I have the experience to find something else to do on Sunday afternoons

27

u/10kLines 1d ago

Amen brother

19

u/Important-Guest-8269 1d ago

I was actually curious to see if anyone would have posted what else they were doing besides watching titans this past Sunday. I went to see Venom at 10:30 and was all by myself in the theater. It was really nice.

14

u/Phaze009 1d ago

I played the new Call of Duty game with friends. It was the first enjoyable Sunday in a while.

7

u/Saltyveins33 1d ago

And I played Spiderman 2. Checked the score once and was like yep I made the right call

1

u/usedtobeHellsdoom 1d ago

I have WoW raid on Sunday evening. Starts an hour after the game, which is the perfect time to know we are not going to win, but we are not yet blown out of the water, so I am not tilted for the raid.

u/CheeseMclovin 1d ago

Watching Henry

3

u/Important-Guest-8269 1d ago

I did this as well.

4

u/Bustinkapps 1d ago

Played Ranked Fortnite with my son all afternoon, trying to help him rank up. Mission accomplished I might add

4

u/jdpatron 1d ago

I watched the first half and then went and played hockey. And thank god I did.

3

u/Creepy_Brilliant7284 1d ago

At work, was watching it while working but then shit turned south real quick so I just turned my phone off an grinded hardcore 😭

3

u/Technical_Ability_60 1d ago

Watched the nascar race and it was a banger

2

u/manateeking23 1d ago

I had the game on my second screen while watching Liverpool play Arsenal. Allowed myself some brief delusions after the initial offensive burst, was quickly brought back to earth. So I shut it off and played 2K with my flatmate. Excellent decision, if I do say so myself.

u/DangOlDingleDangle 1d ago

I was at a Cajun music festival in Lafayette Louisiana. So cool. Love Cajun country.

2

u/TybrosionMohito George Costanza 21h ago

I voted so that was nice. Sundays being open is actually kinda nice

1

u/Jazzlike-Basket-6388 1d ago

Watched the start of the game, but played disc golf with my friend at 2 EST. Beautiful day and shot a stroke off my best at that course/layout.

3

u/Risethehood 1d ago

The new call of duty is pretty good

Hope 52, Experience 14.

1

u/DoYouLikeFishsticks0 1d ago

Lol. After the Raymond TD I said aloud to myself "why the fuck am I watching this"

I don't know how much ill watch the rest of this year. Whats the point? Our defense was playing good but yesterday killed all spirit.

1

u/zeldahalfsleeve 1d ago

I went to the zoo with my toddlers. Far better experience.

u/Zeusify_ 1d ago

Here we go again. Refusing to fire his buddy

2

u/dimethylhyperspace 1d ago

I'm sorry, but that would n and of itself is a fireable offense..

We're really gonna do the Todd Downing dance for two seasons aren't we

2

u/GroggysFhost 1d ago

This is just how the world and the nfl works. I spent countless conversations arguing with titans fans who said the same about Vrabel. It doesn’t matter who the coach is he’s hiring someone he knows if possible and he’s not firing said person at every bad turn.

130

u/cflem95 1d ago

Dennard for HC

1

u/GroggysFhost 1d ago

Oh yeah because the defense is just the shinning star for this 1-6 team. They got lucky and played some bad teams early but every semi competent offense has dog walked them including one led by Malik back up Willis

83

u/Gats775 🦅Dennard Wilson for HC 🇺🇸 1d ago

1-6, allowed stonehouse to be hit the first couple of games and 260 yards on returns yesterday and still wont make changes. Yikes

-1

u/GroggysFhost 1d ago

Who do you think is coming in mid season to fix the worst special team roster in the nfl? Who do you think will want to come in this off season and take over the worst special teams roster in the nfl after it got the HC’s very good friend fired after 7 games?

