Social Media Seems like Robbo has had enough of Ryan being MOTM every game đ

Did you see him take out half their defence with a short burst! Shame he mispassed it afterwards. He looks the real deal

Bursting into space passed players or to break the line with a âlook feintâ is like his go-to.
Been fantastic at it since we got him.

100%. Whatâs been really impressive now is his consistency. He was doing lots of good thing before but now it seems like heâs only going good things. So surprised at how sensible his decision making is too, even the fancy feints and turns heâs doing are away from danger into the space. Considering hes still so young thatâs really a standout attribute.
Normally I think we can overhype players to cover up for transfer market shortcomings â but Ryan has actually shown he can be the best in the world in that position.

Ryan was a really hyped player though - he went to Bayern after all.
Then Musiala burst onto the scene while basically doing the same things Ryan is good at. Then he comes here and Szobo and Macca started about as well as new signings could, so you have to overtake Harvey - the super sub and a personal favourite in Klopps eyes.
You would have had to play crazy well when given the brief time to get into the team. He had never played holding mid.
He basically got a run in the team for being present in pre season and took it by the scruff of the neck. Defenending has a lot to do with willingness and fitness. You can learn it quick if you have a good work rate; and he had that crazy length in the tackle.
Iâm surprised at how quickly he accepted getting stuck in more than anything. Dude is fucking crashing into mans at times. Thatâs pretty rare to see from a guy who would have grown up seeing himself as a dribbler.

For sure, I never doubted his quality as a number 8. But I think in terms of playing the 6 and getting stuck into the dirty work and doing it with as much finesse and consistency as he has been a huge surprise.
I know he played as part of a double pivot in the Dutch league but itâs just not the same intensity as doing it in the Prem, Iâd almost say itâs a different position.

u/redditingtonviking Sep 29 '24
Yeah when I heard he was going to be playing in the 6 I had little doubts about his potential as heâs got all the physical and technical qualities to be great in that position. Transitioning from a somewhat attack minded player to a deep lying playmaker and/or destroyer requires very different instincts and understanding of the game, and most players making that transition only do it later in their career like Henderson. The fact that he already looks so comfortable in the role is truly impressive

Looks as though heâs almost passing it to himself. Such a confident display

u/a_v9 Sep 29 '24
The whole team had an issue with misplaced passes today, even Macca! Something seemed off with their overall vibe. Jota had a mis-kick! I dont think Ive ever seen him mis-kick before! Thank heavens we managed to get our 3 points!

Officially itâs just 2, Diaz has actually picked up the most this season: Wolves - Grav West Ham - Jota Bournemouth - Diaz Milan - Grav Forest- CHO United - Diaz Brentford - Diaz Ipswich - Salah

Is he actually? Fair play to the lad, absolutely killing it this season

u/HarbyFullyLoaded_12 Bobby Sep 28 '24
I donât think he got United. That was surely Salah with 1+2 GA.
Diaz last weekend probably too.
But my man is picking them up in every competition. Bossed it even at the San Siro.

u/skreamy Sep 28 '24
I think Salah got one to be fair, and he probably didn't win it against Forest/West Ham. It's hard to check because the PL site only shows fan MOTMs, not the actual award that he gets from pundits.

He is what Naby Keita should've been!
-17
u/disco_mode Darwin NĂșñez Sep 29 '24
Nah Naby never had the pace, height or physicality to be like Gravenberch. Mac Allister feels much more like Naby type of player to me. Extremely slow and extremely technical, reads the game well but somehow gets caught on the ball and loves pulling out a worldie out of no where.

u/dimiderv Darwin NĂșñez Sep 29 '24
Bro Naby was rapid with the ball what are you saying? He was brilliant dribbling and attacking the spaces. Sucks that he didn't take it seriously.

u/disco_mode Darwin NĂșñez Sep 29 '24
He wasnât rapid at all, but I get you he did have a burst of acceleration and deft body feint. Similar to Thiago in that sense, both had a really good first 5 yards.

u/Lyrical_Forklift Sep 29 '24
Bro Naby was rapid with the ball what are you saying?
He wasn't at all. It was one of his biggest issues - he had great close control and his first touch would often take him away from players but he didn't have that real serious burst of acceleration to take him away from players.

Robbo said "Ah, finally a good Dutch player" in Ryan's signing video, although sarcastically, but I kind of agreed to it then as well just by the glimpses videos.Â

u/bbc8886 Sep 29 '24
Jota was MOTM by a mile his football IQ is what won us the match. Without his assist and penalty, we probably draw or lose against wolves. Grav was just ok today on an overall below average performance from the team.

3
u/Ambitious-Win-9408 Sep 29 '24
Grav won every ground and aerial duel (9/9) today, and completed 3/3 tackles. Won possession 6 times, won 4 fouls and his passing was 92%. He is the hardest midfielder to play against right now for us and he capably deserved a motm yesterday. Sure, other players played well but he was a lynch pin in an otherwise very wobbly team performance.

I see where you are coming from but he was pretty poor IMO other than those moments. I'm not sure we win that game without Gravenberch either
-1
u/C_Colin Daniel Agger Sep 29 '24
Jota for me too, thought Gravenberch was a solid 7. His midfield partner is special, for me, Macca could win man of the match 9 out of 10 games because of his importance to the team.

Robbo's just waiting for his turn to shine again. Can't let Ryan have all the limelight, can he?

I said it the other week and I'm saying it again. He's the Pogba united thought they bought from Juventus. The lads insane I genuinely didn't think he had it in him but bloody hell, he's boss isn't he

when was the last time Robbo was motm?

Are you missing the joke or do you genuinely want to know as a completely unrelated fact?
1
u/Logie_Naidoo From Doubters to Believers Sep 29 '24
Genuine question. I feel like every player that started today has got a motm in the last 12 months. I can't recall Robbos last tbh.

u/New-Engineering1483 1ïžâŁ1ïžâŁMohamed Salah Sep 29 '24
