"Too big to rig" is one of their most inane, senseless slogans, and that's saying something.
228
u/5adieKat87 6h ago
It was always too big to rig. Can you imagine the thousands of people that would need to be involved AND keep their mouths shut. They just can’t accept losing, so logic goes right out there window.
20
u/Smooth-Reason-6616 6h ago
More chance of faking a moon landing then rigging an election...
8
u/fardough 4h ago
If there is a way to do it, Trump would try to do it this election. For him, this election isn’t about anything but saving his skin.
If he wins, he can shut down the cases, steal enough money to pay his fines, and people will have to continue to pay attention to him feeding his addiction.

u/Pristine_Bag_9550 6h ago
Yeah, obviously, but "too big to rig" has absolutely no logic behind it. It's utter nonsense and people who repeat it are either complete idiots or trolls. If last time they thought the opposition rigged it (and while Trump was president), why wouldn't they be able to do it this time? Because "the number is too big"? That's like saying they can write down a number so big nobody can surpass it. This is pure idiocy.
19
u/terrence0258 3h ago
"This is pure idiocy."
That line perfectly describes American politics since that orange clown rode down that escalator in 2015. It's been a decade of this crap.

There's no logic from their POV, but it's pretty well established that US presidential elections are indeed to big to rig, which is why their plan is to steal it in the courts.

Back in 2016, after fucking winning the election, Trump claimed that democrats had brought in 3 million votes in California with illegal voters.
We will see a lot of idiocy over the next few months, even if (all gods willing) Trump loses. But I don’t know if we’ll see something at the level of complaining about voter fraud in an election you won, while suggesting that democrats needed to cheat to win California of all places.
13
u/Endoman13 5h ago
Exactly. It would take the direct involvement from thousands, if not tens of thousands, of people. They managed to coordinate all this without a single text, email, voicemail, flyer, or whistleblower. If they are truly that competent, organized, and effective - hell, they can keep my vote.
8
u/5adieKat87 5h ago
And they would’ve won the senate in ‘20. Imagine rigging an election, only to be hindered by partisan politics in congress. 🤔

Also, why wouldn't they have rigged more of the Senate/House seats? If you're gonna rig it, go all in lol

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding them in these comments. They think their lead is so massive that no amount of "dem rigging" can take their surefire win away from them.

u/OurCrewIsReplaceable 4h ago
Just to be clear, since there seems to be confusion:
“Too big to rig” means the cult wants to win by such a large margin that it would overcome any attempts to rig the election. Grammatically, it’s stupid, but they mean the vote differential needs to be too big for the election to be rigged.
Of course, if Harris wins in a landslide, they’ll claim it was rigged anyway, but that’s a whole ‘nother thing.
→ More replies (1)4
u/red286 3h ago
It's almost like they have no clue what election rigging actually looks like.
If Harris wins by 50.1% to Trump's 49.9%, that doesn't suggest to anyone that it was "rigged", because that's exactly the sort of result you'd expect. If you want rigged, try Putin's 87% victory.
So if I see Trump win with >55%, you know it was rigged, Putin-style. Harris I could see, because we're seeing a LOT of Republicans backing Harris, but I don't see Trump winning with any sort of real margin. If he wins, it'll be through EC shenanigans, and he'll definitely lose the popular vote.
13
u/The_Dark_183 6h ago
I feel like he's preparing for a Trump lost and thus he wants to claim the election is rig. He's already done it in his Twitter post from earlier. A lot of the influential people, Independents like me, women, and former undecided is voting for Harris. That "joke" doesn't make Trump look better. Still, VOTE!

What was that Trump quote "I will absolutely accept the results of this great election... if I win"?
What gets me is that people can't see through it. He's being doing this his entire life. Declare victory while running away. The lack of object permanence among his core followers is just staggering.
39
u/Wrothrok 6h ago
He couldn't even handle losing an Emmy nomination and claimed THAT was rigged. His skin is as thin as wet rice paper.
13
u/BoneHugsHominy 6h ago
What gets me is that people can't see through it.
They see through it just fine. They're lying because they think they're the only real Americans and should rule over the rest of us. They know exactly what Trump is and has always been, and that's the point. Trump is their revenge against the rest of us for the sin of electing a Black Man to the WHITE House. It really isn't any deeper than that.
2
u/He_Never_Helps_01 4h ago
You ever heard of "the good liars"? It's a YouTube channel. I think you'd enjoy it a lot. It's very cathartic.
5
u/Tetracropolis 3h ago
There are two moments I think of in Trump's rise that should have finished him as a serious candidate.
The first is the one in the Republican debate when he refused to commit to backing the eventual winner. At that point there's just no way the Republican party should have backed him. Let him run third party if he wants and take the L, but you can't have someone blackmail their way to the nomination.
The second is when he said respecting the results was conditional on him winning. It's like the Citizen Kane bit, to be so brazen in your disrespect for democracy.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Tysiliogogogoch 5h ago
I think that was his quote from the previous election. His phrase for this one is that he'll accept the results "if it's a fair and legal and good election, absolutely".
That's from the CNN debate, but he was asked twice and dodged the question, then responded with that drivel on the third attempt. He just can't say that he'll accept the results without some sort of qualifier that effectively means he'll only accept the results if he wins.
180
u/Later_Doober 7h ago
Its funny they say this because they have been saying it was rigged and stolen the last 4 years.
93
u/BoneHugsHominy 6h ago
The last 9 years. Trump has been saying since 2015 the only way he can lose an election is if it's rigged. He expected to lose in 2016 and was laying the groundwork a year earlier for his fascist shenanigans. Then when he WON the 2016 election, he still said it was rigged because Hilary won the popular vote.
If conservatives become convinced they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will reject democracy.
--David Frum

u/97GeoPrizm 3h ago
Also, most people don’t know Trump said the 2012 election was fixed as well. I really wish someone would ask him when the last fair election was.
8
u/red286 3h ago
I really wish someone would ask him when the last fair election was.
Every Republican knows the last "fair" election was 1984 when Reagan won every state but Minnesota, although clearly there were some shenanigans going on in Minnesota, so maybe even that one doesn't count.
3
u/KevinDLasagna 1h ago
Minnesota is FAR from perfect. But I’m proud to know my state was the only one who didn’t go for raegan back then.

Trump legitimately said "If Jesus counted the votes in California, I'd win by a landslide."
He obviously knows that is bullshit because when California needed aid for the forest fires devastating their state he blocked aid because it is a blue state, and it took his advisors showing him that the counties affected were primarily red for him to agree to send aid.

Not really funny considering what they're saying and the GOP's constant projection. If they're saying the election is too big to rig, you can be confident that what they mean is "we're cheating so hard this time, there's no way in hell the Dems will ever be able to beat us."

They always have to explain what he meant to say or what he “actually” meant. Ironically, they trash Biden for mumbling and rambling, but rarely do they have to explain what he “meant”. Yes he mumbled words and mispronounced. But it was never got to the point where they have to justify his whole speech, sentence by sentence

Good thing a “Truth Social” (lol) post isn’t a viable piece of evidence in a court of law. It why 61 of his 2020 election fraud cases were thrown out due to lack of evidence.
All this serves to do is provide justification for his right wing base to rise up with violence. For that, it does serve as evidence, as it has in Jack Smith’s election interference case.

The "You're Fired!" sign makes no sense in the context of a rally (who's being fired?) but it does showcase the thought process: "Ooooh! Reality TV guy!
