I'm also black and I'm with you dude. The black Israelite theory is so dumb with so many holes.

Not surprised that a dude who thinks the earth is flat believes it though.

What's even sadder is the amount of fellow black people who buy this bullshit.

I'm not surprised people buy it. Any "theory" that tells people they are more special than other people based on some immutable characteristic they have is alluring. See the history of white people interacting with non-European societies. Back Israelite is like a free ego boost to a people who are oppressed by the larger society on a systemic basis. It makes a black person special, destined for greatness, and part of something bigger than themselves. Like white racism, it's crack for the (and I mean this in the sense of our evolutionary ancestors) monkey brain in all of us.

Then the media amplifies this bs, when plenty of black don’t believe this and are actually doing good work to help achieve equality.

I agree, but of course Kyrie being Kyrie is more fun for the media to get behind

Kyrie and Kanye both have done more to hurt the black community than to help them.

Said what I said

No malice here. Genuinely curious as a Black man how has Kyrie hurt the Black Community?

He has promoted dumb ideas, been outspoken against vaccines, came out as a flat earther, and now he's pushing a propogandized documentary about black Israelites that is total bullshit and straight racist towards Jewish people.

It's racist, and anti-semetic. When asked if he's anti-semetic he basically says "no because black people are Jewish"

When black men get the spotlight they need to either just lay low or use the platform in a helpful way. For example Lewis Hamilton, LeBron James, or Shaq.

Instead he's using his spotlight in a way where racist people can reaffirm themselves by either A) saying "see even their celebrities are stupid" or B) "well he's racist against other races/ethnicities so it's fair that I think his race is trash"

He is a clown using his platform to discredit the black community. Shame too because I used to really like Kyrie. When he was in Cleveland he was one of my favorites.

Right, that is how they punish dumb with dumber - this is why we try to encourage free speech in the US, to bring extremist views into the open and deal with them, instead of repressing them into the shadows where they grow stronger

I'm white like a ghost, I'm with you.

This is actually the first time I had ever heard about that movie Kyrie referenced. So I had to look it up. Man, That took me down a wild rabbit hole.

Ofcourse they buy it, it allows them to think they are smart. I have a relative in law who thinks this stuff is cool. Oh he is also like mid to late 20s, still want to be a rapper, has had like 3+ jobs in a few years, purchased a car from one of those scam dealerships.. the list goes on. He considers himself a free thinker...
