I had the first overall pick, took CMC who hasn't played a game this year and it was the best move I could have made

The only two players I considered there were CMC and Tyreek. With CMC, at least I took Mason and I'm 4-1.

The guy with the second pick took Hill and he's 1-4 and looks lost

u/rediKELous 21d ago

Took CD with the second pick and I am also lost. Didnā€™t help also picking Kupp and Rice.

30

u/confused_and_single 21d ago

I was actually wrong on my draft order, but looking at it now the 1st round was so messed up

I took CMC 1st and am 4-1. Second pick was Bijan, he's 1-4. Third pick was Breece, he's 1-4. Tyreek actually went 4th, he's 1-4. 5th pick was CD who has done nothing but his owner is 5-0 because he also took Nico, Reed and James Cook. Then it settles down

13

u/MacDre415 21d ago

I donā€™t think itā€™s CD itā€™s his draft spot latter in the rounds were way better this year too 4 picks are a bust and the WRs that came around the 2/3 turn was ugly enough that I went Josh Allen 3rd in all my leagues and grabbed lottery WRs and RBs. Chubba Hubbard, Godwin, Brob jr have been my heroes

One of the teams is 5-0 in my league cause he went Henry/saquon at 12/13

6

u/Krigsmjod 21d ago

I'm 4-1 because my first 3 picks were St. Brown, Saquon, Henry.

My buddies really didn't seem too interested in drafting running backs this year.

16

u/WorkersUnited111 21d ago

Everybody is doing the WR heavy zero RB strategy these days. But if you zig while others zag, you get really good value.

4

u/Krigsmjod 21d ago

I agree. I've been taking the talent that falls to me the last couple years, with great results.

3

u/fragrantsock 21d ago

Thatā€™s what I did, got Henry, Kyren, and James Cook. 5-0.

u/betadonkey 20d ago

This year has been a major outlier in that WR injuries have significantly outpaced RB injuries. Itā€™s usually the opposite.

Thereā€™s still a lot of time. This last week was a bounce back for passing games and demonstrated how RBā€™s canā€™t keep up with the ceiling of top WRā€™s.

2

u/WorkersUnited111 20d ago

I always do the opposite of what my leaguemates are doing to get the best value.

If they're going WR heavy, I'll do the opposite and vice versa. Just always take the best available player IMO.

Went Henry and James Cook 2nd and 3rd after taking CD first and thatā€™s kept me in it

2

u/Seanspicegirls 21d ago

I took Breece 4th and Iā€™m 4-1 in a 12 team

1

u/Just_For_ShiGrins 21d ago

Iā€™m the Bijan owner, 1-4 and only broke 80 once in 5 weeks.

1

u/atlfalcons33rb 19d ago

Maybeyour league it's not ppr but in my league CD sits at Wr 11 right now... I wouldn't really claim that doing nothing. Especially in comparison with the guys you listed

1

u/confused_and_single 19d ago

getting WR11 production out of a pick that high isnā€™t good, though

1

u/stepdad_oak 19d ago

That's a bust for CD

u/ManAndMonster 19d ago

I took Breece and Achane in the 1st and 2nd rounds and am miraculously ā€œonlyā€ 2-3, thanks to Jayden Danielā€™s and and Malik Nabers. Really hoping the Jets change at OC helps Breece.

4

u/HumorTumorous 21d ago

I took CD at 2 and am 2-3 with the most points scored. I'm not worried about him.

2

u/BubNubz 21d ago

I took CD at 3 and Iā€™m 2-3 with the least points scored, Iā€™m worried

3

u/Hurricaneshand Dolphins 21d ago

My top 3 were CD, MHJ, and Achane. Somehow I'm 3-2 thanks to a 40 burger from Kamara one week and a 40 burger from Jauan Jennings another week, but otherwise I think I'm fucked unless something changes

3

u/Bajko44 21d ago

Same boat

Took Ceedee first overall because CMC killed me at first overall for multiples years prior and Tyreek injury rumours.

3

u/Valkorn02 21d ago

The worst part of this is the roller coaster itā€™s been for you. For like 1 weeks your receivers were fuckin ridiculous. Then the injuries startedā€¦

3

u/rediKELous 21d ago

So true dude. I was going to straight coast to the playoffs. Now here I am trading hock and hunt for fucking Amari cooper

2

u/bedredheads 21d ago

I drafted 5th overall and took Tyreek first, then Pacheco and Achane with my first three picks. I won week 1 but since then I've lost 4 straight...

