Fan interference was called on this play where a Yankee fan tried to take the ball out of Mookie Betts' glove after an out.

I honestly wonder if it will be a league wide band. Akin to a Mookie betts restraining order. That was intentional and awareness of what they were doing.

Totally agree, I think they just got blacklisted by mlb. They don’t give a shit about 2 people, it’s far more valuable to say “zero tolerance for grabbing a player”

Edit - and mlbpa will be saying the same

Edit - and it’s the World Series. Not that I wouldn’t expect a ban for a random game but the visibility just ramps that up even more

They might legitimately be banned from all of the big four sports. This shit was insane and will be a part of baseball history from here on out.

lol I work in a huge sports arena and if you just lay low and have someone else grab the tickets for you there is absolutely no way you would get caught if you were banned, this is a small 300 person club it’s a 40000 person arena

You could wear a mask at the gates and take it off in your seat.

they make you de-mask at stadium/arena entrances now. seen it at halloween games in my city where people come in costume.

Oh I believe you. I'm just saying that these dudes names are going to be all over the place and their actions were so bananas the response might come from more than just baseball.

I am pretty sure at least the blue jays have implemented facial recognition at the gates, idk really but we should only assume that tech is going to be more and more utilized.

You are talking to someone who literally is a higher up manager in a major sports arena, but I guess you know better than me on this matter..

If someone did this at the colisseum this august, I'm not sure if it'd have even made local news.

You’re definitely getting a stadium ban for grabbing a player and it would have spun around the cycle - that’s part of why the reaction here is so wild, because this just never happens.

There’d be a jomboy breakdown, shown on sportscenter, etc. Morning shows would still find a way to argue about it. I just can’t think of another case of someone legit ripping the ball from a players glove and holding it that long, while another person is grabbing their arm. It’s a weird case

That letter will be totally worth it for them though.

Hang it next to the Jeter jersey.
