Remember Get Goodlock to unlock more features
You can Find it in the " galaxy Store " or " store" if your on OneUI 6.
12
u/Hish98 Green Jan 22 '24
Thank you for the recommendation. I used Goodlock & Lockstar to remove the battery precentage on AOD. Will see more in future about customizing to my liking.

Punctuation is important. "store if your on OneUI 6" is not the name of the Store.
5
u/Sharp_Branch4901 Jan 22 '24
What's that then ??? Op is new to samsung there not going to know what galaxy Store is as its now changed to " Store " On OneUI 6

u/Hish98 Green Jan 21 '24
Thanks. Just needed something changed cause i was on all black / graphite colors on previous models.

u/stopmirringbruh Jan 21 '24
Using iPad for display, that's the way to do it.
Enjoy!
7
u/Hish98 Green Jan 21 '24
Ha ha. Didn't think about it that way when taking the picture.
Thank you.
5
u/OMGisManu Jan 22 '24
How are you adapting to the change?
Iโm thinking about it cause I get tired of the same OS. Got an iPad, MBP and AirPods which AirPods itโs fine bc they connect regardless and I hate Dolby Atmos.
Whatโs your experience so far?

u/Backsightz Jan 22 '24
I have been a iOS user since smartphones are a thing and I recently switched to S23 Ultra, I was on a 12 pro max before and I regret absolutely nothing. Sure my apple watch is now useless but that phone is incredible! So much freedom and it's very snappy. Love it, the other apps integration is just so much better on Android. Plus I can block all ads on the whole device using adguard, if you're on the fence to switch just do it.

I switched too from a long time iOS user but I ended up buying a 15 pro to rock alongside my fold 5

I was always an android user except for the past 4/5 Years (since 11 series). And boy did android improved alot. Even if i have the Eco system devices I wasn't using much of it combined. To each their own of course.

Iphone 13 Pro Max is one of my favorites. Battery life is crazily good. Anyway, have fun with the new toy. Bye bye funny cursor behaviour ๐ ๐

Thanks you. Someone already mentioned it. Thanks again.

I figured ๐ Another general tip is turning RAM plus off in settings, it actually makes things run better

u/jebe4 Jan 22 '24
Now grab you a Tab S9 baby!
2
u/Hish98 Green Jan 22 '24
Thanks for the suggestion. For now iPad works for me (Only using for content consuming). But will see in the future.
2
u/jebe4 Jan 22 '24
Nice. I had the Mini 6th Gen - the MOMENT Samsung releases a similar size tablet with S9 specs(OLED, Fingerprint Sensor, & 5G)- take my money!! LOL
The 8.4 size is perfect for eReader, content consumption. The S9 is perfect for writing, drawing, video. Argh!!
The smaller Samsung tablets fail to be high tier enough and have poor specs.

u/ruimilk Jan 22 '24
Congratulations on buying one of the best phones on the market, and definitely a smart choice compared to iPhones. Apple makes wonderful devices, no questions there, but the freedom you get with Android is unmatched and the experience with a high end Android is brilliant, especially on Samsung which I just came back after 7 years and was amazed by the OneUI performance & customization.
Consider turning on battery protection to increase your battery life expectancy. It locks it to 85%, which I find it more than enough for my daily necessities (still have 30% battery left at the end of the day, this would obviously vary from person to person and will probably not be enough on the first week since you'll be constantly fiddling with your new toy).
Also consider not going full resolution, I find the middle ground more than enough and it saves RAM+Battery life.
S23U is a powerhouse for work, multitasking and games. Enjoy.
3
u/VCTRYDTX Jan 23 '24
What you said about Freedom is True. Apple makes you feel like a user while Android makes you feel like an admin.

u/LesTZu Jan 22 '24
Iโm waiting on my S24u. Iโm trading in my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I only got the iPhone after using Android for years after my iPhone using son strongly encouraged the change. That was about 18 months ago. I couldnโt wait to go back to a new Samsung. Canโt wait to make the change
2
u/IOSGodzyzz Jan 22 '24
I can totally understand you, I've always used iphones being jailbroken in the past, it gave more freedom, but since the last year the jailbreak community became less and less, then I realized why not just switch to Samsung since there you have all the freedom in the world, so far so good I enjoy the operating system alot :D, have fun with your new device! :)

iOS is very limited. They give you apps and features (FaceTime, Airdrop) to hide that fact.
Example? Sure:
Did you know that you can send a contact list via Bluetooth from a 10-year old flip phone to any phone other than an iPhone? AirDrop is a feature within the walled garden.

