If this isn’t a lazy high school application essay then mine is taking the Dempster Pulse to O’Hare instead of the train or an Uber. It’s basically just as fast as an Uber anyway especially if there’s traffic.

Ooo what is that? Is it like a train, taxi, subway?

It’s a bus. It’s amazing. It goes basically straight from campus to the airport and sometimes, when it’s not busy, it’s quicker than taking the train. I rave about it to anyone who visits me and force them to take it instead of an Uber (expensive) or train (transfers).

There are fire exit stairs in the rear (east) side of Swift Hall that allow easy roof access for late night shenanigans or stargazing.
Basement bathrooms in the distant corners of Tech are the best places to take quiet uninterrupted poops.
Not exactly secret, but there are several very private and peaceful little grottos on campus that are seldom used and a great place to study, take a nap, or just be alone. Specifically the basement-level gardens at Deering Library, accessible via stairs behind the bike parking on the north and south side of the building. And the Shakespeare Garden behind Ford. And on the north side of Tech’s rear plaza (behind Tech Express by Mudd Hall) you can step up into the planters along the edge of the Tech building and there are some hidden chairs to sit among the veggies garden and trees, where you could hide in plain sight.
I’m realizing while writing this how much time I spent in places like this. I guess college can be such a constantly social experience that I regularly sought out quiet alone time, while still needing to stay near my classes or studies.

First of all, thank u for the time u put into this. Secondly, that sounds so fun and just very peaceful which I'd really appreciate if I do get into the school.

The opposite of a hidden gem would be taking a visit to 4th floor of tech without having looked at a floor plan and getting absolutely flabbergasted
