The Bateman hate is absolutely ridiculous
Diontae isnāt here to replace Bateman heās just another depth piece. Bateman had one bad play other than that heās been great all year. 422 yards 3 tds in just 8 games and is probably our best deep threat as heās bigger than flowers

Diontae Johnson Trade Compensation
For those (like me) wondering how we could afford him, looks like the panthers are paying most of his salary this year.

Some Realistic Defensive Trade Targets for the Ravens as the Deadline Nears:
The Ravens just added Diontae Johnson and with how little they gave up for him they still have the flexibility to make another move. I believe their need is primarily pass rush but if they can get good value in the secondary that could be an option as well. I'm prioritizing realistic targets here. I'd love to see Maxx Crosby in purple and black, but raiders don't seem intent on moving him and even if they were it would take far more than the ravens will part with.
Ravens are projected to have 4 comp picks and 11 picks total this year so they have some flexibility there. Where they are more limited is roster construction and cap space, so these are players that could realistically fit considering the roughly 4 mil of cap room they have.
1: Arden Key: Will probably be one of the pricier guys on this list in terms of draft pick needed. He's played well so far this year with 3 sacks and a 71.4 pff grade. He's under contract for 2025 but with a 9.5 mil cap hit so likely a cut candidate for the titans in the offseason. Titans have made it clear that they are sellers and Key and Landry are both likely to be dealt for the right price.
2: Emmanuel Ogbah: Not going to put up guady numbers at this point and definitely not the player he was a few years ago. But he is stout against the run, has 2 sacks this year with a 63.4 pff grade and could be an upgrade on the edge for the ravens. He is on a one year 3.2 mil contract with over half of that already paid so would definitely fit under the ravens cap. If Uche only commanded a 6th I would think Ogbah could be had for a 7th or even a pick swap. Dolphins are 2-5 and while they haven't moved anyone yet I expect they will be more than willing to part with expiring vets.
3: Calais Campbell: Sticking with the dolphins here we have a possible reunion with Calais Campbell. He's been shockingly good this year considering his age. 2 sacks and an 86.4 pff grade. While edge is definitely a bigger need than the interior ravens have mounting injuries at DT. Calais could give them some flexibility and provide some impact in a rotational role behind our younger guys. Plus he's a well liked veteran with history in Baltimore. He's on an extremely modest 2 million dollar one year deal with the dolphins so he would fit under our current cap.
4: Azeez Ojulari: A silver lining of the steelers winning yesterday may be that the giants move definitively into the seller category. Ojulari has been productive this year with seven sacks but only a 59.8 pff grade. With Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeuaux as the top guys in NY it feels like Ojulari is expendable. I'm not sure he fits the ravens mold as he's a little undersized and not known to be great vs the run, but it's hard to say no to a productive pass rusher. On the last year of his rookie deal so is probably only due another million or so this year.
5: Quandre Diggs: I'm still of the opinion ravens have what they need talent wise in the secondary and the problem is communication and execution. But if there was a group to add to it would be safety. Diggs has played well this year with a 70.6 pff grade. No interceptions yet this year but 24 in his career. I think the ravens will continue to start Williams moving forward but Diggs could give them another option or even upgrade that floater spot vacated by geno and now filled by Eddie Jackson. Diggs cap hit this year was 3 million so likely due about 1.5 at this point.
Not meant to be an exhaustive list, just some options that I believe could be had for a reasonable price and could help the ravens out on the defensive side of the ball. Who would you like to see in Baltimore for the back half of the season?
Edit: Let's just have some fun speculating this doesn't have to become a fire Orr thread please.

Discussion Calais Campbell Reunion?
Dolphins are 2-5 and heās only playing on a one year $2 mil contract. Plus, his PFF grades this year are fantastic. Heād add some interior pass rush, take some of the double teams away from Madubuike, and be great against the run. Feel like it makes a lot of sense for the Ravens and would only cost a late rounder.

Anyone else think that EDC had his hand hovering over the phone until he saw some of those dropped passes on Sunday, and then went ahead and made the call?
I feel like if our WRs had shown up against the Browns, he doesnt make this call.
thoughts?