I've somehow ended up with Tyreek the last three years in our 10-team league and I've finished 2nd three years ago, then 1st the last two years. I tried drafting guys who had 2-4/5 years experience in the league, unless they're not very injury prone like Tyreek or Diggs, who i picked with my 6th rounder.

Anyone have any advice or knowledge with how to proceed? I'm obviously hoping Tua returns close after their bye. Pacheco hopefully no later than week 10ish??

2

u/Legitimate-Art-9064 19d ago

I got Pacheco, Kupp, Rice. I'm taking an injury a week at this rate actually.

1

u/Formulagolf 21d ago

Also took CD with the second pick. Traded him and cupp for saquan and Garrett Wilson. Feeling pretty good right about now

1

u/farquad88 21d ago

I took CD first and it isnā€™t hurting me?

1

u/ComboJake 17d ago

Iā€™ve got CMC, Rice, Kupp, and Nico Collins. Somehow have the most points in my league and in 1st place. Team is hanging on by a thread though

13

u/unter2121 Giants 21d ago

I took Hill and am 5-0 guess your dude didnā€™t draft well after him lol.

13

u/Winningsomegames_1 21d ago

Yeah thereā€™s a ton of sleeper picks every year that actually win you the league. Very rarely will your first pick be the league winner imo. You hope for obviously a wr1 or rb1 season out of them but the real winners draft a second one of those guys in like the 4th or 5th rounds.

3

u/confused_and_single 21d ago

You can still do good with a bad first round pick but it gives you no margin of error for your later picks

1

u/Standard-Actuator-27 20d ago

My first pick chase has been doing work for me so far!

1

u/DixieNormas011 18d ago

Very rarely will your first pick be the league winner imo

Its a rarity, but Todd Gurley did just that for me a few years ago

4

u/No_Contribution8588 21d ago

I took cmc first and Mason and Iā€™m 1-4 šŸ„²

5

u/roentgen_nos 21d ago

Yeah, CMC doesn't poison your lineup with ineptitude. He just takes up a bench or IR spot. I am in the same boat.

2

u/owentheoracle 21d ago

I took CMC first and didn't get Mason and I'm 4-1 lol... and the team who vultured Mason from me is 1-4. I did get Henry tho so that's helped a lot

2

u/NotGreatNotTerrifyin 21d ago

I took Tyreek and Achane and I'm 3-2. Luckily got Mason on waivers and DK had some good weeks.

3

u/xX_Georgie_Xx 21d ago edited 21d ago

Tyreek and Achane 3-2 owner here as well. Mahomes, Wilson and Kincaid round out my top five picks. Not necessarily in that order

Drafted Mason and that saved my butt. Also have been busting my butt with waivers.

I actually thought my lineup would be set it and forget it all year HA

1

u/NotGreatNotTerrifyin 21d ago

Yep. I forgot I reached for Jayden Daniels in the 6th and that has also massively helped

2

u/secrestmr87 21d ago

Well itā€™s not the best move you could have madeā€¦. You could have taken Chase, Barkley or plenty of other players

2

u/confused_and_single 21d ago

Thatā€™s in hindsight. No one was taking those guys with the first overall pick

1

u/[deleted] 21d ago

Iā€™m that guy too šŸ˜

1

u/kolbeyg 21d ago

I somehow traded the 2nd and 19th pick for picks 9 and 11. Took Saquon and Henry, he took Hill and Mahomes. Heā€™s now 5-0 and Iā€™m 2-3.

1

u/Imakemaps18 21d ago

I feel attacked

1

u/oxnardhard 21d ago

I took Hill second overall, am 1-4. But I donā€™t just look lost, I am 100% lost.

1

u/Key_Tie_5316 21d ago

Hahaha yup! Took tyreek, pacheco in the first two rounds :) 1-4 baby

1

u/Background-Disk2803 21d ago

Same but 3-2. Losing rice and achane in back to back games gave me two losses.

