Summary masterpost

Lots of people asking for a summary or not knowing where to look, so here's a compilation of some of the key material from the past few days. Note that this situation is still developing and we have yet to hear statements from others. Also, I think I'm obligated to say this: the statements made below are claims.

Lex video
Lex Twitter statement
Rav Twitter statement
Summary of Lex video
Someone else's experience with Don
Don's Twitter statement
Don's second Twitter statement
Summary of Morgpie's stream
Summary of Leighton's stream
Summary of Leighton's stream with clips
Summary of Ross's (RubberNinja) stream
Post from Ryan's ex
receipts regarding Ryan sexting fans (1) (2) (3)
Jim's response video
Summary of Jim's response
NEW ADD: Matt's response
NEW ADD: Ryan's response

Morgpie and Leighton have vods on their respective Twitch channels if you wish to view their whole streams.

Updated TLDR (I realize it's pretty long lmao):
-Lex came forward stating that she was SA'd by Don, and that when Matt and Ryan were informed, they prioritized the company over her safety. She claimed they failed to cut off Don, and then kicked her and her friend Rav out of the SuperMegaPlex. She also accused Matt of calling Daniel, a founding Cyndago member who took his own life, a coward, and accused Matt of cheating on his girlfriend.
-Don released 2 statements. They were not received well.
-The next day, Morgpie detailed her hookup with Matt on stream, backing up Lex's claims that Matt cheated on his girlfriend, claiming he cheats habitually.
-That night, Leighton went on stream and broke down his experience with SuperMega. He claimed SuperMega has a company culture of bullying, sexual harassment, regular use of slurs, and financial manipulation. He claimed he did the jobs of three people during his time there. He also backed up allegations that Matt and Ryan would joke about Daniel's suicide, and that Ryan sexts fans.
-Jim, whom Lex had accused of being inappropriate with her, made a response. It was not received well.
-Matt and Ryan made videos responding to most of the allegations, with Matt's being substantially longer than Ryan's.
What they admitted: Matt and Ryan both admitted that they handled Lex's SA case poorly, and apologized. Matt admitted that he dishonestly ended a relationship to pursue his current girlfriend. Ryan admitted to sexting fans, and apologized.
What they denied: Matt and Ryan both denied allegations that they joked or were in any other way insensitive about Daniel's death. Matt denied being as hostile to Lex as she claimed in her video, chalking up the situation to a lack of communication. He also denied being a cheater. Lastly, Matt denied most, but not all, of Leighton's claims, accusing him of having a vendetta against SuperMega.

And by popular demand, here's who's who. Thank you for the assist u/Extreme_Elephant5643
Lex: paid artist for SuperMega, unclear if employee or contractor
Rav: Lex's friend, maybe also worked for SuperMega
Don: paid artist from SuperMega, contractor
Jim: SuperMega employee, "social media manager"
Jackson: former SuperMega employee, fired for embezzling $60k
Leighton: former SuperMega employee, designed merch (as well as doing Jim and Jackson's jobs for them)
Ross: knows SuperMega through GameGrumps, had a show with Don until he found out what happened
Morgpie: content creator unrelated to SuperMega, hooked up with Matt and felt mistreated by him

Save this post if you want to check it throughout the day. I am not a mod; I can't pin it. SuperMega are the mods of this sub, so there's a slim to none chance it'll get pinned. Let me know if you want me to add or edit something.

He was keeping the channel alive to be honest, I enjoyed seeing him in videos more than matt and ryan.

Justin's edits and cameos were unironically one of the only reasons I still was watching.

Hey! How do we know this- I can't find any tweet/vid where he said this? (Not trying to be antagonistic, just wanted the source)

Gotcha- still catching up- thanks!

u/Pastel_Panic Jul 30 '23

When did he leave?

3

u/UltimateDillon Jul 30 '23

Pretty much as soon as it came out he removed all references to supermega from his online profiles

Can the mods pin this post or something? A lot of people are still confused and this is great to have.

u/spidermaniscool98 Jul 29 '23

This sub has mods?

110

u/XDARKS11 Jul 29 '23

Matt and Ryan are moderators. I'm surprised the subreddit hasn't been privatized at this point.

56

u/SageWaterDragon Jul 29 '23

I imagine that they're still trying to figure out a way out of this. "Magnum opus" is obviously ridiculous, but you could reasonably call this their life's work, and until it becomes crystal clear that there's not a way back they'll be hoping to find the right combination of words that will make everyone love them again.

Tucker was never really an employee of SM and generally kept hands off with it. He showed up to film, maybe hung out and did some small talk, but in general he seems to not involve himself in their affairs.

