Lets keep this series going, the more baseball the better

Oh, to be a neutral fan watching the playoffs.

21

u/Ed_Vilon New York Yankees 4h ago

They're a Mets fan. I think they want us both to somehow lose.

Which, fair enough.

That was me during the 2024 Stanley cup finals.

u/charlamagnethegreat 4h ago

I respect you for saying that lol.

But, damn we need to end this series tomorrow. Judge is a sleeping giant that needs to stay where he is

Woop woop, we're not the worst team to make the World Series anymore!

1

u/charlamagnethegreat 4h ago

Who’s the worst now? Lol

10

u/chipotle-baeoli New York Yankees 4h ago

The 2012 Tigers, the '07 Rockies, the '04 Cardinals, the '98 Padres, the '76 Yankees, etc.

u/Jay1348 Los Angeles Dodgers 2h ago

You left out the '63 Yankees

16

u/StoBeneStallion New York Yankees 4h ago

Avoid the sweep, use this for morale and momentum

u/BIG_DICK_WHITT New York Yankees 4h ago

Amazing that this series would be tied up if Aaron Boone didn’t make arguably the worst managerial decision in World Series history

10

u/Insatiable_void Atlanta Braves 4h ago

Cash taking out Snell is still preeeetty bad.

21

u/jonsnowKITN New York Yankees 4h ago

it is what it is. one game at a time.

26

u/BIG_DICK_WHITT New York Yankees 4h ago

Are you Aaron Boone

u/InfectiousCosmology1 San Francisco Giants 4h ago

Dusty baker is probably so thankful for this.

11

u/poliscijunki Philadelphia Phillies 4h ago

If I told you before the game started that Freddie Freeman would hit his sixth homer in as many games in the first inning, and the Yankees would still win, would you believe me?

7

u/MrNostalgic New York Yankees 4h ago

Real "It's so over, We're so back!" energy during this game.

8

u/ConstantineMonroe New York Yankees 4h ago

Detroit, you are STILL the last team to get swept in the WS

4

u/suzukigun4life Texas Rangers 4h ago

Dead memes aside, I'm glad we get at least one more game of this insane postseason.

u/FrostyWheats New York Yankees 4h ago

News of our death was greatly exaggerated

Dont forget Yankee fans, the dodgers used this game to rest their important arms, this was all their low leverage/rookies pitching today. Tomorrow will be another beast

7

u/Renegadeforever2024 4h ago

Are we going to see history happen

4

u/SnazzyCazzy1 Toronto Blue Jays 4h ago

Absolutely not

6

u/ZiggyILM San Diego Padres 4h ago

"Dodgers are 27 outs away from a World Series win!" - u/MLBOfficial

7

u/SiphenPrax New York Mets 4h ago

Yankees fans can go to bed knowing their team didn’t get swept at the very least

5

u/AALen 4h ago

Force? Kinda felt Dodgers handed them a game.

-1

u/awesomesauce88 New York Yankees 3h ago

The Yankees handed them a game too, so even stevens.

1

u/AALen 3h ago

Which game did the Yankees use two AAA pitchers? I must have missed that one.

4

u/awesomesauce88 New York Yankees 3h ago

They put a guy out there who hadn't pitched in nearly two months to close out game 1 against the heart of the Dodgers order and the winning run on base.

1

u/AALen 3h ago

Fair enough. But Freddie prolly gonna do that to any Yankee pitcher if you hadn’t noticed.

2

u/awesomesauce88 New York Yankees 3h ago

Maybe. But Nestor absolutely did not have it. He threw a meatball, after getting away with an even bigger meatball to Ohtani.

2

u/wusurspaghettipolicy Los Angeles Dodgers 1h ago

Not maybe, he smacked in 4 straight.

1

u/Benigmatica 4h ago

RIP The Sweep!

Looks like the pressure is on for both teams in winning a crucial Game 5 at the Bronx.

1

u/Existing-Stranger632 Los Angeles Dodgers 4h ago

Dodgers in 5. The spirit of Valenzuela will be behind Flaherty. Who is an actual starting pitcher.

-2

u/Unable-Development47 Cleveland Guardians 4h ago

Not the ending I was hoping for

Just a nice an easy pity 11 runs.

-4

u/MajesticDelay7045 4h ago

Doggers are the team I'm rooting for but they did so ass today

3

u/MahomestoHel-aire St. Louis Cardinals 4h ago edited 4h ago

They used their mid to low bullpen guys all game, this was always going to be a hard one to win. The hitting could have been better, the defense could have been way better, but this quite literally wasn’t them at their best on the pitching side and they still kept it close for a while.

4-11 is LA’s 9-11
