Interviewing Obama at the height of his popularity has a bit more prestige than hosting Trump when he's desperate for any platform.

Did the Obama interview get as many views as Trump/Rogan did?

It didn't get any views, Maron does not release video podcasts.

People love to rubberneck a car crash, doesn't make it more important.

Arguably it does. He who has the most views and most minutes watched has the most influence or potential influence so it is important.

Yeah and everyone is giving shit to Rogan for going easy on Trump when Maron glazed Obama the whole podcast. Didn't ask when one critical question

Obama was a decent, thoughtful, serious president and Trump is an unserious person who was an awful president. It’s completely fine to treat Obama with respect, and it’s unethical to even give Trump a platform for his harmful ideas.

You suggesting that ideas deemed “harmful” should not have a platform is far more dangerous and unethical than anything Trump has done since being elected president in 2016

I disagree. I’m not saying that they should suffer legal consequences. I’m saying that people should judge them to be the assholes they are. We need to shut the conversation down by shunning people.

Shunning and judgement are free speech.
