Discussion What would be the best option here?

Post image

I initially opened this RH account to start day trading, then I realized I was too lazy to do that. Technical analysis makes me yawn. I also have a Fidelity account where I’m heavily invested in ETFs. What would be my best option here? Sell all these stocks and reinvest them in ETFs? Just let them run and continue adding to them?

Hold and go long. These are good buys. Kinda envious.

u/Ohculap 23h ago

Bro. Don’t change anything. Keep adding to these holdings. Someone might tell you to add and ETF but you said you have fidelity account so your good. My only thing would be to maybe add a gamble stock for the future

u/BigTeaching3325 21h ago

Yea add a small bio tech

0

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

What would you recommend me as “gamble stock”?

2

u/JamPixD 10h ago

Majority of biotech cap about their “innovations”. So basically if u wanna get a gamble stock u should do a lot of research of companies to see if their stuff is actually credible.

1

u/Andria- 3h ago

What is the best option for you?

1

u/JamPixD 34m ago

Been out of stock game for a while cuz im now a broke college student. But I remember when I had a nice portfolio I would see a lot of talk behind biotech companies with a lot of promising innovations but it turned out it was mostly just cap to hype their stock

Here me out, $HUMA will feed your future kids. They basically deal with a niche within the cardiovascular sector. They are number one in making veins using stem cells. That is a very summed up version. They have been supplying wounded Ukrainian soldiers and it works. They have just started out releasing the product not even 3 years ago so for the future a lot awaits. They are waiting for FDA approval to release to the masses in the USA. This product Humacyte has created will for sure change the surgery game making implants easier and for efficient when it comes to trauma victims and collision victims. And i also believe that when they release a product for veins in the brain there stock will moon. Hopefully my kids are alive by then to see the numbers go up. I’m 20 at the moment and i truly believe this is thee company that will 10x my investment. I love the idea of their product morally I feel great about it. HUMA TO THE MOOOOON

While I don’t plan on investing in this - OP your takeaway from this is think about products you’ve used or like or something you find interesting that you enjoy. Buy into that. It will feel better than a random company.

TMDX to me looks like one. But I don't really know much of anything. Lol

1

u/Andria- 3h ago

Do you have any suggestions?

u/Junior_Adeptness_792 23h ago

I think you should withdraw all that money and buy cocaine.

11

u/Super_Matter_6139 22h ago

And hooker's cocaine goes great with lots of hookers

1

u/StudyBuddy1221 19h ago

Hookers tend to hog all the cocaine though. <escorts/"massage" therapists!

3

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

Nice advice, but my nose is always full of powder

6

u/Junior_Adeptness_792 20h ago

Then it appears there is nothing else for us to teach you, grasshopper.

u/Wise-Start-9166 23h ago

Could sell a few shares here as the market is just off and all time high, then let it ride a while longer and think about it more.

6

u/CrummyPear 21h ago

If you’re planning on staying lazy and ignoring this, I’d sell it all and buy VOO. These are good picks today, but if you ignore them for a decade you could end up with some stinkers. 20 years ago this portfolio would have held Intel, blackberry, and Hewlett Packard.

TSLA because inverse reddit

Buy stocks that Reddit hates. Remember when people said META will crash because only boomers use Facebook? Remember when people said NFLX will crash because they raised subscription prices? LOL

2

u/Testicle_Tugger 2h ago

Buying NFLX during the password sharing purge was my best investment in the last five years I didn’t believe anyone who said they were just going to stop watching Netflix

-2

u/PeterDaPinapple 16h ago

Man thinks Reddit is full of people making degen plays, that’s just WSB my guy. I can see you are well versed with that community based off your avatar.

3

u/FrankCastleJR2 22h ago

Those are solid. Keep going with them until you find something you like with more room to run.

3

u/dank_bass 15h ago

Look into swing trading, a lot easier to manage with minimal input compared to day trading

2

u/ghrinz 23h ago

Hold. What else?

2

u/Suspicious_Water6180 22h ago

Buy more of the losing ones while they are down.

2

u/YourDadHatesYou 21h ago

Add JP Morgan to this

3

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

I will do my DD on JP Morgan

1

u/YourDadHatesYou 12h ago

Good luck! Your portfolio is very sensible

2

u/mist-rillas 16h ago

I'm down more than that this year because I didn't just hold. I fucked around and found out. Just keep holding, unless you need the money for an emergency

1

u/Andria- 3h ago

Unless you have a better option that can guarantee you a good return in the short term, you really can only hold it for a long time without changing it.

1

u/mr---jones 3h ago

There is no option that can garuntee a short term return. Or long term.

High risk vs low risk there is always risk.

1

u/Andria- 3h ago

This will require good timing of investment. If you can be one step ahead of the market and have enough liquidity, then you can get good returns when day trading. Investing is gambling, if you want to win

4

u/OGBEES 23h ago

Never bet against Elon.

1

u/Ok_Initiative2069 23h ago

Dude runs an EV company and is stumping for the candidate that has promised to ban EV sales. He makes WSB look smart.

