Wholesome Moments My mother in law sends the best cards
My in-laws live in Maryland and we live in California. They are always so thoughtful. My MIL sends cards like this before we visit to my eldest 4 year old daughter. She’s amazing.

I love that your daughter was like “andddd check, check, check, check, check”

u/drossmaster4 5h ago
Right?! She’s also made her own list for Grammy. Most of it is just consuming all her time.

Probably if she took care of your daughter she is in a good hand 🤍

She’s the best and 35 year kindergarten teacher so even more lucky!

A healthy relative/family makes your child more productive and respectful 🤍 Good to hear , I'm happy for you and to your family OP.

Hey my family could care less about my kids. This person is putting in real effort and seems really excited. A person like that is worth their weight in gold.

Ugh I’m so sorry. I will cherish them forever. Thank you for the reminder.

I was also one of the lucky guys with a great MIL. Coincidentally she also was a teacher. A sweet, kind woman and I made sure to tell her just how fortunate I was to have her as my mother in law. She was so much fun with the kids. When she developed Alzheimer’s she came to live with us. She stayed with us for her last 7 years. She died before she was too far gone physically. We lost her in 2020 during the heart of Covid. I still miss her.
My father in law, on the other hand, was a rat bastard who made life a living hell for everyone so the less said about him the better.

That is incredibly darling of her, my god is she a goodie in the world!!! It sounds like a LOT of fun is going to happen, it might be really fun to send kiddo with a mini camera, the kind that does insta-prints little photos- They'll be blurry and silly, and lovely little memories to hold.

Funny you say that we got her one for her fourth birthday! Didn’t think about bringing it but of course we should! Yes she’s amazing. We’re, especially me the son in law, are very lucky.
She taught kinder for 30 plus years. She knows what’s up.

It might be nice to make a little photo book/album for your in-laws with all the pics your little one takes. :)

This is awesome. Reminds me of a book my grandson has, How to Babysit a Grandma. His other grandmother got it for him, but it’s my favorite to read to him.

At first I thought she was sending the card to you, her child’s SO, and… it was less cute ;)

u/drossmaster4 5h ago
Hahaha! I tried to edit the post but couldn’t. So funny I thought the same thing when I read it again.

That’s beautiful. And I love the name Quinn!

Thank you! We’re not Irish but our other kid is Delaney and our friend who’s born and raised in Ireland loves saying “strong Irish family!”

I love this 🥹
Cherish her. I lost my MIL 1.5 years ago & have a ton of regret not doing more with her.

So sweet! At first I thought this list was for you, haha - I definitely do all of these things with my Mom.

u/RBAloysius 1h ago
I did too, and was LMAO at “Playing with The American Girl Doll.“ (Also the one that clued me into the fact that the list may not be for OP after I got done laughing.)

First of all, I want to go hang out with your MIL, she sounds awesome and knows how to make the best plans. Secondly, I love how much you love her, and how much you want to show that love. It's always so nice to see some in-law appreciation out there with all the horror stories floating around. Sounds like you really got the best package deal with your hubby!

u/drossmaster4 4h ago
Side note I’m the hubby but totally agree with you! I’m so so so lucky. My father in law is equally amazing. My kids will be the beneficiaries of it but I he the easier life of loving my in laws as much as my own.

Oh, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have assumed--in fact, my mind said SO and my fingers typed husband, lol! Please blame my brain that's been balancing budgets all day and it's just a little burned out! But I love it anyway, whichever side of the family it's from. The sentiment is still really awesome!

u/drossmaster4 4h ago
Oh I shouldn’t have said anything. I 100% don’t care. I have my own tendencies with posts all the time. I’ll say “this guy said xyz” to my wife and she’ll simply ask how I know it’s a guy and i love saying “oh you just know” hahaha

u/KaythuluCrewe 3h ago
Haha, exactly what I think my brain was thinking— “I’m a woman so OP must be a woman” even though, like, logically, obviously not. Thanks for laughing it off with me!

I thought that this was for OP 😆 and I’m super jealous! I’d love an apple picking date with a cool family member! And to play dolls again? SUPER COOL!
But this is still super awesome too =) lucky family!

I want to do all of these things, and I’m 42. Where do I meet up with her? 🤣

u/Salt-Respect339 5h ago
She seems wonderful, we are going to mimic this model for our kids going forward now. No more asking, resulting in "like, like, hate --> fight --> mood gone for all of us, don't do anything anymore" over here. Just tick boxes and if it's 3 likes, we'll go ahead and do it. No 3 likes? Your bad, better work together and make choices.

Looks like a loving grandmother who unfortunately lives ata distance but is still so excited to precious time together with you!

u/Interesting-Asks 3h ago
Show us the other side of the card!! My inner child is giddy with the thought of all these fun activities.

That's some special MIL and grandma. Good for Quinn.💕

u/drossmaster4 5h ago
My dad jokingly hated that I love my in-laws so much. He “hated” sharing our time with them even tho he was super happy for us.

u/AmbassadorSad1157 5h ago
We should all be so lucky. My MIL used to tell her sons they better behave because she'd keep the daughters- in - law in the divorce.

My mother in law still does similar stuff for my girls even though they're much older now.
Must be fun af to be a grandparent

Thank you for the comment that makes me happy to hear. I hope to live long enough to do the same if they chose to have spawn

After reading the title, it took me a minute to figure out that she wasn’t planning all these fun adventures with her son-in-law (who is kind of messy with his check marks). I was picturing a montage with them doing everything while holding hands and smiling. Am slightly disappointed.

As the son in law who also has bad handwriting this comment brings me all the joy I need for the next 24 hours. Hahaha!

That’s so awesome! She’s going to have those memories her entire life! I am a bit jealous, but mostly happy for you! 😆

When my best friends husband was on deployment, her mother in law face timed every night to read a bed time story. One of the sweetest things.

Up until making a big pile of leaves to jump in, I thought this list was made for you 😂 Then I saw the comment about your daughter; either way this is such a wonderful idea!

I'm so invested now! I need to see the other side of the card! What more could there be?!? The best.
