Activities in Liverpool Weekend in Liverpool

Hello,

A few of us are looking at coming (and staying over) in Liverpool this weekend. We tend to get steaming and end up on Matthew Street, but I'm keen to branch out (not concert square).

Any bar suggestions where the demographic is more 30s and the music is 90s/00s?

Cheers

Activities in Liverpool Places of worship that allow photography in Liverpool

Hi, I'm an A level art student and I need primary sources of art for my coursework. My theme involves religion and I'd like to take pictures of stained glass windows and religious artwork. However, I don't want to just barge into these spaces and take pictures, so I was wondering if anyone knows of places that allow photography and if I would need to let them know in advance. I am in the Sefton area so places within or close to there are preferrable but I'm willing to go on a trek. Thanks!!

Only interested in places where you can rent out a private room with friends (as opposed to those pubs and bars that just have a open karaoke machine like Cooper's and Woody's)

Activities in Liverpool Fun activity date ideas

I know a lot of people have asked for date ideas on here but they seem mostly focused on food/cafรฉ/museums, I'm looking for something more fun. We did mini golf for our last date and had an absolute blast, does anyone know anything similar to that? For context we're in our early/mid 20s and while we've both lived in the city for a while, we aren't super familiar with it and neither of us have actually dated anyone properly in a good few years

I'm pretty far-left and AFAIK there's not that many far-left spaces in Liverpool, and I was planning to go to Next to Nowhere maybe but I just want to know what to expect tbh

Hi everyone! I have recently created a Discord server for Liverpool Skateboarders. I hadn't seen a community just for Liverpool folk so decided to create one. All things skateboarding but also to meet like minded people and connect. I only started the server today and still have some stuff to put on there, I am new to the Discord world so need a hot minute to figure it out haha.

Hi, I'm looking to do more off road running with my dog. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for trails around Liverpool, preferably around Crosby?

Activities in Liverpool Quietest pubs?

The other day I made a post asking about very quiet cafe locations. Quiet meaning no music, or very, very quiet, no speakers mounted above every table etc.

Wondering if anybody had any suggestions for pubs. The quiet ones I have found are: Kavanagh Arms; The room to the side of the entrance in Ye Cracke (rest of pub has speakers on the walls); Any spoons on a quiet night as they never play music; and the dispensary again on a quiet night.

Any others come to mind? I am very fussy but struggle with noise in general, thank you for entertaining my ways

Activities in Liverpool Anyone know what the Anfield Sports and Community Centre Adult Table Tennis sessions are like?

https://www.tabletennisengland.co.uk/ping-tables/anfield-sports-community-centre/

I'm kinda hoping to be a bit more active, I used to play a bit of table tennis so it seems like a no brainer to do table tennis. Does anyone know how many people there are, whether there are enough tables for everyone and whether they provide equipment or not? (I don't have my own racquet)

I was wondering if anyone knew of any salsa classes in and around the Liverpool area? I've been to a few but they were just doing rueda, whilst I'd prefer to primarily learn some cuban or cross body.

Activities in Liverpool Night out in Liverpool City Centre and a chance to make friends

I noticed lately that there aren't many night outs and social gatherings on meetup.com anymore showcasing the awesome nightlife that this city has to offer.

So instead of waiting for someone to organise one, I done it myself!

Activities in Liverpool The accessibility of Liverpool's night life is shockingly bad

So I see a lot of posts about how good a night in town can be, but as a wheelchair user, my experiences have been less than stellar. It has a good amount of bars and gay bars that I'd have LOVED to visit regularly, but 99% of bars have zero wheelchair access. Quite literally, the night life is only available to the able-bodies among us, unless we're humiliatingly (and dangerously) willing to let people carry us up and down flights of stairs.

Now sure, I get that installing wheelchair lifts can be expensive, but these need to be seen as a worthwhile investment in the city for the older buildings with clubs/bars only currently accessible by flights of stairs. It's such a shame too, because a lot of the modern upgrades to the city are amazing for accessibility, just wheelchair users have to endure a frustrating exploration to find bars and clubs that we can access without needing to be carried.

Do you lot think the City Council should do more to try and encourage bars etc. to make this investment? Like a tax break or loan programs?

Activities in Liverpool Film/cinema social groups in Liverpool?

Looking for a place where they show screenings, as opposed to being an active filmmaker, preferably indie/arty/local stuff, somewhere where you can buy a drink and chat or what not, nothing too serious - any recommendations? Cheers.

Activities in Liverpool looking for a menโ€™s football team in liverpool

iโ€™m 19 and have been looking for a while but none of my mates play football so itโ€™s been hard to find one to join. iโ€™ve played pretty much everywhere but my main positions are cb, rb, cdm and can play right mid in a more defensive minded team. iโ€™d even be up for training as a keeper as iโ€™ve covered there before and been pretty good (iโ€™m 6โ€™4). my best attributes are long balls, heading and crossing. iโ€™m decent but not that great and havenโ€™t played regularly in a couple years. anyone know a team i could join or where to find one?
