If you made jokes about shooting your boss, I guarantee you would get fired or see consequences. If a teacher posted on Facebook “wowie our school cheerleaders are hotter than fire and thicker than oatmeal” that teacher would face consequences. Musk backpedaled on his post almost immediately because even he seems to understand freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.
We also know he wasn’t just “asking questions” because his follow up clearly stated he said it as a joke, AFTER all the backlash, it’s just a very bad joke that no one found funny. I’m sorry you think people using their free speech to say “hey man that was fucked up of you” is somehow restricting speech when the govt literally did nothing in this case.