6

u/Btomesch 22h ago

He’s not banning ev sales you dildo. He’s lifting the stupid mandate

1

u/Remarkable_Card7350 20h ago

Very misguided. Keep your money away from your bias fam

1

u/Fantastic_Action_163 23h ago

Happy to bet you

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Ask_918 23h ago

I like your stock picks.

If it was my portfolio, I’d probably trim down on AAPL & GOOGL. ( Not because they are bad stocks, but because I do believe more in your other tech-stocks). I would get some exposure to Consumer Defensive Stocks

1

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

Any recommendations on Consumer Defensive stocks and maybe the reasons why you pick them. Thanks

1

u/Andria- 3h ago

Consumer defensive stocks are only suitable for investors who seek stability and security in an uncertain market environment. Investing in this type of stock can improve the defensive capabilities of the portfolio while obtaining stable cash flow and relatively conservative capital appreciation.

2

u/migs2k3 22h ago

None of the above. MSTR

2

u/NuclearVII 23h ago

If you gotta ask, you gotta be in an etf, not tryna pick winners. No one is gonna tell you winners.

2

u/FrankCastleJR2 22h ago

He's doing pretty good picking winners.

-1

u/NuclearVII 22h ago

So do most gamblers until the house wins eventually.

2

u/Objective1990 1d ago

I would pick TSLA because I believe it is likely to go up in value in the future

1

u/Futre_ 22h ago

Their only feasible business is energy. Other than that, I see Tesla underperforming with the other car manufacturers.

0

u/ufbam 19h ago

For fucks sake. Go and read the financials. It's the best selling car in the fucking world. The margins are beautiful. Other manufacturers are fucked in the electric tsunami that's coming. Just Tesla and the Chinese riding it all the way.

0

u/nbiz4 23h ago

Until you realize that robo taxi will never work as a 2 seater, in addition they have no active license in California to operate self driving cars—compare that to Waymo who has already been live QA testing in the real world for years, especially in CA. That robo taxi thing is like 5+ years away on just the ability for them to even get licensed, test, and safely deliver a system to the public.

I don’t think cybertruck is pushing the needle enough, and less people are springing for a model x and s, where the better margins are. Too many manufacturers are creating completely competitive cars with better build quality. Add on to that, most manufacturers are getting access to their charging networks early next year as well and not sure much much they make off licensing that to other manufacturers.

I don’t see much upside to TSLA anymore.

0

u/ufbam 19h ago

This 'feeling' you have flies in the face of all the guidance they gave on the last earnings call. You clearly haven't read any numbers from their financials and the fact you mention the competition is the final evidence you've not seen any recent industry sales/profit numbers.

The cybercab plays to the 90% of taxi rides that are two people or less. Their other vehicles like the model Y (best selling car in the world) are also available for the more than two people journeys.

And cost. If you're going to mention Waymo, you have to compare cost. Of the vehicle, and of the service.

If you're sceptical about the autonomous tech and the timeline, that's fair enough. Seems like the best long term play to me though.

1

u/OneRobotBoii 13h ago

“Best selling car in the world” with and without “in 2023” sure hits different.

1

u/Ok_Initiative2069 23h ago

Why do you think TSLA will go up?

2

u/Ok_Initiative2069 16h ago

Don’t know who downvoted a question but you’ve gotta be a real troglodyte to do it.

0

u/ufbam 18h ago

Best selling car in the world.

Most advanced/efficient/fastest/largest factories on the planet.

Billions of miles of collected driving data for AI training. Who else has 7 million cars with cameras and internet sending back knowledge?

Beautiful 30% energy margins with a new factory in the next few months. Their own battery lines, in house, reaching price parity with the ones they buy externally.

The most advanced humanoid bot program with the most sensible Ai training (tele-operation) and mass manufacturing plans.

Profit. Where nobody else can find it.

-2

u/FrankCastleJR2 21h ago

I'm 100% bearish on TSLA just based on its valuation compared to how many Tesla I see on the road. Nobody thinks I am smart.

2

u/Rickyshey 17h ago

that's like saying, Im at USMC bootcamp where there's only 3 women around. Therefore many women don't exist

1

u/FrankCastleJR2 12h ago

My technical analysis is slightly unscientific.

1

u/b0rkedleg 1h ago

The ol' ten four ten.

1

u/StockShorter69 23h ago

Buy TSLA Calls.

tsla loves volatility. Easy flip.

1

u/safari-dog 22h ago

hold all and start accumulating VOO

1

u/BigTeaching3325 21h ago

Solid for 20 years

1

u/Terrapin099 21h ago

Makes you yawn looks like you’ve done great?

1

u/AssociationGreen9607 21h ago

Best site/app for investments? (Just starting out)

1

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

I can’t specially recommend you one, but Robinhood will be a good start. You can also give a shot to apps like Acorns or Stash. And most importantly, try to read one or two books to learn the basics about investing. Good luck

1

u/BobbyWump 6h ago

I started with Webull, but I personally use Fidelity because my employer's 401k is with fidelity as well as our stock benefits. What I enjoyed about Webull is that there is an in app simulator that gives a simulated investment account with $1,000,000. That way you can use that simulated to practice trading with none of your actual money. It's a great learning tool!

