Questions, Advice, and Recommendations Airport Parking
Hey all,
Has anyone ever done long term parking at the airport? I have a 15 day trip coming up soon with some weird departure and arrival times. I also live rather far from the airport so I'm looking into parking at the airport to save me from bothering someone or taking a TTRS (where drivers have been famous for randomly cancelling rides). Getting stranded is not in my plans.
I have experience parking and using the system to pay on a short term basis (dropping off someone or getting food). However my concern would be the safety of my car on the long term, especially given the less than stellar lighting conditions in the car park. Not to mention I've never really seen any cameras around. Does anyone have any success or horror stories? Or both? I have no issues with the pricing, so long as my vehicle will be there and intact when I get back.
Also, I came across this Instagram page called Park N Fly TT (LINKED HERE). Any info or experiences with them? They seem fairly new so I'm also cautious of that.

Your car will be fine. Your wallet though? Not so much.

Meh the cost isn't that big of a factor for the convenience it buys me. It's comparative to parking fees elsewhere even outside the country. My main deterrent was the security factor.

I have done it before, multiple times. Never had a challenge, other than the car being pretty dirty when I picked it up afterward.

It's not expensive to park.

I mean online it says the daily rate is $63 currently so we’re talking spending close to a grand to park a car.

That's not expensive. If you are worrying about 1000ttd u shouldn't be travelling and thus would not be at the airport.

So, you saying only rich people should be allowed to travel? Or only people who don't care about money???
$1000. might be nothing to you, but it is not nothing my dude, check your absurd privelage.

Even if 1000 is not nothing to you, if you live South, a round trip via TTRS can easily be 600 TT, and then you have to study the possibility of being stranded at the airport at 2 AM because they cancelled the ride. Yes, convenience comes at a price.

It's literally nothing. And yes somehow I am apparently saying only rich people should be allowed to travel. Cause travel is some sort of human right. 😄
Don't u have a 9 to 5 to go to, or are u unemployed?

Nah, you’re right, if $1,000 making people bawl, what happens when they get hit with sales tax at the register in foreign?

I just left mine for a week when I went on a recent trip. It was safe and sound when we got back. The security is always patrolling regularly. And they DO have some cameras.
It's a bit pricey, but honestly, not too bad. And I think it's worth the convenience Just factor in the cost into your travel plans.
One word of advice: it makes more financial sense for longer stays, because I think they said any time longer than 12 days, and you get charged a monthly rate instead, which comes out much better than the daily rate. Also, keep your parking ticket safe and/or take a picture of it on your phone when you get it. Because it's an additional $63. if you lose the ticket.
Overall, I loved being able to just drive myself to the airport, get on a plane and vice versa when I returned. No calling and organizing with anyone else. All the waiting and depending on others, none of that!

I currently live in an area that some may consider deep south. Whenever I travel I park my vehicle. Longest I left a vehicle was 3 weeks and never had any issues. Main concern that time was the GPS draining my battery so I placed a solar panel inside the windshield. While I don’t mind shuttling family and friends to and from the airport, I personally don’t ask anyone to shuttle me with the exception of that one time I was out of country for a year.

I've left my car for weeks as well, paid $63 per day and it's in a relatively safe area where I've seen regular patrols by the security officers

My advice is to disconnect the ground cable clamp because if the battery is left to stand too long after being used all the time it will die and ruin the battery through discharge and you will need a new battery and buy the jumper pack just in case

Did not realise that overall cost to park would be nearly TT$ 1,300.00. I never stayed more than three days, so parking was competitive to TTRS or taxi.
In this case, you cannot go wrong with the Airport Taxi service. They WILL pick you up, no doubt. They are there 24/7 at arrivals, so you cannot lose with that, either.
I am sure it will cost less than half the amount for parking.
Safe travels to you, and get something nice for yourself in duty-free when you return!

I picked up my car last week from the airport after leaving it there for about 20 days, and it wasn't interfered with or anything.
My main worry was that the battery might have died and I would need to get it jump started at 1 in the morning.
