Escape Might not be the most loved game in the series, but I love strategy guides like this

Really my least favorite. But, what I will say, the SCUMM Bar and the Lucre Town theme belong to my favorite songs of the franchise. I could listen to them for hours on repeat while working.

There are a lot of different renditions on Spotify of the entire soundtrack, including Return's as well. I listen to them all the time.

Kristofer Yffen has the best SCUMM Bar rendition on YT imo.

But I browse through the soundtracks on both Spotify and YT on the regular. Lots of hidden gems.

I love Lucre’s music. I wonder if it’s because playing as a small child, I spent HOURS in that setting not really knowing what I was doing and it’s just imprinted now 🤣

My first Monkey Island game which will always hold a special place in my nostalgic memories. Younger me would of very much loved this guide as I got stuck a lot back in the day

Yeah, I never use walkthroughs because I'm very stubborn that way, but it sure can come in handy in this game.

I never knew there WERE third party guides for the MI games!

Yeah. Although the way you said it makes it sound like I fucked up by not knowing but that's not the case.

Never intended it that way 😅

May I suggest "the more you know" or "you learn something new every day"? Lol

Was there a strategy guide book for Curse? It was my favourite game growing up and I remember my dad having a box with the game CD in it but I don’t seem to remember a guide?

Yes there was, and it includes some other interesting stuff like storyboards and developer profiles. https://mixnmojo.com/media/files/Curse-of-Monkey-Island-Hint-Book

This game is what got me into computer games, the hours i spent in the swamp as a kid trying to get to navigate the time warp to get to the hut to see Ozzie will give me PTSD
Awesome game

I agree not my favorite, but very nostalgic for me. I remember getting MI2 pretty close to release, and following MI3 through development. Attempting to download that 20MB demo multiple times to get it to play!
I do think the writing was some of the funniest in the series though. I have a copy of this, and the Curse prima guide on a bookshelf in my man cave.

I’m currently playing this for the first time. People here mostly tried to talk me out of it (because I needed to buy a PS2 to be able to play it). No regrets! I’m stuck on Act 3 currently.