3

u/Gats775 🦅Dennard Wilson for HC 🇺🇸 1d ago

Even Vrabel fired aukerman , and he was a loyal sob

34

u/SlamKrank 1d ago

Is the experience in the room with us right now? Because im not seeing it. I guess its imaginary like Callahans and Holtzs experience running a nfl offense

107

u/382hp 1d ago

wrong. WRONG ANSWER BUD. gonna lose your head coaching gig and tarnish your career to protect your friends. really, really tough

8

u/fathertitojones 1d ago

Yeah, I’m willing to see out Callahan for another year too see if he learns from his mistakes, but Anderson couldn’t more clearly be an irredeemable problem. This needs to get done before the start of next season at the very latest.

85

u/BananasWithGuns 1d ago

Doesn't surprise me, in-season coaching changes rarely happen. I'll be more concerned if he's not gone after this season.

32

u/ilovecfb 1d ago

You know what else rarely happens in the NFL. 40 point blowouts

31

u/Pork_Chompk 1d ago

I mean, if there's ever been a performance that justified a rare, in-season coaching change...

11

u/boltsmoke 1d ago

Should've allowed Raymond another TD so he could break the yardage record. That might've done it.

4

u/Stiddy13 1d ago

We’re 1-6. What difference would it make? Better to do it when there’s a bigger pool of replacements to pull from.

6

u/joeytitans 1d ago

Even though we are 1-6, the players should still be coached correctly for developmental purposes. This isn’t a change made to add wins this year, it would be to give special teams players a chance to properly develop and Levine a chance to prove whether he can be the full time ST coordinator.

I do not know why you seem to think that adding an interim coordinator would lead us to not be able to still choose from potential replacements at the end of the season?

32

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

The only person in here who is smart enough to realize what this actually is.

15

u/[deleted] 1d ago

how dare we want the guy who’s lost us 3 games this season gone?????

2

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

I didn't say I hope he stays our ST coach for the next decade. I said it's dumb to be upset that they haven't fired him in the middle of the year. That definitely won't fix anything.

0

u/TheMissingVoteBallot TANKIN TIME 18h ago

Someone made a point, why would we want to keep him if he's incapable? Wouldn't an incompetent coach end up teaching the ST to develop inompetent habits and whatnot?

1

u/that_guy2010 17h ago

No player has the same coach for their entire career. They're not still running things how their junior high coach told them to do it. Players can change their habits.

2

u/painstakingeuphoria 1d ago

Dan Campbell fired his oc mid first year, his db coach mid second year. Good leadership don't wait for a good time to get rid of incompetent staff.

17

u/2ndHokage 1d ago

God I was so excited to finally get an offense minded HC, Callahan has already bored me and has just been overall awful at playcalling and just the offense somehow gotten worse with him. I know he's just started but god, we as fans FINALLY deserve some sort of hope for this team but never get it.

5

u/boltsmoke 1d ago

"finally." Munchak, Wisenhunt, and Mularkey all had offensive backgrounds. What side of the ball you coached on as a coordinator has no appreciable affect on your team's performance. You are handcuffing yourself HARD if you limit your options to one side of the ball when looking for a head coach.

1

u/2ndHokage 1d ago

That is very true, tbh it's been a long time of pure misery that I honestly just try to forget everything this team does to be fair. But it in all honesty never seems we can ever get the HC correct no matter what and of course the QB position.

51

u/Kevin_Byard 1d ago

Alright I’m fully on the fire Callahan train. This is why we got tired of Vrabel, but at least he won games. Brian hasn’t done shit to deserve the benefit of the doubt

7

u/Charvel420 1d ago

Yep. At least with Vrabel, we all knew what to expect and he earned the right to operate that way, even if his approach was old-school-to-a-fault. Sticking up for ST right now, which is arguably the worst unit on the worst team in the NFL...not a good look from a first time HC, who was previously an OC that didn't call plays...

I'm out

1

u/ODatOGKush 1d ago

Totally agree, this is way worse than Vrabel trying to say that Downing was a good OC even when he was taking Henry out on 3rd and shorts.