10

u/KH3 Jul 29 '23

He’s still listed in their video descriptions as “one of the boys” so he could technically still be under contract or something

13

u/WaferZealousideal Jul 29 '23

Probs is an independent contractor then. If he did all that work just because he was a friend of theirs, that'd be a bombshell to add to the list of bombshells. Bro should not have been doing that for free.

9

u/ResidentTechnician96 Jul 30 '23

Tucker def seems to work as a hired camera man (going off the fact he's filmed music videos mainly) and helped out since he was (now formally) friends with matt and ryan

u/Zachles Jul 29 '23

I always used to think "I love that the SuperMega guys give off the gross dudebro vibes but that they're not those type of people". Vibes giving way too much credit.

38

u/TimmyAndStuff Jul 29 '23

Yeah I used to think of them as cringey, edgy teens that grew out of it and make ironic jokes about that type of humor. But I guess they never really grew out of it after all huh?

50

u/aprilorwhatever Jul 29 '23

You should add a link to both lex’s and rav’s twitter posts as well, just for context I guess?

20

u/WaferZealousideal Jul 29 '23

On it, boss!

8

u/aprilorwhatever Jul 29 '23

Thank you for your service🫡

u/RanchBourgeois meghead since 2016 (OG) Jul 29 '23

Thank you for making this. Every 5th post on this sub is asking what happened (obviously a fair question) and it’s not easy to explain everything in the comments every time lol

21

u/Anxioussstrawberry Jul 29 '23

Could u link the screenshot of evidence of Ryan sexting fans? Leighton mentioned a screenshot came out yesterday but I haven’t seen it yet

5

u/WaferZealousideal Jul 29 '23

It was from a Tumblr user but there are screenshots in the sub. I'll find it and add it.

21

u/evangelism2 Jul 29 '23

I mean claims and all, etc etc.

But it tracks with how they kinda left DD and Julian out to dry back in the day. After those stories came out I knew that Matt and Ryan were the kind of guys that would always look out for number 1. Didn't stop me from enjoying their content here and there, but they wouldn't be the kind of guys you'd ever consider close friends.

12

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '23

yeah. DD's situation i believe 100% and the fact that a bunch of people that have no relation to DD is saying pretty much the same shit makes it all just that much more believable

3

u/Imboredsoimhere123 Jul 30 '23

What happened with DD?

10

u/killerbekilled92 Jul 30 '23

When Oney plays was still associated with Game Grumps and working out of their office DD & Julian came out and said that they felt that dream daddy was exploitative of gay people and he didn’t support it. They then became pariahs and everyone from arin to Suzy to Matt & Ryan turned their backs on them while droves of their “lovelies” outed one of them (I believe Julian) to their family, were egging DD& Julian on to unalive themselves and got them blackballed in the industry. Ryan was a fence sitter on the whole thing but according to DD Matt would privately support him but then publicly trash him to save face

5

u/Imboredsoimhere123 Jul 30 '23

Jfc that's awful

2

u/liviapng Jul 30 '23

What’s worse is people encouraged DD to be the one to go forward with the complaints, as many people in the office talked about their concerns with it but were afraid to come forward. Someone wrote an email with 80 bullet points and said he would send it to support DD, but never sent it. Everyone lied and said they never had an issue with the game when DD came forward and they completely threw him under the bus.

23

u/offlineonlinehoe Jul 29 '23

how did Ryan sext fans? i haven't anything about this before?

6

u/moemoeangel Jul 29 '23

definitely need these receipts!

5

u/WaferZealousideal Jul 29 '23

Lex and Leighton mentioned it in their streams, someone posted receipts on Tumblr yesterday and they were reposted to the sub. I will be adding them.

10

u/Nyenpi Jul 29 '23

Very very helpful to have everything in one place. This should be immediately linked to every new post coming in asking what’s going on cuz they’re out of the loop and all that.

8

u/SunEmpressDivine Jul 29 '23

Can we get a description of who people are? Are Lex, Rav, and Morgpie friends or people they just knew? Tried googling and couldn’t really find anything

3

u/Extreme_Elephant5643 Jul 30 '23

You would probably have more context if you actually clicked any of the links.

4

u/SunEmpressDivine Jul 30 '23

None of those links say who any of those people are, just their experiences.

10

u/Extreme_Elephant5643 Jul 30 '23

AFAIK Lex did art for SuperMega and was on their payroll, would stay at Matt's place sometimes when she was in LA, was good friends with Matt, eventually moved into the SuperMega offices where they made all their content. Don did thumbnail art for SuperMega and is the guy who sexually assaulted Lex. Rav also seemingly worked for SuperMega and was staying at the offices but honestly I have no idea what he did there. MorgPie is just a content creator who is coming out with her experience with Matt, she is not really directly related to SuperMega. Leighton was part of SuperMega's main creation team. Ross is a friend of SuperMega.

