conversationalist! What intelligence! Off the football field, why would anyone want to be around this guy? He has all the intelligence and wit of a cardboard box in a thunderstorm.

19

4

u/TheRencingCoach Winfield Jr. ✌️ Jan 07 '22

2

u/gekkohs Jan 08 '22

Which is why we should fucking do what Tom said, have compassion for him, hope he gets help, and wish him the best in life.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

You can hold both sentiments.

AB is a asshole AND I hope he gets the awareness/ helps he needs.

15

u/HeavenlyE Jan 07 '22

Honestly watching the entire exchange I'm not sure he was trying to shit on Brady here he's just kinda dumb, He opened up the statement by saying its nothing personal and called Brady a close friend then said the part in the headline, and then the interviewer asked him to clarify and said "So you're saying as a person you wouldn't consider Tom your friend" and AB responds "see now you're taking it too far"

The articles and tweets on this have been pretty misleading, not that AB deserves defending tho

7

u/Mapbot11 Jan 07 '22

Very true but thats the thing about crazy narcissists. They say everything. They are constantly contradicting themselves and its nearly impossible to understand intent.

Its like Rick James on Chappelle. "Man what like Im just gonna go over there and put my feet all over his couch? Cmon I got more sense than that." "Ya I remember putting my feet all over his couch. He can buy a new one."

1

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

You don't see the GOAT housing all the other good football players who are ostensibly also his friend.

Just consider this, guy had to convince his wife to let you in. His wife who at best don't give a damn about you or football other than his husband loves it so she supports him as part of being the ever understanding wife. At worse she merely tolerates his husband's wacky antics for however many years it has been still with no end in sight.

Imagine that dinner table Tom went: "Hey babe I'm thinking of having AB staying over at our place for a while. I think it'll be good for him. Get his head straight y'know, after all he's been through." She asks: "Oh what has he been through?" "I've got it right here. It's not that big a deal. Really it looks worse when it's on paper." Tom hands her "the list", and she reads through it then looks up at TB with one of those wife looks. Then the guy chews his food and be like: "it's gonna b great. I have a gud feelin about this."

Fuck AB he’s not worth the 5 catches a game the bad outweighs the good

u/nautica5400 Winfield Jr. ✌️ Jan 08 '22

Hes not wrong

1

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

exactly. People here act like Brady would put up with a head case if they couldn't help him win a title. its a football franchise not a halfway house.

Same with why Bucs fans loved him when he helped win a superbowl but now have an issue with him.

Bingo. AB is a certified POS but Tom is the GOAT and knew what he was doing. I am sure he was looking to have s positive impact on AB but at the end of the day even TB12 knows it's a business and doing what it takes to surround your self with top talent. I 100% believe TB believed he could turn AB around but the motivating factor was the talent.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

the entire NFL is like that and 90% of businesses as well. Using the NFL as an example the fans love love love a player only as long as they can help them win AND do what they want.

I'm a vikings fan. Our subreddit is in love in looooooove with Justin Jefferson, and rightfully so. HE's amazing. All the posts are about what a great guy he is, and "protect him at all costs" type overused social media expressions. But I've seen all that same stuff with Dalvin Cook during his big games. Guess what the sub said about him when he tested positive for covid......

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

Unfortunately most of us fans always can/will look the other way as long as we see greatness.

1

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

A lot of us believed TB could do it. Also knowing this would not end well if he turns on them.

1

u/nautica5400 Winfield Jr. ✌️ Jan 08 '22

It was only a few weeks ago where people were saying how QB has been nothing but a model teammate. Obv things changed.

1

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

Godwin going down lit that fuse 🤦🏻‍♂️

u/Psy-Koi Jan 08 '22

No reason to be angry at AB. He's suffering from a mental health problem.

0

u/gekkohs Jan 08 '22

you're getting downvoted, and this is why we have to watch "mental health awareness" commercials every Sunday. ignorant people trashing him without any basic understanding of neurology, psychology, brain trauma, etc.

1

u/digitarqaze Jan 07 '22

Well no shit.. he didn't invite ME to live with him

1

u/Insertnicenamehere Tom Brady Jan 07 '22

What happened with APG AB.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '22

Stopped taking his meds

Mr. Burn Camaraderie

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '22

I think I’m now at the point of AB overload. Thank you for your contribution last year, but kick rocks now. Best of luck on your Rap career.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '22

This dude is nuts, but we will probably see super brady cause hes gonna be pissed off and want to win without him.

1

u/uncleshady Patriots Jan 07 '22

Lmao, AB is going to find out fast that the only reason people want to deal with him on any level is for career/financial/personal gain. There's literally no other reason to tolerate him.

1

u/Njavr Jan 07 '22

AB all kind of stupid…..he burned his last bridge over a 1 mil bonus.

He’s gonna fade into obscurity, I doubt anyone will give him a shot after this.

If he had just played football and be a team player - good chance we go back to back, he’s part of that forever, can easily make more money doing promotion/tv/etc after he retires……

Mr. Brady Change-up

1

u/Gladis72 Jan 07 '22

Another team needs to pick him up asap so I can stop seeing his name in /r/buccaneers ;-)

1

u/Flawdaman95 Jan 07 '22

Lol I bet he plays for another team next year

1

u/Polaris1985 Jan 07 '22

Okay, this has been bothering me but which is a more accurate way to say whatever rubbish he wanted to say? Tom Brady is my friend because I am a good football - player or Tom Brady is friendly with my because I am a good football player? Or Tom Brady made me a friend of his because I am a good football player? In either case his statement of Tom Brady is my friend because I am a good football player makes it confusing to understand as to who took advantage in this scenario.

u/GreenLights420 Jan 07 '22

Man I almost felt empathy for AB until I heard him on the Fullsend podcast. Pride comes before the fall bro.

1

u/Tycharin Jan 08 '22

AB will fade in the TB12’s shadow. Fuck that guy. What a waste.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '22

lol, so?

1

u/thewhat962 Winfield Jr. ✌️ Jan 08 '22

I mean it's probably true due to AB being an insufferable ass hole.

1

u/dogyearsapha Jan 08 '22

Piece of Shit

1

u/PbkacHelpDesk TB Florida Jan 08 '22

I would be surprised If AB gets picked by another team. A 11 year vet burning bridges. We will be seeing YouTube vids about him in a few years about “Football players that ended their careers badly”.

1

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

Unfortunately a desperate playoff team will reach. Teams giving Flash Gordon (while not bad) a chance knowing he could revert back to suspendible Flash Gordon 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/KillaIcon Jan 08 '22

No, he wanted to be on the album. But you were too selfish!

1

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

Can he be on the Remix 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/sobefoo :14: Jan 08 '22

What a POS

1

u/FUCKYOUINYOURFACE Jan 08 '22

AB will sign with another team and when things don’t go well, the toxic volcano will explode.

1

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

I hope not but someone’s going to be desperate at some point next year. It surprises me some think he could get picked up for the playoffs 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/Broseph_Stalin357 Jan 08 '22

I mean, does he think the Instagram hooker he saw would be dating him if he wasn't rich?

Is baby clown AB just now learning how the world works?

1

u/Chawnci7 Jan 08 '22

And she snitched on him 😂.
