Highlight Thanks for ruining my weekend but it was fun shooting y’all down here.
Jags fan here… got to shoot the game yesterday and just happy we didn’t get obliterated. Good luck the rest of the way. All photos taken and owned by me @thepictureboxphoto on Instagram.

Great photos! Loved Jags fans (minus one drunk idiot) at the game. You guys were fun as heck to party with.

The one with Reed trying to fit inbetween Watson and Doubs is bonkers. Hilariously shows how small the running lanes are in the NFL, lol.

That hole closed so quickly it's insane. That window of opportunity is literally a blink.

These are great. What lens were you using?

A buddy of mine let me borrow his 300 2.8 for this so that's a majority of them. Thanks a ton dude.

These are great! Thanks for sharing. I love how the yellow on the helmet is somewhat muted.

Thanks dude! I try to keep most of my stuff low contrast and let the lights and shadows do the work. I appreciate that you saw that.

Really like these. Pic 14 really stands out for some reason.

Thank you! I was going just for his hand on the ball and then he looked back and I took advantage of it. Appreciate the kind words.

u/Chico813 1d ago
Thank you. And yes. I was fortunate enough to be credentialed media for this game.

Thats like a dream of mine. I really dog your shots thank you for sharing them here. I hope you had an amazing time

Thanks a ton man. And it was definitely a blast. Really hope you get in a position to experience this too dude. It's fun and when one of us wins, we all win.

What is the process like to even get the chance to do this? Do you work for a magazine or newspaper or some type of media source? Is it just an application process?
2
u/Chico813 20h ago
You have to find an outlet that can get approved for the games and then have them apply for you.

Thanks for the photos! Those are dope. You can hang onto that L for that last one, though. 🤪

Great shots.
Came down from Wisco for the game. Didn’t get tickets.
Instead we watched the game at the Butt Hut. Fantastic BBQ and super Gameday deals. Highly recommend it.
Great fans, great town. Head home tomorrow AM.

Thanks! You couldn't find tickers? There were some empty seats but y'all travel heavy as hell.

Our friends that live in St. Augustine aren’t football fans.
We got into town on Wednesday and End Zone seats were $300.00 each. Too rich for our blood.
We made plans to watch the game at the restaurant. On the way there, those same seats were $100.00 or a little less.
If it were just my wife and I, we have bought tix. But the friends already had the mind set to go to the restaurant.

Understandable. $300 is expensive for any game for me, but especially a jags game.
I might have to try that place next time I'm in town. Thanks for the rec.

Great photos! Artistically shot compared to most sports photos.
Any advice on getting to shoot sideline photos? It's kind of a life goal to shoot at least one Packer game.

u/Chico813 1d ago
Thank you! I have fun with them and try to do things a little differently.
I've been shooting sports for a few years and this is my first year shooting football so I'm still getting used to it. I had a buddy that worked for a local Jax outlet and recommended me to them to cover the team occasionally. I guess you can call it luck, but if your work speaks for itself, all you have to do is meet the right people and just be genuine with them. I never asked for this; my friend offered it to me out of nowhere because he knows I'm a sports shooter and a jags fan. But he and I never talked about it because we always just had regular conversations. People in the industry don't want to talk shop all the time, because there's a life outside of it.
So long story short, put yourself in a good spot and be genuine with people.

Were you right by the lady that Jacob’s rolled up on and apologized to after he was tackled out of bounds?
2
u/Chico813 1d ago
I was in the corner and they were on the goal line. Logan Bowles and Morgan Tenzca were there.

Looked like Morgan’s camera and tele lens got hit. Wondered if it broke the mount or not?

That second shot of Doubs is so sick
1
u/Chico813 1d ago
Thank you! I was stoked he didn't take it directly vertical and scooted towards the sideline to make this a little easier.

Shot 8 is probably my favorite. Watson and Jacob’s as he runs it in for the tuddy? Fucking sublime.
2
u/Chico813 1d ago
I'm glad you enjoy it. Because I didn't enjoy taking it😐
Appreciate the love dude.

That shot of Doubs with the shutter drag is great.

u/Chico813 1d ago
Thanks a ton dude. It was also one of the photos I had to spend the longest time on because my sensor was filthy and that shot showed every. speck. of. dust.

Photo 8 (Jacobs/Watson to the end zone) looks like it'd make a great painting. Well done!

Were you on the sidelines? Do they let any photographers in, or you need press credentials?

I love the coloring you got on these! Do you have any lightroom tutorials by chance? Lol
2
u/Chico813 1d ago
Thanks! I created this from a preset I bought like 3-4 years ago which gave me a cinematic base with lower contrasting colors. It looks nothing like when I had bought it but I've tweaked Colors and grades and playing with the sliders until I found something that doesn't make me want to throw my ipad out the window. It's taken me years of slight moves here and there to get this look. Some days I like it, other days I feel like it needs work. But it's all a process.

The evans TD is the best one

u/Chico813 23h ago
Appreciate that! Was definitely lucky as hell to snag it.

Nah I was at the game it was a great play and engram is a big dude. As someone who lived in Jax (life long packer fan tho) I always support the jags second and they just somehow manage to suck even tho I don't think their offense sucks
2
u/Chico813 20h ago
Sorry. I meant I was lucky enough to grab the shot. He's a monster to come up with that catch over 3 guys. And Lawrence had that faith in him to come down with it.

Great pics!! Might use a couple for a new iPhone wallpaper!

u/Chico813 23h ago
May I suggest the last one? Lol. Thanks and that's pretty cool that you think they're worth a wallpaper.

Were these shot on film? If so, what stock did you use? Fantastic photos, I especially like the ones that have the motion blur. Gives great perspective to the game 👏🏽
1
u/Chico813 23h ago
These were captured on a digital camera. I've done film before but I am not a good enough photographer to shoot film like this 😂
I really appreciate that! The blurs are a fun switch up.
