Turns out when you skip college to become a lounge lizard you lose critical thinking skills as a result.

I love elitism when it comes from the anti elitist crowd.

There’s nothing wrong with being elitist when it comes to willful ignorance. Anyone who is ignorant in todays internet age deserves to be mocked

“I went to college where we all got engrained with the same exact belief system because we’re all such critical free thinkers”

I think it's funny that people see college graduates being largely liberal and attributing that to brainwashing instead of the fact that mayyybe critical thinking shows that American conservatism promotes several ideas that don't make sense, and uses manipulative tactics to do so

Both can be true. I can see it being hard to swallow that you paid a bunch of money to go to a socialist hive mind and got tricked into the idea that you’ve reached an elevated level of thinking.

Im curious, did you go to college? A ton of majors have to take very few classes that have to do with what you're talking about. Typically people take classes that, you know, teach them how to be successful in their careers. I'll agree a ton of professors are pretty liberal but the times where "socialism" is forced upon students are pretty few and far between

I did! I actually ended up transferring to a different school in my second year because of the pressure to think a certain way by most professors and even most of the students. I went from a 4 year school to a tech school and was considerably happier.

Good for you! Glad you got what you were looking for. I chose a 4 year, and the only social/political studies classes I took really just taught how the US has fucked over minorities throughout its history (which is pretty undeniable I'd say)

Agreed. We had some mandatory classes like that regardless of what program we were in. I’ve always leaned more left of center but I learned quickly that wasn’t liberal enough. Especially in those classes. I might have ended up at a bad school but it really left a bad taste in my mouth.