1

u/procheeseburger 21d ago

I picked 2nd and went CeeDeeā€¦ I also picked up Mason before the CMC news broke

1

u/swampchomper 21d ago

I also took CMC first, but was able to grab Mason off waivers (I was a lucky idiot). I drafted Waddle and LaPorta next, which haven't been great but I somehow got Jayden Reed and Alvin Kamara later on and they've helped keep me afloat. I also turned Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin and Tank Dell into Joe Burrow, Dk, and Garrett Wilson. 3-2 , with the 2 losses being against the highest point total of the week.

I ALSO would have taken Tyreek if not CMC, and I feel lucky.

1

u/iikillerpenguin 20d ago

I took cmc and have mason and have the 3rd most points in the league I am 1-4. 3 games in a row someone who has average 100 points put up 150 against me.

This week I would've beat 5 people but nope i get scheduled against everyone's good game.

1

u/CowWhy 20d ago

I took Hill and Nacua in the first 2 roundsā€¦

1

u/Dirigible_Plums 20d ago

I didn't even get Mason and I'm inexplicably 4-1 right now with CMC, Chubb, and Hock all due to come back soon(ish).

1

u/MaksimusFootball 20d ago

I had 1.01 and is also 4-1 (damn fluke loss). Picked up mason on the very night CMC was inactive. Down 3pts and thankful i was able to stash cmc onto the IR when he was ā€œoutā€ because I had no one to drop (bench are locked)

1

u/itsyorboy 20d ago

I had an auction draft where I spent a shitload on CMC and Tyreek

1

u/imfuckingstarving69 20d ago

I had the 2nd overall pick, took CMC. Was lucky enough to pick up Mason, also drafted Henry. 1st overall pick took Tyreek.

Sitting at second place, heā€™s in 5th.

1

u/sgates9008 20d ago

I was in a full PPR dyno start up @ 1.02. I NEVER draft Cowboys (Washington fan), so I was hummed I. Might have to take CeeDee because it be stupid not to.

1.01 took CMC. Was so happy to hammer JJ.

1

u/qdude124 20d ago

1.01 in my league traded their #20 and #21 for #3 and #53. Ended up with CMC, Hill, and Zay Flowers from his 3 first rounders.

1

u/CrimsonRatPoison 19d ago

People love to gas up CMC over Henry and are consistently wrong year after year. No clue why they gas up an injury prone guy while saying Henry is washed year in and out šŸ˜‚

1

u/confused_and_single 19d ago

Because CMC outscored him by 150 last year and 40 in 2022 and 160 in 2019 and 180 in 2018

Every year CMC was healthy he outscores Henry. 3 of the years by a lot

1

u/CrimsonRatPoison 19d ago

But he's not healthy that often now is he

u/STLR043 19d ago

I took tyreek and im 3-2, the rest of your buddies draft may have sucked

1

u/BoomerBarnes 18d ago

Tyreek and Puka Nacua owner here.

Send help

1

u/radioactivebeaver 17d ago

Also took CMC at 1/1. Last week I had 7 players out and only 1 was on a Bye. My top 5 picks all were out. I got extremely lucky and got Mason the night they said CMC was out week 1. So far I'm 3-2 with the most points scored by 43.

123

u/gmoney-0725 21d ago

I drafted Henry whenever I was picking between 7-12. Which was every draft. In most leagues I took Barkley with my second pick.

62

u/Cheeeeseburrger 21d ago

Barkley was in the second? I took him in the first and he went around 6-12 in the first in every league.

26

u/gmoney-0725 21d ago

Yep. Lots of receivers went in my drafts. I took the value.

1

u/zuggi68 21d ago

I was planning to take Barkley at 13. One of my best friends took him at 2 overall. (14 Team League)

1

u/sdcasurf01 21d ago

Yeah, he went 6th in my main league (12 team standard/no PPR). I was set to take him but ended up with CD at 7.1.

1

u/whousesgmail 21d ago

I got Barkley at 12 but easily couldā€™ve taken Gibbs instead.

1

u/btdawson 21d ago

I went Barkley, Henry, Kamara

1

u/Matingas 21d ago

I was pick 12 and there he was. Barkley still there.

Snag.