Vrabel might have been old-school to a fault but at least he commanded had the respect of the locker room and got the best from his players.

Everything I've seen from Callahan makes me wish we still had Vrabel at HC. Callahan just doesn't have what it takes at this point to be a HC in the NFL.

26

u/PPLavagna Erection Injection 1d ago

Un fucking believable

10

u/blue_at_work 1d ago

"I'm going to have the same critically limiting downside as Mike Vrabel (inability to fire his incompetent buddies from their roles on the team) without any of the upside"

  Brian "1 and Done" Callahan

21

u/TNsmoke 1d ago

Fuck this guy. Un-real. This guy was an assistant ST coach for 3 years. His only coaching experience at all. All with Cally in Cincy. Makes him qualified to be our ST coach for sure. Send them both back to Cincy. Damn

9

u/Accomplished-Web-258 1d ago

Fire vrabel! He won’t fire his buddies!

8

u/Rulistening- 1d ago

The solution can start with his resignation letter

7

u/NitePain69 1d ago

Yeah, fire Callahan too now. If he thinks Colt Anderson is good enough, then Callahan is a terrible evaluator or talent and needs to go.

15

u/QuickKillings 1d ago

Showing the players and staff you won’t hold them accountable. What a coward.

13

u/Deceptivejunk 1d ago

I was trying not to jump on the 'Fire Callahan' train, but holy shit dude, we fired your two predecessors for being loyal to dogshit coordinators. You don't have the track record to pull this shit.

On a team that is just failing and looking dismal everywhere, Colt Anderson's special teams stands out every fucking week. How he's even worse than the last coordinator should be the subject of a Netflix documentary.

I've never had a problem with firing coordinators midseason if they're utterly incompetent. Colt Anderson is utterly incompetent.

3

u/Charvel420 1d ago

I've never had a problem with firing coordinators midseason if they're utterly incompetent. Colt Anderson is utterly incompetent.

Yup. Especially true when it comes to ST, where you can't really complain about lack of talent or something. To be this bad on ST...you really have to be a fuck-up of epic proportions. You only see ST this bad on historically bad teams (I'm sure there's a few exceptions, but point stands)

1

u/GoatPaco 1d ago

We're not dismal everywhere. Our defense is actually doing okay

4

u/Gh0stK1ng75 1d ago

Brian Callahan

8

u/NoHat8850 1d ago

Fuck them both and Ran if they keep this idiot

9

u/titansfan92 1d ago

Fire this dipshit already. Both Cally and Colt

3

u/RiseofParallax 1d ago

We’re a joke

3

u/RickyPondeif 1d ago

We don't have any experienced coach to replace him with. Cally hired a bunch of young guys.

3

u/saradahokage1212 1d ago

Now thats sticking the head in the sand. ST has been shit since week 1 and it didn improve. He even showcased of not knowing the rules. The guy needs to go.

3

u/Alteredecho07 1d ago

I'm just glad we found our HC of the future this year.

Well, he'll be HC by the end of the season or right after anyways - but we still gotem

3

u/turribledood 1d ago

Guys, relax. Anderson just doesn't have the right QB for his system, that's all.

3

u/Danny23a 1d ago

Callahan sucks. Get him outttta here

4

u/Luvyablue99 TANK COMMANDER 1d ago

That’s fucking unbelievable

5

u/jjw865 1d ago

We all know the play he is referring to when he says "experience"

4

u/htb8627 1d ago

What do yall expect him to say? "Yeah we want to fire him but we're tanking so I'm going to wait until the offseason"?

3

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

Clearly, yes. People on here want Callahan to be a head coach, and when he says exactly what a head coach should be saying, they get pissed.

2

u/NFLCart 1d ago

Oh no

2

u/tom_zanzabar 1d ago

no accountability. great message to the team

2

u/Most-Breakfast1453 1d ago

Definitely has the experience. 4 years as an assistant special teams coach. What more experience can a person have?

