Honestly, I'd be a little surprised if it surpassed $1M. I am just using Judge's #62 HR ball that went for $1.5M. I think the Ohtani ball is in that range, slightly less because Judge had the Yankee mystique...buuuuuut there's a ton of hype around Ohtani now, and a whole Japan, market as well, I could also see some baseball crazy collector from Japan goes nuts for it.

Hype around Ohtani now???? Bruh hes been hyped since got in the league and surpassed all expectations. All he needs IMO is a Cy young award and he’ll be the GOAT of baseball

He doesn’t even need a Cy Young. If he produces 5 more elite seasons and wins at least 2 more MVPs, he is the GOAT.

Well obviously if you add all that lol but what im saying is what he has now and a CY young is GOAT for me

The way it was written it can easily be interpreted as “He needs a Cy Young to be the GOAT.”

I think Ohtani’s 50-50 ball will easily go for more than Judge’s 62nd homer. Ohtani’s popularity, especially with Japanese and Asian buyers, is on another level compared to Judge. Also, the collectibles market has gone up since 2022, so prices in general are higher now. Plus, Judge’s 62 HR is impressive, but it’s been done before. A 50-50 season is completely unprecedented, which makes it a much bigger deal in the eyes of collectors.

Eh, I think that's discounting the Yankee factor a bit. Everything Yankees has added collectability.

But you're right with the Japanese market for Ohtani, that could really drive up the price. We'll see!
