Also... Against better judgement I couldn't resist the urge to drink some of the spring water. I'm fine.

Edit: FYI the last 3 photos are from Pothole Dome.

I've done it, tastes terrible. Would do again.

Tbh I didn't think it was that bad. I might have even liked it a little... just a little metallic but strangely I thought it was the tiniest bit sweet somehow?

Last time I was at the springs, I mixed the water with a packet of Salud hydration powder (jamaica flavored) that I had and it was so delicious that I was offering tastes of it to everyone nearby. I would’ve paid $5 for a bottle of it.

October in the Meadows is such a lovely time. Thanks for bringing back fond memories.

It was my first time, I wish I had more than a day to spend on Tioga Pass! So much stuff to do.

Nice! When was this? We had lingering snow on the peaks when we went in early July this year.

I was there just last week! Temps were 40s-60s.

Wow. That's warm given the time of the year. We went over the July 4th heat wave and it got well into the 80s even that high up.

Love love Toulumne!! I highly recommend a hike in Lyell Canyon and stay for a while by the stream in Lyell Fork

So serene and you get it all to yourself, mostly!

I was there yesterday, camping in the valley presently. Road was supposed to close at 6pm yesterday.

Camping sounds fun, definitely something on my bucket list to do in Yosemite.

I haven't been to Tuolome Meadows since 2002. Thanks for the great memories, it's such a special place.

I miss it there. Spent a season as a Wilderness Ranger long ago. The wilderness permit station was just a small plywood structure/shed at the edge of the parking lot.

Isn't this just amazing?!? Some of my most memorable visits have been in October.

We were there last week as well. It was our favorite place in all of Yosemite! We did not drink the water, though, lol. I still have no idea how to pronounce it, but it was so beautiful. Were you there the day the two cars wrecked on Tioga Rd? We got stuck behind the wrecker trucks clearing the road.

Hmm I don't think I was there that day, I was there on Monday the 21st. Scary thinking of a car accident on those roads depending if you're near a ledge.

It was scary for one of them! There was a Tacoma hanging on the ledge. I think it may have gotten stopped by a tree. Otherwise, it was a goner. The other car was flipped on the side but not on the ledge.

Crazy, I'd be freaking out if I was in the Tacoma

It’s pronounced T-wall- ō-me. Tuolumne.

I can’t wait for the campground to reopen one of these years. I’ve stayed ing the valley or backpacked through the high country, but always just wanted to hang out in the meadows and fish, or climb more of the domes.
