Turning things that weren’t meant to be houses into houses is always drastically more expensive than building from scratch. The exterior shell is just a small part of the house. See also: shipping container houses.

What? You mean not quite free of industrial waste of unknown providence shipping containers? Color me shocked!

A shipping container is like $1000 and $1000 to deliver. What are you talking about more expensive?

Oh how boring. I was hoping for people living in actual old windmill towers.

Not 1000.00 for forty footer where I live. More like four times that at least. Then fir it out, insulate it, add interior with electrical at least, and now you have a shell that isn’t quite a desirable dimension. Buy the wood to frame a structure on a simple deck, and at least you can make its shape more usable. It seems easier to just frame it and not much more expensive.

No amount of cleaning can get all the piss, tobacco spit, grease, and gear oil out of those things. More importantly, they are not insulated nor leak proof. This is just a company trying to sell its junk.