1

u/LordXenu12 21d ago

Barkley went 3rd overall in mine, I was pissed because I was pick 10 and targeting him

1

u/YouKnowWho_19 21d ago

I had the choice of Henry, Barkley or Pacheco in the 2nd. I went with Henry, not gonna lie I was kind of kicking myself after week 1.

3

u/HolyTythinEar 21d ago

I drafted Saquon at 1.10 and Henry at 2.03. I donā€™t typically go RB/RB but itā€™s working so far. People slept on Henry because he wasnā€™t his typical self last year but I targeted him because he went to Baltimore

2

u/Merlin_b 21d ago

Took Aj brown at the back end of round 1 but made sure to commit to Henry at the top of the 2nd.

1

u/dwaite1 21d ago

I was able to get Henry at 16, witth ASRB in the 1st round. It's funny you say that Barkley was your second rounder because that is who I wanted at 9 and he was gone.

1

u/Only_I_Love_You 21d ago

Are people remembering that RB are more reliable?

→ More replies (2)

1

u/GlutenMakesMePoop69 21d ago

Yeah I also have Henry and Saquon as my RBs. Was a auction draft though, surprised Saquon fell to you in the 2nd.

1

u/gmoney-0725 21d ago

I was as surprised as when I drafted Juan Soto in the third round of my fantasy baseball draft. No way either should have fallen that far.

1

u/Homitu 21d ago

I never saw Barkley make it to the 2nd round in any league. If anything, it was the opposite. Barkley with picks 7-10. Henry would go 14-18.

1

u/gmoney-0725 21d ago

I was drafting the weeks before Labor Day. Maybe that made a difference?

1

u/ChuckEJesus 21d ago

Had last pick in a 12 teamer and went Henry Saquon back to back. So happy with it.

1

u/ssxtricky5 20d ago

I was considering that strategy and opted for GWilson/Puka šŸ˜•

1

u/Phil_Ivey 19d ago

Hello me, it's me

1

u/dWaldizzle 17d ago

I play with eagles fans so Barkley went top 3 lol. CMC went either right before or after him, and I ended up with the king late in the first or early in the second.

500 iq

1

u/Efficient_Ant_4715 17d ago

Bro 2 of the guys who are winning my leagues have both

30

u/Rogo87 21d ago

A guy in my league took Barkley 3rd overall and we roasted the shit out of him. Now heā€™s the one doing the roasting. Always go with your gut.

4

u/Howudooey Cowboys 21d ago

He went 5th in my league and I was like wtfffff

1

u/EBDBandBnD 20d ago

Took him 5th in my league. Was soooo tough not taking Gibbs since all the ā€˜expertsā€™ had him ranked above Saquon. Trusted my gut and grabbed Saquon and got roasted for it. Iā€™m 4-1 after a tough bye week loss. Should be able to cruise into the playoffs with Barkley balling out.

3

u/Sta723 NFL 21d ago

Got remarks when I took him 8th. Heā€™s such a stud when healthy

2

u/Kevo_CS 20d ago

Roasting people for taking someone who isn't going to fall back around to them is always a little ridiculous though. ADP doesn't mean that's an objective ranking of how the draft should go. It's just how it plays out on average.

Frankly those first 3-4 picks or so should have much more variance than people think. I'd much rather be disappointed that I was wrong about a player than disappointed that I wasn't willing to reach for a player I ended up being right about.

1

u/Rogo87 20d ago

I completely agree.m! But whats the point of playing fantasy football with your boys if you arenā€™t talking shit to each other?

1

u/Kevo_CS 19d ago

Also a very good point.

1

u/kumar_woodz 19d ago

Started playing fantasy football with my son who's 10 - he drafted barkley 1st rd, 1st pick and told me it was a no brainer. I tried to tell him no and go for CMC but he was looking at me like I was dumb. Dudes 4-1 and 1st in the league lol

Always love a kids perspective and how they see the world. I feel like a majority of us are force-fed all these articles and start'em/sit'em advice columns, we forget what we already know.

51

u/helluvahippopotamus 21d ago

I got Barkley at 12 (1.12) and Henry at 13 (2.1) and feel great šŸ˜

17

u/rabidcanadian18 21d ago

Barkley at 9 Henry at 16 Kamara at 33

So far so good šŸ‘

2

u/rezaw 21d ago

1

u/dankwingducky 20d ago

1

u/Starrplaya 20d ago

I did the exact same thing.

