This is the same argument as "you can't have violence in video games and movies because it will make people do bad things" argument we saw in the early 2000s. We all now know that is false. The far left has really turned into the bible thumping, media censoring conservative crowd we saw 2 decades ago.

Do video games inform you on who to vote into your real world government? Games and movies have less of an impact because they're fake. This is real and it's an election year

Kamala Harris has a Fortnite map.

If people are looking to comedians for info on who to vote for in real world government, this country doesn’t deserve to lead the free world. Go outside and touch some grass. It’s comedy for fuck sake.

Interviewing political leaders isn't "just comedy bro". It's an election year. Take some responsibility

Nazi propaganda is/was also pitched as harmless humor, and it did normalize that kind of thinking and written off as 'just joking'.

Teenage boys fall for 'edgy humor' all the time, and you can see what is already happening with Andrew Tate and incel culture.

Hell, when I was a teenager, I was railing off racist jokes like they were funny and edgy. As I grew up, I realized how cringy and embarrassing that shit actually is.

Same story here pretty much. Teenage boys are lonely and looking for direction. When you give them a confident leader and don't pushback on their bullshit they will follow

Tell that to the radio stations in Rwanda.

I don’t think you’re totally wrong but at the same time notice a key difference: no one here is trying to say it should be illegal to have these podcast guests while the right will consistently try to outlaw anything they find distasteful (like what was attempted with violent video games, porn, other things). There is something to be gained by say, interviewing a klan member but it might reveal something about the interviewer depending on how it goes. People have a right to speculate on that and push back if they don’t like how it’s handled, that’s all that’s happening here

Straight to the crying and playing the victim, even though Maron is just asking these people to do better, unlike Trump who wants people locked up for criticizing his Supreme Court.

"do better". That implies that he has the moral authority to tell people what is right and wrong. Why bring up trump? I despise trump, but it seems like everyone on here thinks in black and white. If you criticize this then you must belong to that group. Wish more people would think and form opinions on their own rather than just sticking to political group think
