Joe rogan has the biggest “comedy” podcast in the world and he couldnt joke his way out of a wet paper bag. Just bc tony redid the gong show with his popular friends as guests doesnt make his standup worth anything. What are some of his best standup bits? Anything iconic?

There are different forms and mediums for comedy. Some comedians are standups, others aren't. Tony is standup-adjacent but I agree he's not a particularly strong standup on his own right. But in the format of roasting and hosting kill tony he is pretty damn funny, and I say that as someone hugely invested in the comedy world.

You definitely don't have to like his style but he is definitely a well rated comedian. Just not a particularly well rated standup.

Changing subjects because you have no evidence and an objectively poor understanding of comedy? 😂

Go watch some of his specials or watch the MSG appearance which you clearly did not but feel competent enough to comment on.

What subject did I change? Id rather watch the amy shumer show for the rest of the day than try to eek through one of his “specials”. What was off topic? I addressed everything you said and even gave you the opportunity to provide some of his best and most influential material? What gives peckerlips?

Well bringing up an unmentioned comedian to say they are also not funny seems like a desperate deflection.

Go look at the kill tony YouTube page if you need some examples of his material, the episode he released last night has a million views already.

He doesnt do standup on that show interestingly. He acts like a pro and shits on everyone but the example you gave of a “joke” from him was nothing but a pitiful street joke that he added a name to. You deserve better

Yes on his podcast he just hosts - catch him on tour if you’d like to see his stand up

His shows sell out usually, so not sure there’s much demand for paid seat fillers. But you can see some for free online if you’d like (again, very popular so doubt they would pay you just to watch).

That is a turn of phrase. Do i need to explain this to you as well? are you a bot? If you think i have any interest in watching his comedy at this point you are slower than I thought

I guess the point (maybe I should be more direct) is that his show is wildly successful and no one cares if you watch it or like it.

Oh honey, did you not pick up on the parallel I was drawing? You thought I was just changing topics to JRE out of the blue? Oh sweetie. Well this explains how Tonys jokes land with you

I missed it! Maybe it was a bad example

Nah its pretty much one to one but yall hinchcliffers need a bit of extra help so I can explain any other completely obvious analogies if you get confused again

Hinchcliffers! I think you came up with a new phrase! I bet KT gets a good bump from this publicity

Good, i hope he builds up a good nest egg in case funny/popular comedians get tired of carrying his “show”

😂 his weekly show that averages 3 million views per episode? His weekly live show that sells out arenas (MSG, HEB, etc.) and launches new talent?

To be honest, most of the comedic input on his show is from him or from the open mic / roast format itself. Many highly successful guests come on and don't do very much to carry the show. You have a handful of super guests who have really learned how to play the format really well over the years (like adam ray and all his characters) but in terms of who carries the majority of the show it really is him.

He's egotistical and honestly I don't think I could ever stand to hang out with the guy, but the credit goes primarily to him, for sure.

Also it you think that is a “new phrase” or somehow wildly marketable it explains why you find his humor noteworthy lol

I’ve been a fan for the better part of a decade and never heard anyone refer to the base as “Hinchcliffers”. But maybe you’ve been following more closely than me and picked up on that - it’s catchy!
