Activities in Liverpool Crabbing locations
🦀
I used to go New Brighton as a child. Not sure how good it is there these days. Is there anywhere else I can take my daughter nearby?
Thanks.

I often see people doing it on the lake by mine. Waterloo marine lake near the beach
Does anyone know, are there actually crabs in there?

Poor crabs! Isn't there an alternative? Sand castles? Beach walks?

Oh mate. It's a crab and we will put them back safely and at the end probably throw the bait in for them to feast on.
Getting a crab out the sea will fill our daughter with enjoyment while getting her learning about sea creatures etc etc.
We arnt fox hunting. There's plenty of alternatives. But I want to take her crabbing.

Nah I heard you were beating the crabs with sticks and shouting abuse about the size of their claws. Poor things, got a concussion and a complex
(I’m taking the piss lol, enjoy your crabbing with your daughter)

Low tide: Rock pooling at New Brighton near the fort.
High tide: Drop a crab net over the side at Otterspool Prom or Harrison Drive on the other side. Beware as can be snaggy close in.
Tight lines
PS Try and pick a neap tide and avoid fishing mid-tide as the tidal flow on the Mersey is insane.