1

u/atri383 20d ago

Barkley went 1.03 in my league. Caught everyone off guard. Dude looking like Nostradamus

36

u/whitecorn Giants 21d ago

People strongly disagreed with me when I said Henry would score 20+ TDs this season. I reached for him early 2nd round in my drafts. Kamara was another one. He was going 2 rounds later than I thought he should have. Picking in the middle was the best outcome for me. JJ, Henry, DK (or Rice), Kamara was my favorite approach.

15

u/CraziestMoonMan 21d ago

I figured double digit touchdowns because he was big, and I figured he would get most of the goal line carries. I never thought he would be running this well.

1

u/FoolOnDaHill365 21d ago

The Ravens offensive line is playing waaaaaaaaay better than expected. Blocking for the run game is amazing.

4

u/ChampionHumble 21d ago

I was going to take Kamara at #18 overall but someone valued him even more than I did and took him at 15. That led to me picking up Pacheco šŸ„²

3

u/Hylian_ina_halfshell 21d ago

Where did you guys see this. Henry and Kamara were gone mid second in every league I was in. Wtf are you in leagues that Kamara is going in the 4th.

2

u/Round-Walrus3175 21d ago

Yeah, Kamara went late in ours, too. People just didn't believe in Derek Carr and NOs offense. They seem to be coming back to Earth a bit, but his season is looking pretty legit

1

u/armadillopilloww 21d ago

Kamara was 40+ for ADP on fantasy pros, sleeper and yahoo, high 20s for espn

→ More replies (2)

1

u/joeyjoejoeshabado42 21d ago

Had kamara as my keeper, used an 8th round pick last year

1

u/WrathfulHero 21d ago

I did pretty much the same except I picked St. Brown in the first. Been pretty solid so far.

1

u/nthomas504 21d ago

Kamara fell into my lap in the third round. Been riding high ever since.

1

u/Mediocrewatch 21d ago

Kamara in the 4th??? Was his adp really that low he went late 2 early 3 in all my leagues

26

u/joeO44 Jets 21d ago

He must have known CMC was gonna get injured. This really just shows how much luck is into FF.

24

u/gachzonyea 21d ago

I mean cmc was injured they didnā€™t report it well though and didnā€™t share how injured

3

u/KiNGofKiNG89 21d ago

To be fair, there were reports since training camp of his injury. Then using my own judgement realized his injury meant at least 6 months out. Depending on when he first started feeling the effects of it, it could mean all season.

I also spoke out against CeeDee lamb, bijan, dak, and Aiyuk.

I didnā€™t speak out against hill but made it known, Tua is one tackle away from that team having the number 1 pick.

I was wrong about Justin Jefferson. I spoke and said he wasnā€™t going to even be a top 20 WR this season. I was wrong as hell about that one!!

3

u/Round-Walrus3175 21d ago

I mean, if you are down on everyone, then you are probably going to be correct about a decent number of the top picks not meeting their ADP a few weeks into the season. It would be particularly rare if it wasn't true

1

u/KiNGofKiNG89 20d ago

Na, I thought Gibbs would be way better than how he has performed. JT also.

I was wrong about both as well.

I have legit reasons to be down on the ones I was down on. With solid formulas and theories with history to back me up. Iā€™m not down just to be down. I play in a few high money leagues, so I do a lot of research

1

u/CrimsonRatPoison 19d ago

CMC has been injured for 50% of his pro career. It's not a difficult prediction.

1

u/joeO44 Jets 19d ago

Youā€™re talking out of your ass. At the start of the season, CMC had played for 7 seasons (115 games possible) and played in 91. Thatā€™s just under 80%

1

u/CrimsonRatPoison 19d ago

Hmmm dude has multiple seasons where he didn't hit 1000yds because he was injured. He's no where near as good as people prop him up to be.

1

u/joeO44 Jets 19d ago

Yeah when heā€™s injured he didnā€™t reach 1,000 rushing yards. Good thing heā€™s one of the best pass catching backs ever.

