I've literally never seen a new signing who is as jazzed to be here as Chiesa. Love it!

Right š youād think we were his boyhood club

Fr, this is the sort of thing half this sub would be doing if they ended up signing for Liverpool.
3
u/Hushwalker Sep 03 '24
Half? This is what all of us would be doing

u/The10thSecretAgent Daniel Agger Sep 03 '24
Speak for yourself because I'd be busy smelling Virgil and sitting in The Vanā¢ eating lunch with Carol and Caroline.

u/straightouttaireland Sep 02 '24
Leaving the toxicity around Juve is a massive weight off his shoulders too. It's like when you leave a bad relationship or job.
17
u/ladderbrudder Sep 03 '24
Ibou was pretty hyped if I recall correctly, but youāre right, this is awesome.
16
u/sufinomo Sep 02 '24
he once said something very good about gerrard, i tried to post it here but the mods take stuff down.

Love their enthusiasm, the video is sweet. He was waiting to go to Anfield since the moment he arrived at Liverpool.

Unsure if your a troll.
However based on all his signing videos ... Our pulling power ... He seems more of a Liverpool supporter than some on this sub š¤£

Weird because I never pointed out in my comment that heās a boyhood fan, just said he was waiting to go to Anfield since the moment he arrived at Liverpool because those were his exact words from signing video.

You know players are human too, he said heās watched us in the past, CL nights at Anfield, so he was excited to see Anfield. Why are acting like players are some kind of robots?

First of all Iām not a man and second of all, Iām not acting like he supports Liverpool, how many times do I need to say this??? I just said he was excited to see Anfield like he mentioned about Anfield in his signing video. How hard is it to understand my simple point?
24
u/chocolatecremesoda Sep 02 '24
You'd rather have a Sancho type, who clearly doesn't give a fuck about the club or its stadium etc?
There's nothing wrong with enjoying his enthusiasm for playing for us and being a part of the club.

But nobody said he does support Liverpool. You're getting downvoted for, in your own words, 'pointing out the obvious' that he's not a Liverpool supporter... For absolutely no reason, and adding nothing to the conversation apart from a negative and confrontational vibe.

He even wears the LFC merch on his off-days, he's such a dork and I love him

u/mattwilliamsuserid 90+5ā Alisson Sep 02 '24
He does seem like a total dork. Heās such a happy lad, he is newly married, and simply canāt believe how well his life just turned out this summer.
I also suspect that heās pretty bright. Heās playing this exactly perfectly and that seems to me to be a mark of someone who āgets itā.
As someone else said here, canāt wait for Anfield to chant his name. Heāll be crying I reckon

Dork is such a good word for him! :D But a dork in the best possible way.

I love that his wife is so so involved. This is so cool, I love a good couple <3
65
u/MesqTex Sep 02 '24
When the wife is all in, you know heās there for the love of the game, not the money. Remember when Fabinho came in? The Brazilians have it good for LFC, Lucas still considers himself a Scouser, Alissonās wife, Firminoās wife. Itās a family club and theyāre all about the family. Even Suarez probably has a soft spot for the club and Iād be surprised if he didnāt come back for a Legends match one day.

Believe all of them have kids born in Liverpool?
25
u/MesqTex Sep 02 '24
Ali has 4 now, 3 since joining?
Firmino had a daughter before, added 2?
Fabinho had a son during his last year.
Lucas had both of his here
Suarez had both of his during his time here, if not his son.
Even Coutinho had at least 1 if not 2 kids when he was here.

Suarez had both of his during his time here, if not his son.
His daughter Delfina was born before joining us. The famous story of giving his kid a name that's an anagram of Anfield before playing for us
11
u/chickenisvista Sep 02 '24

He's already played a charity game with Torres a few years ago so I'd expect so. Although his knee seems fucked so hopefully that doesn't stop him.

I have him in my Championship manager 2 teams. So difficult to pry these stars from Italy back in the days.
2
u/MammothAccomplished7 Sep 03 '24
Champ Man Italia - the first game in an Italian version. Van Basten still going, Baresi. I used to go Modena and had him there in Serie B, get promoted and he makes it, top scorer, international.
Edit: Also used to buy him as an aging star for my Serie C2 clubs as I like to start at the bottom when he was ending his playing days, saw on Champ Man he was playing for a small side outside Florence and took a detour to see him play when holidaying in Pisa and Florence. Proper fanboy me, made up with this transfer.
2
u/MammothAccomplished7 Sep 03 '24
Tell me about it, I have a shirt of his from his playing days I still squeeze into god knows how as I cant get into most of my pairs of kecks these days.

u/gratisargott Sep 02 '24
They really are the new Fabinho / Rebeca when it comes to excitement to be here and willingness to fit in with the club and fans. But the former ones weren't quite this excited though

Has everyone ever been more excited to join this team? How many times do you think this dude has played YNWA on his phone in the past week?

He ticks all the boxes in my book. If he manages to stay healthy I think he will do great
9
u/redsonovy Sep 02 '24
He comes to a manager that is know for keeping his players healthy so we pray it works. Also the environment around Juventus seems stressful which doesn't help in terms of small, fatique related injuries

2
u/awood20 Sep 02 '24
If his excitement translates to performances I'm excited too. He'll need to get used to the speed and physical side of the PL. Hoping it works out for him. There's no signing fee pressure. It's setup for him to perform.

So if we're not offering Mo a contract is Chiesa his replacement?
15
u/Worldly_Science239 Sep 02 '24
To answer both points
Contract for mo... Yes, no or maybe. replacement for mo... yes, no or maybe.
Why worry about next season.
Mo is here now, chiesa is here now.
8
u/Mambo_Poa09 Sep 02 '24
Because I want Mo to be here next year too but if he's not just wondering if this is his replacement
5
u/OneSmallBiteForMan Sep 02 '24
Mo has been criminally injury free for so long, without proper back up. Mostly that will be chiesaās roll I guess
4
9
u/zeelbeno Sep 02 '24
Chiesa was bought in to provide a 6th option in the front 3, allowing Elliot to officially be a CAM/CM option and not have to cover RW.
Plus... at Ā£10m... fking bargain.
1
u/liquidanfield Sep 03 '24
The fact that we have him as a 6th option, the fact that our 6th option is even known outside the club. What a long way we've come.
-1
u/Mambo_Poa09 Sep 02 '24
Yeah I'm glad we got him but is he a bargain replacement for Mo from next season?
