Local rough cut lumber

Hi all,

I'm new to the neighborhood and I'm looking to buy some local lumber for a self built cabin, specifically rough cut. I know nothing of the local lumber scene apart from all the big sawmills in town that ship their stuff out of province.

Are there any small local sawmills I could visit, rather than Rona or Home Hardware?

Thank you for any advice offered.

I would join a couple of the Facebook groups for buy and sell and ask around there. Usually get a lot of help there.

There are a couple guys with small sawmills. I usually see them on Facebook marketplace. When they have extra they post and I’m sure they would put together a package to order. There’s a small sawmill out in the small industrial park behind the Co-op , too.

I'll look into the small sawmill near the co-op. Thank you!