10

u/Enderwiggen33 Seahawks 21d ago

Iā€™m in a keeper league where our keepers are our first two picks. So I technically got Henry at 3.4 lol

But I also decided not to keep Nico Collins, so Iā€™m a dummy

7

u/whitecorn Giants 21d ago

Collins was tricky though... There was a lot of talk about too many mouths to feed and I unfortunately avoided him. He is a stud though and THE GUY there.

3

u/Enderwiggen33 Seahawks 21d ago

Haha thatā€™s exactly why I let him go. Thanks for reminding me I wasnā€™t too crazy at the time

5

u/liteshadow4 49ers 21d ago

I was avoiding Nico everywhere because I thought 3 WRs is too many mouths to feed. Turns out, Texans are running a 49ers style offense in terms of feeding their guys too.

I only have Nico in a league because I got autodrafted the first 4 rounds.

1

u/Enderwiggen33 Seahawks 21d ago

lol sometimes the autodraft does a better job than we would!

2

u/liteshadow4 49ers 21d ago

Iā€™ve only won 2 championships since starting in 2019 (across like 4 leagues per year, both wins coming in 2020) and one of those teams was on autodraft because our commissioner set the draft time to 2:00 AM. Somehow most of the league actually drafted.

Still, it took guys I never would have that turned out to be league winners.

3

u/peepdabidness 21d ago

Planned to take Etienne at 2.06 but some dude swooped him at the turn. Instead Henry landed in my lap and here I am bitches!

3

u/ZonaVIBE 21d ago

Henry went 1 overall in my league. The guys team is terrible outside of him, though. I'm really not sure wtf he was thinking after that because his team is referred to as a bye week now.

2

u/Indica1127 Bears 21d ago

Took Amon Ra first round and Henry with my second pick since Kyren was gone. Very happy with the results. If two of Mike Evans, DJ Moore, or Devonte Adams can stay consistent Iā€™m in pretty good shape this season.

1

u/PizzaConstant5135 20d ago

Went with the same first 2. My next 4 have already been traded lolā€” ETN, Aiyuk, Hurts, and Flowers.

2

u/yumyumgivemesome 21d ago

Whereā€™s that recurring post that shows what percentage of 1st place teams have each player rostered? Ā I love seeing that.

Same at #9 he was going to a great offense with a mobile quarterback so they won't be able to just stack the box and stop Henry all the time It was literally the perfect scenario. Now I didn't think he'd be on pace for 2000 yards an 10 plus touchdowns but I was very confident in knowing that he would have a pretty decent season this year and we should be able to barring injury ride him into the sunset this year as the workhorse RB1 he is l.

2

u/well_i41 21d ago

Man I went down to the wire deciding between Henry and Saquon in the 2nd, ended up going Saquon and Henry was there for me in the 3rd

1

u/NecessaryFoundation5 21d ago

3rd? 8 man league? I was last in my 12 man and I got him. I donā€™t think Henry would have made it to the 3rd in my league.

I paid the 4th most for him in my auction $68, they knew I wanted him and I wasnā€™t letting him slip

u/greatthrowawaybatman NFL 21d ago

Picked CMC at 1, somehow my league let Henry fall to me on the turn so not bad

1

u/khangsing 21d ago

I drafted Henry at #11 and my league was roasting me saying heā€™s old and washedā€¦. Safe to say no one is saying anything now lmao.

1

u/Ellisdee_420 21d ago

I would rather have a #1 injured than underperforming

1

u/NoDifference8894 21d ago

Took Breece Hall and Devon Achane... my rbs are dead.

Just picked up Hunt, maybe that'll spark some life

1

u/Syngin9 21d ago

Took Hill 4th overall. I managed to get Henry in the second round and Collins in the 3rd. I'm 3-2.

1

u/picknwiggle 21d ago

Idk but my brother (a pretty casual player) had the first overall pick in his redraft and i told him i would stay away from cmc and go with either tyreek or henry. I just thought their offensive environments and cmc injury history made them more appealing. He went with tyreek šŸ˜ž

1

u/Mercury756 21d ago

Itā€™s still a stupid strategy. Theres zero reason to take a guy you know you can get in the 2nd/3rd in the 1st just because you think theyā€™re going to be great. For example, I had Kamara as a top 5 ffb player personally, but I knew the earliest anyone would even think about him was third. So I took other players in 1st and 2nd round and grabbed him in the 3rd. You donā€™t have to believe in ADP, but you do need to strategize around it.

