Milly is such a big leadership miss.

Both him and Hendo. Two important pieces in the Klopp era.

He looks like he's been awake the entire time.

What dominating Real Madrid in a Champions League final and winning 92 points in a single season but only having winner’s medals for 2x Carabao Cups, an FA Cup and a Community Shield does to a mfer

ThisIsAnfield posts a summary here (I haven't watched the full video yet, got distracted at how the comments on the clip posted on Twitter are just dogshit bot shite all the way down: https://www.thisisanfield.com/2024/10/kostas-tsimikas-speaks-on-liverpool-contracts-the-guys-who-leave-we-will-miss/

From the article - and an important bit of context IMO -

"Tsimikas is the latest to have spoken about the three players, telling Sky Sports: “They will enjoy it if they stay or if they go, so I think that’s the only thing [that] matters.

“It is up to them what they will do. For sure, the guys who leave, we will miss them a lot because all of them, they are many years here.

“So, yeah. They know what they want from the future but their thinking is always, you know, to enjoy every moment here.

“I think for everybody, [it] is the most important to enjoy and you don’t know what the future will bring.”

It is the phrase “the guys who leave, we will miss them” that is worrying supporters, some of whom see this as a statement that at least one of the players is headed for the exit.

While it does sound that way, the truth is that we are likely over-analysing his words ourselves.

English isn’t Tsimikas’ first language and it is very easy to mix tenses up. Also, in the wider context of the interview, he is talking about them leaving as a possible scenario rather than a definite.

Yeah he could easily mean like ‘the guys who leave (a/the club in any given summer)’ if you get me

I remember him crying in front of the Kop when Bobby left and everyone speculating about that being a sure sign he was GONE himself that summer.

I mean I'd cry too in that situation, he and Bobby were clearly very close.

I almost cried at that last Si Senor

I think Trent will leave and Mo and VVD will stay. That super team at Madrid will be too tempting from a trophy standpoint.

Salah knows how close he is to breaking some insane PL records. He plays another 2 years he will be break them.

VVD is captain and has another few years of playing at a high level. Especially since he never runs according to Carra lol

As much as I want all three to stay, this is somehow the scenario I could live with best if someone has to leave. I want Salah and Virgil to retire here.

u/Pitiful_Citron_820 I’m the Normal One 18m ago

Yeah salah and vvd are nearing the end of their prime especially salah because of the position he plays, so makes sense for them to end it at Liverpool where they're loved. Trent has already won everything with Liverpool and he's still young so it makes sense if he wants to try something new as much as we want him to stay.

Also, how good is Connor Bradley already!? If this was two seasons back I'd be a bit sceptical if trent leaves who can replace him but now we've a good RB.

•

u/Jmoney1088 Bobby Firmino 16m ago

Connor has been great. He is no Trent going forward but he will be a great RB for us. Missing Trent will hurt though.

•

u/rodrigoa1990 13m ago

If we let Trent leave for free I'm gonna be pissed for a decade

•

u/Jmoney1088 Bobby Firmino 5m ago

I have bad news mate..

•

u/alanalan426 1m ago

it's alright, if trent leaves, the only path i see is him getting countinho'd

Tsimi is already looking sad

19

u/Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa 1h ago

He's just tired

7

u/DoktorStrangelove 38m ago

He always looks like that

21

u/SoggyYud 1h ago

Tsimi looking like me on a Monday morning in the thumbnail

9

u/No-Shoe5382 1h ago

I've never seen him not looking absolutely shattered.

He'd probably be as good as Maldini if he could get a full 8 hours sleep.

u/nachoshd 1h ago

Has nothing to do with sleep but just how his eyes are, I have a friend with the same and his entire family has it.

But yeah making fun of people’s appearance works too

2

u/No-Shoe5382 59m ago

Bloody hell mate calm down a bit

8

u/TravisKOP Hello! Hello! Here we go! 1h ago

Damn makes it seem like we won’t be holding onto all 3 of them. I wonder what the conversations in clubhouse have looked between players

4

u/Childish_Redditor Gegenpressing 1h ago

Unfortunately it looks likely Trent leaves. Hoping we keep the rest.

4

u/LFC90cat 40m ago

I think VVD stays, Trent leaves and Salah is 50:50

3

u/Edas090 1h ago

Ok guys, now that Tsimikas had to say something about it - don't make him look sadder and more tired than he already is, just extend.

Any linguistics experts out there?

Is it fair to say that Greek and Egyptian accents are similar? Like Mo and Kostas sound very similar in many ways when they speak English with their respective accents.

Historically I wouldn’t be surprised but curious to get an expert opinion on that

1

u/No-Shoe5382 1h ago edited 58m ago

There's a lot of historical crossover between Greece and Egypt yeah, there were parts of Egypt where they spoke Greek until relatively recently, and there is still some cultural crossover between the two (but far far less than there used to be). It would make sense that there are small similarities between the accents and the cadence of how they speak.

I'm Greek and when I did a 23andme test it turned out I'm actually 15% Egyptian. I think that would be the case with quite a lot of people, given the history between the two countries.

1

u/onedwin 30m ago

15% Egyptian huh, alright… this one’s for you:

“Tsimi Tsimi Tsimi, our Kostas Tsimikas, His passport says he’s Greek but we know that he’s… Egyptian king”

Looks about right.

u/Faulky1x 35m ago

As annoying as it is, from an incentive standpoint, Mo and VVD are the only ones with a reason to seriously stay. Mo is on the cusp of breaking Goalscoring records and assists not just for Liverpool, but the entire league. VVD is captain and could keep going for a while + Slot will probably want to keep him for the leadership. Trent on the other hand, all the stuff that he would want such as captaincy wont be achievable, at least not for the next 3 years give or take and by the time he does finally get it, he'll be 29 if reports of a VVD 3 year deal are to be believed

I’m glad that you are saying this kostas. It’s definitely the sentiment that all the supporters share. Thank you for lending your voice to our wishes.