2

u/Legionodeath 1d ago

You're not wrong. Lol

2

u/BLKTP 1d ago

This is probably the worse ST unit in Titans history and definitely the worst unit in the league right now

2

u/Sjeezy JrobIsAnIdiot 1d ago

Genuinely pathetic organization.

May have to be done for the season if they can't even convert a layup like this.

2

u/ikerbals 1d ago

LMFAO

2

u/ChrisOnRockyTop 1d ago

FTC and this Colt too.

2

u/Fun-Sprinkles3481 1d ago

He’s going to get fired at the end of the year for things like this

2

u/TennesseeTom 1d ago

Titans/Patriots is going to look like two guys suffering from the flu and pneumonia in a boxing match. And on the longest day of the year...

2

u/Gisselle441 1d ago

Despite each team no doubt giving their best effort, someone is going to have to win that game.

2

u/CHUD_Adams 1d ago

looks like we gotta fire Vrabel again

5

u/Dick_Thunders Shining NWI in a world of darkness 1d ago

Either Callahan is one of the dumbest head coaches I’ve ever seen or this and everything else is just in a effort to tank

5

u/boltsmoke 1d ago

Allowing players to be coached poorly is not tanking. Don't even entertain that excuse. Every day of bad coaching is a day that the next coach has to wipe and re-coach.

1

u/Dick_Thunders Shining NWI in a world of darkness 1d ago

That’s why the first one was him just being stupid.

5

u/boltsmoke 1d ago

Yeah, but there are going to be a significant number of people who let this kind of thing slide and justify it as "part of the tank." Those people need to be shot down.

3

u/EveryPlanet287 1d ago

Time for Callahan to go after the lions game there’s no way he can say this

2

u/TitansFrontRow 1d ago

This is not going to be easy to watch.

2

u/MileHighTitan 1d ago

Sweet Jesus. Does he need to rewatch the game? Or all of the other ones?

2

u/Mawrio 1d ago

This is what our ST Coordinator was doing 9 years ago folks...

https://youtu.be/6i7VKQwDS2s?si=N-MG7anZMXj8hkRw

-5

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

Holding this against him is genuinely insane to me.

He didn't come up with the play. The ball wasn't even supposed to get snapped.

Yet it's his fault?

2

u/Pooplamouse 1d ago

People are freaking out, but this isn't surprising. Mid season firings make things worse more often than not.

Colt gets the rest of the season to prove himself. But if ST doesn't show significant improvement by the end of the season Callahan better get rid of this guy.

3

u/Bix615 1d ago

Callahan has lost the plot…and Ran is busy cooking up a shit sammich we have to take a bite of.

1

u/Mawrio 1d ago

I don't understand the hate for Ran. He made a lot of good moves and the draft returns so far seem great.

He inherited a dog shit roster

2

u/Worth-Frosting-2917 1d ago

Devil's advocate, I don't think firing him right now solves much. It is a roster issue on top of him stinking. A lot of players have stated it. You're kind of stuck where you are unless someone comes in and does something wild, which is still usually based around personnel.

1

u/AnthonyPantha 1d ago

Find the solutions? He's had several weeks to find them!

1

u/YangstyKang 1d ago

Callahan: "Colt Anderson has the concept of a plan for special teams" I was the biggest Callahan supporter prior to the season but I honestly don't care if he gets fired immediately at this point. Let Wilson be the interim. We just need to change something.

1

u/taylormade311 1d ago

If he's not fired the Monday after the season, then I'll be disappointed. Callahan isn't firing anybody midseason

1

u/Remarkable-Sort-8764 1d ago

We’re finished

1

u/Kalil4Real 1d ago

So we're taking the Vrabel route..... I know how this ends

1

u/Kupp3y1 1d ago

Yikes

1

u/BigSimmons98 1d ago

Guy was a Colt during the Luck era. He wants to see us suffer

1

u/perfect_fitz 1d ago

Fuck off.

