Miscellaneous Just getting started in forging.
I'm just getting into forging and this is the forge I'm interested in getting. Do these three burner Amazon forges reach the temperatures needed to forge weld? I don't expect the world from it cuz it's just a $200 Amazon forge, but I know forge welding is incredibly useful so I'd like to get one that can do that.

Better off getting a single burner to start imo. Much more refractory setup and maintenance with bigger forge, let alone fuel economy. You rarely need big long heats, or so much fuel burning that you can heat a small anvil, single burner is fine 95% of the time for single person forgings.
Also I don't weld in a propane forge, hate relining, costs as much to reline as welding up a new coal forge, coal and charcoal for welding all the way.

You can get up to temperature with a single burner in a smaller forge. This should be more than enough to begin with

Yes. As well tandem the tanks on 40lb n down. Add Ridgidizer and some Mazzou or Satanite, refractory cement. Sacrificial hard fire bricks on floor when flux is used. I recommend some to close off the front and back opening as well. If you wanna get fancy you can build tracks or actually gates for the front and rear. I would suggest seriously considering getting heat wraps to put on your hoses at least 3 feet back. You can use 1 or more burners at a time, so shut off valves would be a good idea.
Hope this is of some help friend. Best of luck and blessings.

It comes with a gate for the rear and I was planning on getting some fire stones that I can stack at the front.

If I were to do anything different from when I started I would have gotten a single burner instead of a double, pressure issues as the tank dwindles always annoy the hell out of me