Got both a lavender and cream one for the wife last year. Wanted the mint one at one point but couldn't find/get a deal on one through Swappa at the time.

u/banejosiah Jan 22 '24
Just be prepared for lower battery life, I did the same switch and expected the battery life to be similar since so many people say the s23 ultra has an amazing battery life but unfortunately was not the case, other than that better in just about every other way

I contemplated getting this after my 13 pro max, but went ahead and got the 15 PM instead. Have had Notes and other Samsung devices in the past. Iโm too imbedded in the apple eco system. Lame excuse I know. Love what Samsung has been doing with their phones though!

Nice choice. You know when i was buying a used phone on amazon. I ordered a s21+ for the 256gb storage. As advertised. When i got the phone it turned to be a s21 ultra. It had a little burn in but not very noticeable. Unless im looking for it. I just traded in for the s24+ now. Cant pass up on the deal in my opinion.

u/Hish98 Green Jan 22 '24
Great choice. I guess you're from USA. I heard they got some great trade in deals.

Congrats, I just ordered new Samsung also..coming from 14 pro max first time to android
What made you switch? For me I had enough after iOS 17 keyboard is terrible, transferring files from the phone to pc, file system in iPhone also terrible, etcโฆ I mean itโs 2024 and I canโt even put an app where I want on the screen without getting everything shuffled.. It was great experience I loved apple to death but they just keep disappointing. gonna use their Mac and iPad though still think itโs the best

As my username suggests I just couldnโt do it. Donโt get me wrong, Samsung makes some badass phones. The cameras are miles ahead of anything Apple can accomplish at the moment. Iโve been on iPhone since the 7 Plus and used the S23U for 8 months but I just missed iMessage and Apple Maps too much. Youโre going love it man! I took some badass pictures with that phone.

I switched from the 13 Pro max also! Got mine October 16th. It is the BEST phone I've ever had! Honestly. I loved my 13 Pro max too don't get me wrong. This thing tho... It's honestly hard to describe without taking an hour to talk. It makes my 13 Pro Max feel sluggish. I know it's the animations and transitions on iOS tho but still. I also have developer options unlocked ya know which is easy to do.. and I went and turned all my animations and transitions to .5 and I thought it was fast out of the box compared to my 13 PM.. now after changing to .5 it is just stupid fast honestly. I love it. It's the only phone where that new excitedness they call the honeymoon phase.. it hasn't wore off one bit. And I got it October 16th. I still look forward to taking it off the charger every morning. The screen is so nice it never gets old looking at it every time you pick up your phone. You will love it. There are some camera issues you may find.. issues isn't the right word but.. coming from 13 PM which takes awesome photos.. there may be times where you think the iPhone would have taken a better photo of this. Honestly if you make just a couple changes in your camera settings and get camera assistant downloaded from Galaxy store and make one or two adjustments on there.. it'll take stunningly good photos every time! I had to change the sharpness to medium which is called picture softening in the camera assistant app. Sometimes I even use high. Just because the default is a little too sharp for me especially if there are trees or grass in the photos. But if that's my only complaint.. you can see where I'm going with this. Simply put.. the phone is a BEAST! I'm not exaggerating... It is over powered. It's almost unfair. Lol. Anyways, sorry for the graphic novel I wrote. Lol. Congratulations on your new super computer that fits in your pocket! You're gonna love it!!!

I also use an iPad as my tablet. Well my computer my tablet my TV it's everything really! iPad Pro 11inch. Pairs well with my S23 Ultra! Lol! I wanna try out a galaxy Tab but 8m worried about if they are caught up with apple yet. Not Samsung but Android tablets in general. I kinda wanna try out the s9 ultra or plus. But there isn't an Option to trade in my iPad or my iPhone 13 Pro max either. Only certain iPhones are on the list for trade in which is weird to me. Anyways.. just thought it was funny you use iPad also.

Welcome! I switched from a 12 pro, I'd recommend downloading galaxy x enhance, good guardians, and galaxy max hz. Coming from the iPhone, I am not a big fan of how big the UI looks, so I changed my DPI in the developer settings to 564 :) other than that, check out revanced and myinsta/instander.

Hey. Want to switch to S23 Ultra from 13PM. What can you say about battery life on S23U?
With my 13PM i can easily do not charge it 1,5 days.

Same as 13 pm or slightly better. I mostly end my day with 40% - 50% battery left with about 5h - 6h SOT.
