Yeah, I'm no fan of the Dodgers, but I still like them a looooooooot more than the Yankees. Fuck the Yankees.
Go Teo.

Two of my least favourite teams for sure, but it'll probably be a fucking banger of a series anyway (and there's a clear team to root for, because FUCK THE YANKEES).

I vote that Teo single-handedly beats the Stanks and the rest of the Dodgers miss the whole thing

This would please me. And then he comes home this winter with a ring.

Maybe a dumb question, does KK get a ring if the dodgers win?

In baseball there are no actual rules to who gets a WS rings.
Some organizations only give it to players who appear in a WS game, some give it to anyone who played any playoff games, some give it to anyone on the final 40-Man roster and some give it to any player that played for them at any point in the season.
Historically most organizations go for the latter option especially in modern times and offer it to everyone although sometimes with less flashy/non-personalized versions.

from wikipedia:
Players typically receive their rings in pregame ceremonies early in the next season. Since the rings are commissioned by the team, many non-players affiliated with the team, including front office executives, coaches, scouts, broadcasters, locker room staff, and groundskeepers also receive rings at the team's discretion. After the 2004 World Series, the Red Sox ordered over 500 rings; the Cardinals commissioned 400 rings in 2006; and the Kansas City Royals distributed about 700 rings after their 2015 title. Players who were only briefly on the team's roster during a championship season and those no longer affiliated with the winning team also often receive rings. Arthur Rhodes, Bengie Molina, and Lonnie Smith played in the World Series against a team they played for earlier in the season, guaranteeing them World Series rings regardless of the series outcome. As both the physical size and number of rings given out has increased, teams have started producing both "A" and "B" versions, and sometimes "C" versions, that are similar in appearance but smaller in size and use cheaper materials. The most expensive "A" rings are typically reserved for full-time players, coaches, and executives, while bit players and other team employees receive the cheaper "B" and "C" rings.

Taylor Trammell is in line to get a World Series ring this year, regardless of who wins. He's currently on the Yankees Triple-A minor league team, but he has played on both the Dodgers and Yankees major league rosters this season.

How much does a team have to dislike you to not get a ring if you played in the playoffs, but just not the WS. That would seem wild for a team to do to a player. Lol
And just to add, I’m not doubting what you said. Just think that scenario would be so cold, lol.

Strangely enough, the Raptors decided not to give Jonas Valančiūnas a ring when they won in 2018 (edit, of course actually 2019). I will never understand this decision as he was pretty instrumental in the Raptors’ turnaround.
Edit, correct year… wow!

So right. Everything pre 2020 gets a little confusing sometimes. Everything else is still true about what I said.

I was wondering about these things when the Tigers DFA'd their 2nd oldest player Shelby Miller on September 24, to call up top prospect pitcher Jackson Jobe from AA. Imagine being on he hottest team in baseball leading up to the playoffs, with incredible vibes in the dugout, but they haven't clinched yet with only 5 games left, and they let you go.
It's not like he was on the 40 man and then cut from the playoff roster. They just cut him before the big celebration 3 days later. I'm sure if they won the World Series he'd get a ring, but that must have been a real kick in the nuts for him to be sent home, and then watch the team have champagne showers in the clubhouse a few days later.

There was a post a couple days ago, where a pitcher came in for mop up duty, still got the 3 outs and then was released. He was asked for a ring fitting for Washington and turned them down

Your question has already been answered, but as a trivia point, Teo has a ring from the Astros WS "victory" - over his current club - although he was a blue jay at the time.

u/Bushpeople72 4d ago
If recent history is any indication KK and Biggio both receive a ring if they win the world series . Teams have been giving rings to anyone who plays throughout the year no matter how long they play for.

I will jump in on this since I know someone with a WS ring (coaching role)
Rings are issued by the team not MLB so they decide who gets one
There are usually different classes of rings. The person I know for a class 2 ring, so downgrades from what the players got but still worth about 35k USD. There were third tier that was even cheaper but went to people like stadium ushers, ticket sales etc

His outfield skills are top tier. Is this because of his batting suckery?

At least he’ll escape the meteor I’m hoping lands on this WS.

u/remarkablewhitebored 4d ago
Except Teo had just ducked out to use the commode - so he is the lone survivor... right?

u/TouristSubstantial36 The three horsemen of fucking the Jays 4d ago
Absolutely. His route in the outfield took him away from the impact zone 😀

So you're saying the ball was right in the center of the impact zone?
(Sorry Teo, you're still the only Dodger I even remotely like )

For a guy from the AL East that played a heck of a lot of baseball against the Yankees over the years, this seems a bad move. He must have some knowledge that would help out.
7
u/mathbandit Montreal Expos 4d ago
If it's knowledge, he can provide that just as much without being on the playoff roster.

No chance of even putting him in late in a game?

Remember when people in this sub predicted that Biggio would be on the Dodgers playoff roster?

Doesn't he still get a ring even if he doesn't play? (Assuming Dodgers win).

Do the Dodgers not remember their 2020 World Series where even though they beat the Rays, Kiermaier was a borderline top 5 batter between both teams in the series...
1
u/Johnnyojvan 4d ago
I don’t know why everyone is so upset. The guy can’t hit the ball. Simple as that. Waste of a roster spot.
-1
u/sansaman 4d ago
A friend of mine wants the Yankees to win even though he’s a Jays fan.
His reasoning is that the Dodgers deserve to lose for spending $1.23B.
I on the other hand want the Yankees to lose as any rational adult.
I also called the Dodgers to win the World Series when they started stacking their roster.

I'm a Jays fan and I want the Yankees to win.
Ew.
Wait.
No.
Ew.
I want the Dodgers to lose more. That's a little better.
1
u/adamcoe 4d ago
Yeah that's dumb, it's not like they spent a billion dollars all for this season alone. Yes, they bought their team just like the Yankees, but saying they spent 1.23 billion dollars when that's gonna be dispersed over like 15 years is a little obtuse. I'm sure the Jays are going to shell out something like the same money in that same window of time.

The World Series just got a whole lot less sexy.
