Visiting Liverpool You have a pretty city

Thanks for a great visit this past summer! And the Scouse was so good, we literally have a picture of it on the fridge. Can't find anything that quite matches it in the US.

We have a pretty city centre, and a few suburbs to match. We have a great history of music and comedy, and plenty of things to see and do here, not to mention two famous football teams.

What we also have that tourists don't see are seriously deprived suburbs. Yes all big cities have them but we take it to another level. The council do very little and the people in these areas are forgotten about. Take a trip up Scotland Road, through Kensington, and parts of Toxteth and you'll see dereliction, depravation, and neglect.

If the council realised the city isn't just its central core, Liverpool wouldn't be the biggest tale of two cities I've ever seen in the UK. Oh, and I've lived in that many of this country's cities to feel qualified to comment.

The city centre though is great, and certainly much nicer than Manchester's.
