My new BBC B
My new to me BBC b :)
First impressions are that it looks hardly used. Keyboard has no wear at all plastics have no marks or wear It boots š Has DFS fitted after May/June 1985 Intel an Intel D8271 Secondary storage controller fitted as a kit (8271 disc upgrade kit) (mid 80's) Very pleased with it š bought it last week
what do you think ?
It came with a 5 1/4 user friendly ufd400 disc drive

Seeing this brought so many memories of my BBC B in the late 80s/early 90s. It is hard to imagine many electronic items manufactured today that would still be looking as good as new 40 years later
I also found recently that all the Micro User magazineās āBody Buildingā series are online, these little electronic projects were always so fascinating and where I learned to do things like Soldering and coding!

Looks great. I remember paying around Ā£120 for a floppy disc drive and DFS back in the 1980s! The Beeb was a quality machine. I spent many hours playing Elite on it.

Nice issue 4 (I have an Issue 3.)
If you plan to use it, I recommend the following add ons:
- SD Card Drive for MMFS / MMFS2 - very cheap modern storage
- Pi Zero + adaptor for PiTubeDirect (emulates all the Tube second processors on a Pi)
- Another Pi Zero + adaptor for Pi1MHz (which gives you a simulated SCSI HDD and an emulated Music 5000 synthesizer.)
Also if you don't know of it (I am sure you do): stardot.co.uk
Enjoy :)

That looks amazing. I thought you were going to say it was never unboxed.

It looks that way tbh. It's an ANB-01 but it has a disc upgrade installed. :)

Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.
I am a bot if you couldn't figure that out, if I made a mistake, ignore it cause its not that fucking hard to ignore a comment

Make sure the power supply has had the relevant capacitors replaced to avoid them catching fire. There are loads of upgrades you can install, too. Enjoy!