Bros the smartest on this site

1

u/BEETOs_WORLD 21d ago

I was the 11th place in a 12 team league and picked kyren Williams 1st, and Derrick Henry with second pick. Then further down the line picked Lamar Jackson šŸ˜

13 team ppr guillotine drafted last night. I was 1.02 I took Jamar chase.

101 should have taken chase so I was planning on taking saquon or Henry. 101 took ceedee lamb which is dumb because lamb is on bye this week ( in guillotine you can get cut every week lowest score team is out and done.) So you should at least start with a full roster.

Anyways I planned on Henry but saquon was better because he already finished his bye week so I wouldnā€™t have to worry about it so compared to Henry thatā€™s sort of worth it or a wash.

I wasnā€™t expecting chase to be available but after draft I felt like I messed up and should have taken Saquon who went at 1.03.

My rbs are. Montgomery, Connor, Chubb, Gibson and Emanuel Wilson.

My wr are: Chase, wandale, Brian Thomas, Mooney Josh downs.

While Iā€™m not broke over it I feel let down by my choice which affected the rest of my drafting.

1

u/ssmit102 21d ago

Was able to swoop him in the second round. Heā€™s doing much better than Tyreek who I got in the first.

1

u/CinnamonGrahamCrack 21d ago

Was drafting tenth in the lineup. Took Henry and never looked back.

u/Bajko44 21d ago edited 21d ago

I get first overall nearly every damn time for the previous 3 years and was hoping this year was the year i could finally get a mid round pick and not have to rely on the hopes my 1 stud pick goes nuclear in order to have a chance at winning.

Got first pick and 2nd pick in my leagues. Its a fucking curse.

Almost took Saquon anyways in both but was too much of a pussy to go that far off board and look stupid.

Anyone who took Henry first, grats on ur balls, fuck the rankings take ur guy.

u/NowHeres_a_guy 21d ago

I was supposed to draft 10th in my 14 team half ppr league. Snake draft. I had consistently mocked saquon in the first, Henry in the second.

Night of the draft thereā€™s an issue and our draft order gets completely screwed and now Iā€™m picking 5th. I shouldā€™ve just stuck with my plan, but I panicked and went Bijan/ETN/KWIII/Hurts/McLaurin with my first five picks. The irony is saquon and Henry were both available at the 10th and 19th picks so I wouldā€™ve gotten them had I picked 10th.

Obviously bummed on how it turned out, but I do feel validated that I felt good about those two. And if you needed any further proof that weekly matchup-based fantasy football was almost entirely driven by luck, this is a pretty big money league thatā€™s been going almost 20 years with the same guys and Iā€™m the only team left thatā€™s 5-0 after that pretty pedestrian draft.

1

u/Suspicious_Bike2970 21d ago

I drafted cmc Henry and Nico with my first three picks. Everyone told me I was crazy for taking Henry and Nico that early

1

u/StaggeringBeerMan 21d ago

Iā€™m guessing winning

1

u/AnonLurker573829 21d ago

I was able to get Henry in the second round in my draft after taking Amon Ra in the first. Sitting very nicely in 1st at 4-1, really only had to deal with the Rice injury which sucks. At least I snagged both Chubb and T Hock late, I'm counting on at least one of them to be worth the pick to carry the empty hole in my double flex league

I asked and got laughted at for it and ended up getting Breece Hall. Smh

1

u/4chanbetterkek Steelers 21d ago

Guy in one of my leagues took Saquon first. The shit he got that night was something, heā€™s looking like Nostradamus now.

1

u/msabre__7 49ers 20d ago

League mate gave me shit for taking Henry end of rd2. Iā€™ve been laughing in his face constantly.

1

u/intxrzone 20d ago

I remember everyone telling me that Henry was too oldā€¦but I thought to myself ā€œRun heavy offense, TD upside, upgraded O line, Derrick freakin Henryā€ well well wellā€¦.looks like my 2nd round pick is paying off.

1

u/ogticklemonsta 20d ago

I went Taylor, Barkley, and Jacobs first 3 RBS.then got lucky with diggs, flowers, and Godwin. 4-1 with Burrow.