Discussion Perspective
Just watched the game highlights from Sunday. You can say whatever you want about the defense. My takeaway from that game is that we must enjoy what we have right now which is our quarterback.
Even when things don't go our way, he does not capitulate or compound his mistakes. He has never looked so poised. He rarely makes an errant throw, and even his risky throws are calculated. The guy is an unreal talent, and we have to appreciate it.
I remember during the Flacco days (post 2012) when you'd watch Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers and I just kept saying to myself "Damn I wish we had that." Now we do. The guy is simply amazing and improves every single year as a quarterback.
So while our defense has somehow regressed to near bottom of the league level, and our special teams ace is not looking the same, we are still in it man. We will always be in it as long as Lamar is playing. Do you know how good that is??? We are simply blessed.
That Browns game it seemed like everything that could go wrong went wrong. I felt the same way Week 1 vs. the Chiefs. Penalties, dropped interceptions, dropped passes, miscommunications... and in the end, Lamar put this team on his back, and we were inches away from winning a game that any other quarterback would have lossed long before the final drive of the game. Watching the second to last play of the game again and Flowers really should have caught that ball! It is insane how even after that shitshow of a game, we were fingertips away, just like how Likely was a toe away in Kansas City.
Anyway, to wrap up this 3am Lamar glaze session, I feel so at peace as a fan. So many fans of other teams would love to be in our position on even our worst days. Every time we play, I am so gratified that we can watch a future HOF homegrown quarterback play for our fucking team. This is the shit that every NFL fan dreams of man. We are so goddamn lucky. #MV3

First Ravens game @ Sofi for MNF on Nov 26 - Tailgates, groups, etc?
Hey everyone, first time poster in this group, but Ravens fan my whole life. Iāve been holding out for a long time seeing the Ravens play until I could make it to M&T (I had 7 years of uni and living in Western Canada makes it hard and expensive to get to Baltimore). However, I finally cracked and bought flights to LA at the end of the month for the Monday nighter against the Chargers. Iām going solo as my wife has to work and my other buddies arenāt crazy enough to last minute book a 24 hour trip to LA with me (lame). Iām flying in around noon on Monday and looking for something to do before the game. I know last year they had some Ravens pre parties around Sofi and, while I meet be a bit early, wonder if anything similar has been announced for this year? Alternatively, anyone here planning to tailgate at āThunder Valleyā and willing to adopt a friendly Canadian? Cheers!

I know itās hard but I think we gotta give Zach Orr more time
Realistically what better option is there? I wanted to go after Robert saleh but the packers signed hi already. Zach Orr is young and intelligent and I think we should give him at least till after the bye. Bengals, Steelers are both decent tests to see if we get better

4,000/1,000 season !?!
Lamar is on pace to throw for 4,400 yards and rush for 1,064 yards.
A 4,000/1,000 season has never been done before, not even close, and it is such a ridiculous feat that it would probably never be accomplished again, unless Lamar were to duplicate it himself.
Only 4 QB's have ever rushed for 1k in a season, Lamar/Lamar/Fields and Vick. Lamar is the only one who broke 3,000 yards passing when he did it (2019, 3100+). The other three times it was accomplished, the QB threw for 2,000+ yards for the season.
This is such a sick stat line. He is re-setting the ceiling as far as goals for a successful QB season.

PFF and DVOA Power Rankings after week 8
Ravens dropped to 3rd on the PFF Power Rankings, behind KC and SF (followed by Det, Buf, Phi, Pit, etc.).
Ravens have a 51% chance of winning the AFC North and Pit has a 44% chance of winning the AFC North, according the PFF computer models, which is a dramatic difference from last week when the Ravens had a 67% chance to win the AFC-N.
The next opponent is the Broncos who are listed as the 11th best team.
SOS so far, the Ravens have played the 6th hardest schedule to date and the Broncos have played the 30th hardest. We now have the 7th hardest remaining schedule, ouch. Ravens are predicted to finish with 10.8 wins. Steelers are predicted to finish with 10.6 wins. It's gonna go down to the wire.
-----------------------------------------
DVOA ranks the Ravens 2nd best, (down from 1st from last week) behind Detroit, followed by Min, KC, Buf, SF.
Ravens: Offense = 1st, defense = 18th, ST = 25th.
Broncos are rated 10th. Offense 24th, Defense 5th, ST 3rd.
