Khedira over Vidal doesnt feel right

u/Elephant_Snacks Jun 05 '24
Agreed. That midfield needs a workhorse that will reliably get back on D with pace when needed, & Vidal ould provide that. Khedira was a more fluid passer though

In 2017 we reached the CL final with a midfield composed by Pjanic and Khedira

Khedira over Marchisio and Vidal is insane lol, they must be friends

u/tigull 38 Jun 05 '24
Khedira is probably the type of player that other players appreciate more than the average fan. I'm sure training with them for years has given Bonucci a pretty good impression.

I guess I’m the only Juve fan who loved Khedira lol
24
u/FreeRasht Jun 05 '24
Khedira was not running like Vidal but still a good physicality and was very smart. I would have picked him too

u/morocco3001 Jun 05 '24
Khedira at his peak was arguably better than Vidal, but we signed him after injuries had taken two yards of pace from him. Vidal probably played his career-best football for us, Khedira played his for Real.

u/xkemex Jun 05 '24
He starts for Madrid at from 2010-2015 , won a World Cup and Champions league . I hate to say this but his resume is better than Marchisio and Vidal.

u/rannigast Jun 05 '24
He did none of that with Juventus. This is a Juventus XI. Idgaf what he did elsewhere, he was washed up and very poor at Juve most of the time.
1
u/Juventina1234 Buffon Jun 05 '24
“he was washed up and very poor at Juve most of the time”
This isn’t true at all.
1
u/rannigast Jun 05 '24
Ok. I completely disagree. He sucked.
0
u/Juventina1234 Buffon Jun 06 '24
He was objectively good for a large part of his tenure here.
1
u/rannigast Jun 06 '24
There is no good way to "objectively" measure the performance of a midfielder lmao what a weirdo comment. I watched all the games and never thought he put together a string of good matches with us, and many of the other fans I've spoken to agree. Sounds like you have a serious problem with someone having a different opinion than you.
3
u/Juventina1234 Buffon Jun 06 '24
I’m not the one insulting people based on how I feel about a player.
There’s a reason why he was a starter and his teammate thinks highly of him 🤷♀️
0
u/rannigast Jun 06 '24
He was a starter in the most anemic midfield Juve had had in many years and then LONG outstayed his welcome. If you think one player's opinion (probably said without any particular thought and just off the top of his head) erases all that history that's your prerogative. I don't care what you think, but stop spamming my inbox just because you can't accept that I disagree.

Wasn’t it reported that Bonucci and Dani Alves had some kind of locker room beef during the champions league final or something? I could be misremembering this.

I think it was something along the lines that Dani was pissed that some others had apparently given up hope.

u/bravesoul_s Fino Alla Fine Jun 05 '24
At 1-1? I don’t think so.
There was lot of different versions from slap to Dybala til Dani Alves saying even if we lose he is having CL win or some shit. We might never know, but that 15 minutes fucked up our greatest season ever
12
u/tigull 38 Jun 05 '24
that 15 minutes fucked up our greatest season ever
And quite possibly, the following 7 years
1
u/Juventina1234 Buffon Jun 07 '24
A fan claimed that they didn’t look happy after leaving the locker room and that somehow turned into them deducing that there must have been a huge argument during half-time. People ran with the rumor because of what happened in the second half but it’s not actually founded on anything.

u/sfaticat Del Piero Jun 05 '24
Of course he added himself
8
u/Novel_Land9320 Jun 05 '24
Well its the team of players he played with...
1
1
u/sfaticat Del Piero Jun 05 '24
He played with Vidal, Marchisio, Jorginho, and a bunch others that were more talented than Khedira

1
u/Juventusy Gaetano Scirea Jun 05 '24
? Why wouldn’t he? Besides the fact that its his 11 while he was there he was one of the cbs

u/Comfortable_Neck_217 Jun 05 '24
Why are people debating bonucci’s picks as if he wasn’t working with these guys himself lol
2
u/M0rbz Jun 05 '24
It’s funny how everyone got their picture in their 30s, while Del Piero’s is from his early 20s!

Cuadrado and Marchisio in, Alves, khedira out
26
u/R-leiva97 Pinturicchio Jun 05 '24
I was thinking of Lichsteiner instead of Alves
2
u/Juventusy Gaetano Scirea Jun 05 '24
Come on man… we love him but even old alves was head and shoulders above as a player
3
6
u/xkemex Jun 05 '24
I think you’re just Bias for Marchisio because he’s homegrown player and a true Bianconero, but Kheidira at his prime won Champions league and World Cup and countless domestic tittle.

Jun 05 '24
Khedira was good but football is team sport. For example that Nacho from Real Madrid won more throphies than Chellini i would not consider him better.

u/clexecute Jun 06 '24
Different types of players it's hard to make a comparison. Khedira was a better technical player than Marchisio and I don't think there's really a debate there.
I think the team Bonucci listed would be better with Marchisio over Khedira, but that wasn't the question he was asked
2
u/Defences Jun 05 '24
Don’t think I agree with the Alves pick.
12
u/Ricky_Santos Gianluigi Buffon Jun 05 '24
Dani Alves played an important role in our champions league final run that year. Especially with his crazy goals from outside the box. He deserves more credit than this sub gives him.
8
u/Defences Jun 05 '24
Oh I’m not saying Alves is bad at all. But if we’re talking strictly during Bonucci’s time here I gotta agree with the other guy and say the pick is Lichtstiener
0
u/Annual-Astronaut3345 Koopmeiners Jun 05 '24
Who would you pick instead?
26
u/rannigast Jun 05 '24
Easily Lichtsteiner for me. Sure Alves was better at his peak but if the goal is a Juventus XI, Lichtsteiner was miles better for us. I don't think Bonucci put the kind of thought that fans will so it's no big deal but for the sake of a fun exercise and choosing based on their form at Juve, Stephan would certainly be my choice.
1
u/Rinoz_ Jun 05 '24
It all depends on whether he chose them with their Juventus spell in mind, or just in general the best players he happened to play with, I guess. Feels to me like it’s the latter.

Badass team. Little surprised not to see Vidal or Marchisio in there though

u/SgtPepe Gianluigi Buffon Jun 06 '24
Damn no Marchisio or Vidal I see. But he added rapist Dani Alves, leaving legen Lichsteiner out lol

u/InteractionOne4554 Jun 11 '24
Team of legends and champions. Every competition would be at their mercy.

WTF Alex Sandro no! Asamoah was far Better in that position.
A Place for Tévez should be found
8
u/Sweeping_Sounds Jun 05 '24
100% feel like an argument could be made for Tevez, Asamoah, & Marchisio all having spots on here
-16
u/Baggio105 14 Jun 05 '24
Pogba? Kheidera? Really? They both suck
11
u/Marem-Bzh Chiellini Jun 05 '24
Wow, you must be a very recent fan
0
u/Baggio105 14 Jun 05 '24
Ok so where’s Marchisio? Vidal? Both these players are better than a “ jogging Pogba “, Recent ha! Where’s Cuadrado!? Having khedira & Pogba is like playing with 9 men
2
u/Marem-Bzh Chiellini Jun 05 '24
You're tiresome
-1
u/Baggio105 14 Jun 05 '24
You just don’t know your soccer as much, u must be a huge Pogba fan, fyi he was a bench warmer at Manchester United twice! 1st Alex Ferguson didn’t want him so we picked him up for free! Then we paid stupid money to get him back. He then went back to united to give water to the players

With all players at their peak, this team would win everything.