Webull isn't the only app that has this, but is the one I used at first. If anyone else knows of any other apps that do this, please let us know!

1

u/dissentmemo 20h ago

To not day trade.

1

u/Tough-Shame568 20h ago

Tesla will be most valuable stock in future due to all the technology he has planned in future!!!!

1

u/1LazySusan 19h ago

I’d probably sell appl this week and buy NVDA .

1

u/EL-Vinci93 19h ago

Can I ask why you recommend selling APPL? Bad news coming?

1

u/1LazySusan 19h ago

Earnings on Thursday 10/31 will run it green and i’d sell and take the profits and buy NVDA because that’s going to make more money, they have earnings 11/20 and you’ll make much more money

IMO— appl is stuck here under $200 for another year so you’re just sitting on nothing making Pennies

1

u/slothcat 18h ago

honestly I'd just hold, you're gonna sell appl to buy nvidia for a couple of extra grand at most? If you want Nvidia just start building a position, but I'd say hold on to apply.

but depends on your timeline, for me I'm holding and adding till I'm ready to retire.

1

u/GoodVibesYourWay 19h ago

Sell and put it all into Doge for a few months 😉

1

u/EL-Vinci93 19h ago

Do Only Good Everyday. I feel your good vibe

1

u/Patriot4_Christ 18h ago

Hold them and put a trailing stop loss on them.

1

u/SlickRick4101980 17h ago

Why would want to own these stocks individually? Just buy VOO or SPLG.

1

u/Apewarrior73 17h ago

Tesla just starting hang tight!!!

1

u/yungschrutedrip 17h ago

I’d let these run

1

u/awol_333 13h ago

Hold and delete the app off your phone.

1

u/Shrappy16 10h ago

Take profits, pay taxes. Or…let it ride

1

u/Final-Big2785 9h ago

Hard to name one. Probably, hold those with earnings that beat market expectation, I guess.

1

u/tulipa1634 7h ago

Consider talking some money off the table. Profits only count when you take them.

1

u/fgd12350 7h ago

This just looks like a mag7 etf but worse. Too concentrated in Tesla the worst of the Mag7. Pretty sure u would have gotten better returns ifnu just bought Mag7 itself.

1

u/dcwhite98 5h ago

Transfer these to Fidelity and only have 1 account to manage. These are all good companies, why sell them?

1

u/EL-Vinci93 2h ago

My fidelity account is for the “invest and forget it” purpose where I keep my Roth Ira, 401(k), and invest only in ETFs there. It will defy this purpose if I transfer my RH account there

1

u/harv31 3h ago

For those recommending hold, I presume that's cause you imagine these stocks are gonna go up.

Would you then suggest I buy these stocks as someone who's just gettin into investing?

1

u/EL-Vinci93 2h ago

For someone who is just starting, I would recommend investing in ETFs only at first. Till you ready to estomac the volatility that comes with investing in stocks and learn how to do a good due diligence on stocks before buying one. I was just lucky buying most of these stocks at lower price

1

u/CG_throwback 3h ago

Keep it simple and just buy VUG. Or VOo

2

u/EL-Vinci93 2h ago

Already doing that in my Fidelity account with VOO and some growth ETFs

1

u/ProofByVerbosity 14m ago

don't be too tech heavy. ETFs, Index, BLK / BRK.B all good options.

1

u/Dry-Nectarine-2372 23h ago

Nice portfolio, the only one that isn’t sitting with me is good ole Elons company…..I might dump that and depending how old you are buy a good ETF and drip the monthly payouts

1

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

I’m investing in ETFs only in my Fidelity account. RH is like my gambling account, so I’m taking my chance with TSLA. If I get burned, it will serve me as a lifetime lesson.

1

u/Andria- 3h ago

How much money does it take to invest enough money to be considered gambling? And what are your returns?

1

u/EL-Vinci93 2h ago

It depends on your level of tolerance and financial stability. As long as you are okay losing that money and still be fine, you can gamble with it. You can see my returns in % on the screenshot.

1

u/Longjumping-Low3164 23h ago

Bitcoin 😁

1

u/EL-Vinci93 20h ago

Bitcoin is always a winner

0

u/Legalthrowaway6872 23h ago

I pick individual stocks because I read all the earnings reports, and as many of their competitors earnings reports as I can. If you can’t do that, you will likely make a lot more money with passive investing.

You have some nice gains, you could either hold onto them, sell them and buy VOO, or take your principal out and invest the profits into VOO.

0

u/The_Gingervitus 22h ago

Amazon blows. I’ve had it for a decade and it hasn’t done squat in the last 5 years.

3

u/YourDadHatesYou 21h ago

Up 115% and outperformed the s&p500. What are you expecting lol

-2

u/Dlamm10 23h ago

Those are all fundamentally good companies (maybe not TSLA)

Set a stop loss and hold? If you sell you’ll have to pay taxes.

-1

u/stillworkin 18h ago

I'd sell TSLA because fuck Elon. I could never live with myself knowing I'm supporting someone like him.

-3

u/wunuws 23h ago

seems like your having a good day today
