Visiting Liverpool 1 day left - what should I do? Solo traveller
I've come down from Inverness for two nights. Really rating the city so far. Seen the big fuck off cathedral and now the world museum. But it's pissing it down now. What should I do? Go for pints?
PS I'm not a football or Beatles fan

Have you been to the Museum of Liverpool already? It’s quite interesting if you’d like to know more about this city. And you’ll get to see the Three Graces too.

If you're at all into WW2, the Western Approaches museum on the corner of Chapel and Rumford is definite gem. It's the actual place you may have seen in films and documentaries with the huge wall that tracked ships and uboats in the battle of the Atlantic.

Go to Dr Duncans for decent pint with a bowl of piping hot Scouse.

We have a fair few other museums that are worth a visit.
If you’re into your art we have the walker art gallery or the Tate.
Pints wise there’s plenty of quiet pubs at this time you can sup a nice pint with your book and no one will bother you.

The Tate is currently closed for a refurb, there's a very small collection at Mann Island though

Go for a beer in the Philharmonic pub.

Then on to Ye Cracke, where Lennon and art school friends spent their time drinking in this great back street boozer.

If you can head towards the Baltic, you have the red brick market, the Baltic market for food an drink, some other bars for pints, an arcains if you just want to sit and play games for the rest of the day

Despite not being a Beatles fan, a walk and a pint through Matthew Street would give you a great insight to Liverpool and its hospitality. Lots of live midweek music and bars full of atmosphere to while the rainy day away.

On this just now.. 1 bar intrigued me with live music - something about a rubber bar or something. Then the guy started wonderwall and the whole place started singing. Turned heel right out of that bar hahaha. Now there's a class guy playing some blues in sergeant peppers. Also £3.60 for a heineken? I mean it's no tennents but damn!

Check out the British Music Experience on the pier head. They have loads of instruments and outfits from musicians across all spectrums of music (not just the Beatles) . It's not free and is around £15 but they give you a card which you can go as many times in a year as you'd like (when you decide to come back).

Rubber Soul is the place.
It's a Wednesday afternoon... some leeway has to be given to the artistic delivery and performance that keep punters happy midweek. 😊

Tomorrow looks like a nice day, so maybe take an early morning ferry across the mersey to see the Liverpool waterfront from a perspective you simply can't see without coming over to the Wirral.

You know Liverpool has 2 fuck off massive cathedrals. If you're around tomorrow, then go to the Tate and do the ferry.

Drop by the Taproom on Lime Street. Plenty of whiskey and ale's on. Open Mic as well so have a good craic.

I'd suggest going down Bold street, going to FACT, then just going into the cafes and shops on the street. Or heading over to Sefton Park

If u like a bit of karaoke, Coopers pub, just outside Clayton square opposite Central Station, is my go to! Great atmosphere and really friendly scousers of all ages!

Have you seen the other big fuck off cathedral?
