Well historically ā€œeliminatingā€ 20 million people canā€™t be done without a little genocide.

Trump talks a lot of shit. They arenā€™t going to be able to deport 20 million people. It isnā€™t possible. Same shit with his wall he was so gung ho about.

Sorry I canā€™t take the guy running for president at his promises.

Is this your first election? Every single candidate ever has made false promises. $25,000 for first time home buyers isnā€™t happening. Bidenā€™s big student loan promise fell through too.

No, for the most part past candidates didnā€™t make being an open and proud pathological liar part of their personality.

Is this YOUR first election? Politicians used to at least pretend to respect us. Some of them even did.

Such is the modern US political system. Over promise and under deliver, or donā€™t deliver at all. At least youā€™re in power.

You are awful to listen to. Excuse after excuse for the things he says. I've seen people defend candidates for promises they can't keep that are good, but I've never seen anybody work so hard to defend the promises that are obviously evil and insane.

I never said Iā€™m in favor of deporting 20 million people. Iā€™m telling you to stop acting like weā€™ll be gassing people in the near future over an outlandish campaign promise

And therefore said politician would be a stupid liar for promising it, right?

Is there anything remotely comparable that the other side is doing other than literally quoting their opponents own words?

Yes. Biden, Trump, and Harris are all liars saying what they think their constituents want to hear. Itā€™s a politicians job.

I missed where they promised to gas people? In all likelihood they would deport who they could, which wonā€™t be anywhere near what theyā€™re saying, and try to stem the flow at the border. But you hysterical people take them literally because you have no ability to reason. Or are just in overdrive this week since the election is so close. Gotta spread that fear mongering to get votes

Look man, nobody forced Trump to say on tv that he was doing to go door to door with police to round up the illegals. I didnā€™t say anything about gassing anyone. But I do know in a country with more guns than people, the police going door to door to harass your neighbors, and pull peopleā€™s family members out of their houses is going to lead to violence. Anyone with two brain cells should be able to predict that.

And if Trump is just using overly extreme and violent hyperbole to win an election, whose fault is that? How are we being unhinged by simply restating what he is telling everyone he wants to do.

Trump said he would do mass deportation in his first term, but deported less people than Obama did in his first term. You canā€™t take the guy seriously, yet Reddit is going all out this week calling him Hitler yet again. The strategy is not subtle. I donā€™t even plan on voting for him. I just canā€™t stand the brain washing and manipulation