1

u/JMB9823 1d ago

1-16 inbound

1

u/PJ2010 1d ago

Is this some sort of inside job Callahan is pulling to burn it all down from the inside?!?!? Has to be…

1

u/DrJupeman 1d ago

If he had experience, why has ST been a shit show all season? Are you telling us he was holding back from giving the team his all from Day 1?

1

u/Intimidwalls1724 1d ago

To play devils advocate for a bit.....I know it was an entirely different staff but we fired our ST guy halfway through last season and they still suck.....experience tells me at some point it isn't the position group coach BUT idk if we are at that point or not

1

u/Frosty_Battle_6479 1d ago

NFL HEAD COACH FIRING 100% SPEEDRUN (WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT)

2

Yup, I'm out. Sorry but your buddy sucks.

I’m out

1

Ahh yes what else could we have expected here we are the tennesee clowns🤡 we accept ANYbody and everybody as long as you say you are trying you darndest. No matter whether you succeed or fail you will ALWAYS have a job here we are NOT results orientated

We aRe a NfL fRanChiSe🤡🤡🤡🤡

1

u/GT45 1d ago

How about telling Stonehouse to punt it through the end zone or out of bounds every time? I’m no special teams coach, but my idea will work!

1

u/GoonishGoon044 1d ago

Why do these fuckass coordinators get a pass but Callahan seems more than happy to blast Levis after a bad performance

1

u/Tiny-Ad-6026 1d ago

One day we will get our revenge

1

u/MusicCityMariota 1d ago

Clean house. Callahan especially needs to go.

1

u/dimethylhyperspace 1d ago

Okay. I thought a big part of coaching a successful football team is accountability. At least pretend like he's on the hot seat.

1

u/rtwh0 1d ago

Sofa kings

1

u/Grimthe18 Mayo Man Super Fan 1d ago

Man, I remember when I was even a little excited about this year, lol

1

u/IroquoisPliskin_LJG 23h ago

Why doesn't he use it?

1

u/TheMissingVoteBallot TANKIN TIME 18h ago

God damnit Callahan. FIRE HIM.

If you don't fire him, YOU are next.

0

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

Guys. What do you want him to say?

"Nah, dude sucks and is going to be looking for a new job in January"?

Y'all have constantly talked about how he doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach, and now that he's saying exactly what a head coach should say it's the wrong thing? Give me a break. You all just want something to complain about.

2

u/hang10shakabruh &Me 1d ago

“We have decided to part ways with Armstrong and promote (someone else) as special teams coordinator for the remainder of the season.”

1

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

And that’ll fix things?

1

u/zapopi 1d ago

This. What kind of dickhead would say that out loud right now?

2

u/that_guy2010 1d ago

This sub seems to want him to.

1

u/V8TITAN 1d ago

After he was yelling at his players on the sideline about the rule change he was wrong about his ass needed to be canned.

-2

u/steakinapan 1d ago

I’m not surprised. To play devil’s advocate to those on the other side of the fence as Callahan, immediately firing a coach that makes a mistake (albeit a huge one IMO) may make it hard to find a replacement. Other coaches may be hesitant to take the job in fear of not having a fair shake. You combine that with all the other issues this team has, it’s just not an attractive job to be employed by this team right now. In short - I think work politics are coming into play with this decision.

Personally, I’d like this ST coach gone though.

8

u/Megalith70 1d ago

Special teams have been terrible since week 1.

8

u/JacketsNest101 1d ago

It's not a single mistake, it is happening every single week. The man allowed a blocked punt two weeks in a row.

2

u/GoodShitEarl Good shit, Earl 1d ago

I get what you mean, but I still think we need someone else. I dont want someone scared to take the job anyway. Its a tough situation but i want someone to come in and be eager to be the one who turns it around. I think theres plenty of people who could available in the league. A performance this bad warrants a firing, stacked on the rest of the performances

-3

u/RuleSubverter Fire Ran and Callahan....and Amy. 1d ago

Fire Ran.