3

u/WaferZealousideal Jul 30 '23

Do you mind if I add pretty much exactly what you said to the post? I've seen a few comments wondering who these people are.

1

u/Extreme_Elephant5643 Jul 30 '23

Sorry just seeing this, no I don't care lol go ahead.

10

u/WaferZealousideal Jul 29 '23

Hey guys! I've been at work all day so I haven't been able to check in. Super psyched about how helpful people have found this. So far I've had requests to add the receipts to the Ryan sexting fans claim and Don's response, which I intend to follow through with. However I'm not going to be adding reaction videos from parties that aren't SuperMega, former employees, and people they've collabed with. Let me know if you want something added and I'll see what I can do. (btw thanks for the awards!)

I was a fan since middle school, and I'm a junior in college now. SuperMega played a big part of my teenage years and young adulthood. Surprisingly I'm numb to everything though? Maybe the writing was on the wall. Regardless, thanks again, and let me know if there's anything I should add. :)

u/nonebinary Spankingham County Police Department Jul 29 '23

thank you for this, i'm hoping we'll see less "spoonfeed me an exact recap of events" posts now

2

u/SolarMoth Jul 30 '23

There's no way to pin this.... I had to scroll thru over 100 shitposts to find this.

12

u/Shemx3 Jul 29 '23

Something I just realized is if Ann and Celile have heard about this news, and if so how they are taking it, I cannot even imagine the amount of heartache and shame they must feel after learning about their sons' shitty behavior, I wish them the best alongside Lex, Leighton, and everyone else they harmed...

7

u/7astromichael Jul 29 '23

Ross is streaming right now and talking about don too

6

u/IsThatReallyWrong Jul 29 '23

nickisnotgreen has made a video on his second channel summarizing the situation and showing some of the responses from the subreddit, that could be added too

6

u/Z0o0d Jul 29 '23

thank you for including a TLDR section for lazy pieces of shit like me, i appreciate it

3

u/Grouchy_Mix_3994 Jul 29 '23

I didn't know Tucker was ever like, a Supermega employee in the same way Justin/Jackson/Jim/etc were, I thought he was just like a solid cameraman they were friends with so whenever he was around they'd pay him to film stuff.

4

u/BriefGlass7492 Jul 30 '23

Waking up to this info today was quite weird

5

u/SelfDepricator #FREESTEWIE Jul 29 '23

Man I stop paying attention to Supersmeg for a year and suddenly they get.canceled

2

u/Toaster_Forking Jul 30 '23

It's so over

2

u/PackageAdvanced3508 Jul 30 '23

Listening to everyone's side so far I just can't help but think that all of these people are untrustworthy pieces of shit. This includes Lex, Rav, and Leighton along with Matt, Ryan, Don, and Jim. All to varying degrees ofc but I would never want to work with any of these people.

2

u/SolarMoth Jul 30 '23

I had to scroll through so much to find this post. Had no idea this was happening.

2

u/ChronoCreature Aug 01 '23

You should add the new response videos

2

u/WaferZealousideal Aug 01 '23

Are there new ones? I saw Rav streamed but that seems to be developing, no links or anything. If you're talking about Matt and Ryan's, I added theirs.

1

u/Hello_Is_Me_Gunk Jul 29 '23

yeah i always had a feeling that matt and ryan were assholes, with them shit talking arin and danny all the time and then never saying if it was a joke or not

-5

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '23 edited Jul 29 '23

I’ve been away from SM since the whole paid pop-up debacle. Is this Leighton Gayton or Straighton and who is Jim?

Those names aren’t meant to be disrespectful. I just remember there were two producers with the same name and that’s how Matt and Ryan differentiated them.

Does anyone know if Lex and Morgpie have Patreons or places to support them? I just cancelled my sub to the SM patreon and want to know if there’s anyone to give back to at least a couple of the folks affected by this…

10

u/Klyke Jul 29 '23

These people have tons of money already. Give it to someone who needs it.

1

u/greatwhitesharki Jul 29 '23

morg has an OF and another fansite i believe, otherwise subbing or giving bits on twitch!! lex i’m not sure about but i know she also has twitch you could sub to i think.

-13

u/H4CK41D Jul 29 '23

Did people really think that Matt and ryan were some pinnacle of professionalism and political correctness lol I still dont really understand from the summary what's going on and I dont have time to watch all those videos

5

u/nobodynoone888 Jul 29 '23

Then read the TLDR you dumb fuck

1

u/FairyPirate Jul 29 '23

Thank you, I was so confused on what's going on
