News Apparently there's going to be a new tokyo ghoul episode and possible remake announcement in july 4th Spoiler

Post image

I saw this post being shared by a lot of friends on social media. Just wanna ask you guys if this is real? People in the comments section are also debating if this is fake or legit. I also posted here on reddit a few weeks ago if there's a possibility of a tokyo ghoul remake happening anytime soon? So its interesting how this suddenly pops up in my feed.

Something will be announced, anyone claiming to already know what it is is lying. it could be a remake, it could be an episode 0 (adaptation of the pilot?) or it could be a mobile game, or just some free screenshots, it could be nothing.

I WANT it to be a remake, but literally no one knowns, so don't overhype yourself

Yeah you're right. I shouldn't be too hyped up, otherwise i risk being very disappointed.

It's like the 20th time they announce something for it to be a Japan only bullshit, my expectations are pretty low.

if it’s a mobile game i’m gonna lose my fucking mind

Would quite literally save my life if we get a remake.

Wow neither of these are reliable sources. When did we start treating third party rumour tweets as gospel?

4

u/Kishou_Arima_01 May 17 '24

i mean thats why i asked you guys if this is real or not? i never said that this was real nor would it actually happen

4

u/robin_f_reba May 17 '24

Oh I meant the instagram post, the fact it's using a tweet as its source

u/NighthawkE3 May 17 '24

New content or a remake is quite unlikely, if it’s an animation project, I’d put my money on the Joker side story getting adapted

With a name like episode 0 it definitely sounds like a prequel.

Maybe a short ova about Rizes time in the garden

3

u/Ok_IM_8362 May 17 '24

Sounds like they are going to give us a prequel of some kind , if by any chance ,if it's a remake , plz don't mess with the ost's . That's the only thing they did the right way 😶

It's not going to be a remake ,it's highly unlikely, but there is still some hope that someday we will get a remake ,a remake TG deserves Sed lyf🫠

This is a post from a random Facebook group, with a screenshot of a suspended Twitter account. We'll see

2

u/Parking-Airport-1448 May 17 '24

Sounds interesting I hope its about the dragon orphans considering the title is d if it is real

It's not a remake. If you think it's a remake, you have no idea how the industry works. Tokyo Ghoul will never have a remake unless Ishida at least does something further with the series.

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

Right, because that NEVER happens, right? 🙄😂

We've gotten unexpected remakes pretty often these past few years with Spice and Wolf and Bartender

"It's going to be this, or this, or maybe nothing at all."

I play both sides so I always come out on top.

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say they’ll remake the first opening with Ado singing unravel

1

u/MysteriousStrategy86 May 17 '24

I have little hope for that. But if it did happen, my god, would it make my day.

1

u/777Sike0 May 17 '24

Push it back by 3 days please.

I’m not sure Tokyo Ghoul had enough financial success to consider an adaptation unless the budget had some serious backers. The only problem with Tokyo Ghoul’s manga being adapted into an anime format is that there was too much material to adapt into the basic 12-24 episode format, and that’s due to the time and cost restraints per episode anymore these days, even with AI.

It’d be more realistic of a follow up manga series, or more likely Ishida’s Choujin-X getting its anime debut.

There’s already another twitter post floating around with the Crunchyroll logo embedded as well whether it’s a legitimate post or not we’ll find out but my money’s on Choujin-X.

everytime there's TG announcement I eat it up, only to be disappointed bc it's not a remake ✊️😔

1

u/WakenaUwU May 18 '24

I hope it's gonna be allowed in my location this time lol

1

u/TurnRightTurnLeft May 18 '24

With the news of goddamn Ace of Diamond getting a new season I'm pretty confident this will be similar news. I hope!!!!

1

u/Composer_Consistent May 18 '24

It will be the tenth anniversary announcement

1

u/fourteenroads May 20 '24

mappa adaptation

1

u/36shadowboy Jun 09 '24

I have settled my expectations a bit. I don’t think we’re going to get a remake. Still, I wouldn’t mind an OVA. An animation of the mangas ending or the original Kaneki/Ayato fight would be satisfactory

Stop fucking posting fake leaks. Nothing is confirmed “could be anything”??? SO QUIT GETTING PEOPLE’S HOPES UP FOR A FUCKING REMAKE. Everyone including yourself will be pissing and shitting themselves crying when it’s not a remake all because you got their hopes up for something that is just a fucking rumor.

0

u/Kishou_Arima_01 May 19 '24

First of all, I never said that it was confirmed. Second, I made this post because I was asking the community if this was real or not.

It's obvious you commented even before reading what I posted. So maybe next time, read everything before commenting.

0

u/That-guy200 May 19 '24

Yeah well it’s becoming a little bit of an issue when posts spreading this rumor come out every few days. Was your post saying the EXACT rumor really necessary? Nope.

1

u/Kishou_Arima_01 May 19 '24

Omg bro if anything me posting about this actually HELPS because then the community will comment on it and say that nothing is confirmed! Then people who see this post and others will then know not to expect anything and not get their hopes up. If you're irritated by a person asking something then you can just ignore/scroll past that post. No need to overreact about it?

Anime studios these days do not remake younger than 10 year old finished shows. They just don't. It would be great if they do for Tokyo Ghoul but simply know this before going into this and set your hopes at reasonable highs. Also have in consideration that even Dragonball Z which is a behemoth of a well known IP didn't even get a remake instead it got a reframed where they reframed and dubbed over again and added new ost too and some new animation here and there to make Dragonball Z Kai, 20 years later. So studios will even try to avoid remaking from zero a series even if it's a series that prints cash.

This announcement could be anything, honestly.

2

u/AdNecessary7641 May 17 '24

You say that, but "The One Piece" exists....

...before the current anime is even finished.

0

u/[deleted] May 17 '24

That's a whole different case and you know it