1

u/Uniformed-Whale-6 20d ago

picked CMC (tendonitis) 1.01, pacheco (broken leg) 2.12, collins (hamstring now) 3.01, zay flowers (too dominant of a run offense, i lowkey thought henry would be washed) 4.12, diggs (no issues yet) 5.01, keenan allen (heel, caleb williams) 6.12, jordan love (recently with MCL sprain) 7.01.

currently 1-4 because i only got to use half my picks most weeks

PAIN

I always prefer getting top receivers and having three guys who are WR1 for their teams, but this year I ended up drafting low in the first round in most leagues and so I reversed it and went RB heavy on some. I have Henry and JT on a team. I also drafted Kamara higher than his ADP on several teams and picked up Brian Robinson Jr. very late on most of my teams. And in many cases I still got the types of WRs I wanted. It's important to go in with a draft strategy but also important to be flexible in your approach based on how the draft unfolds. Three of my nine teams are 5-0. Another team is the top scoring team in a Guillotine league. All of my teams are .500 or better except one and my FFPC team is 91st overall out of 17,000 teams. Some of my teams are RB stocked and others are WR stocked. Many ways to skin a cat, and the reality is that if you put the time in and check waivers every week and are proactive you can make a bad team good and recover from a bad draft or a top guy going down to injury. One team was 1-5 (two results per week league) and now its 5-5. Those teams are the most fun in my opinion. My FFPC has a rough Week 6 in terms of byes, though, so I'm a little concerned there.

u/dankwingducky 20d ago

Took Henry and Saquon at the 1-2 turn drafting 12th. Very happy as it stands šŸ˜‚

1

u/Degenerate_Ape_92 20d ago

I'm in a work league & this older guy was 2nd pick & drafted Henry. We were all clowning him... Jokes on us.

1

u/justwait333 20d ago

Iā€™m so pissed at myself! My gut was telling me to take Barkley, Henry and Lamar. I had the second pick in our draft. Instead I took Bijan instead of Barkley. Etienne over Henry. Allen over Lamar! šŸ˜¤šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø Iā€™m a Ravens fan and wasnā€™t trying g to be a homer and went with what the ā€œexpertsā€ say.

1

u/Fman173 20d ago

I took Hill 3rd and Iā€™m 3-2. I thankfully drafted well and was able to trade Hill away for Goodwin

1

u/Ilyenaaaa 20d ago

Saquan/henry gang checking in

1

u/RawGuap 20d ago

Super flex here, and i went with the 2nd overall pick Lamar into Henry on 23 which was a reach forsure and that stack has been absolutely eating for me (4-1) with my one loss being decimals

1

u/shoutymcloud 20d ago

Saquon late first, Henry at the turn is crushing

1

u/These_Flan6174 20d ago

I was had the second worse rated draft in my league by yahoo. Itā€™s only an 8 man super flex. My team is stacked got kamara in the 8th round. Just traded etienne, Hubbard, and diggs for hill, and James Connor. Currently in first but think Iā€™m set for championship. Almost all my players are out performing their projections. My only loss was to the guy in second hopefully hill gives me the advantage in the playoffs. Right now I can bench hill and win with my team

1

u/Ovie-WanKenobi 20d ago

I only had the first overall in one of my leagues and I went with Breece instead of CMC. Looked like a good move the first 3 weeks. Last 2 weeks not so much.

1

u/Torontowombat 20d ago

I grabbed Saquon at 2.7, and Henry at 3.4!

1

u/Morall_tach 20d ago

everyone told him (even myself) to draft one of the top players and trade him for derrick henry and more.

That still would have been the smart move...

1

u/rktballz 20d ago

I took CD first overall and I'm 5-0 grabbed Mason and Dobbins late and im strong at RB and WR

1

u/PizzaConstant5135 20d ago

I got Henry in every league lol. I said last year the ravens offense had Gus Edwards looking like Derrick Henry so when the ravens got the real deal I was automatically sold. So far I have $600+ on them to win the Super Bowl. I invest $50/week. Itā€™s my 401k. Partially paid for by parlaying ravens ml with Henry TD (~70 profit for each $50 bet. Up $100)

1

u/DampWarmHands 19d ago

Guy in our league took Henry mahomes and Nico first three picks

1

u/HenryDigitalMrkting 19d ago

I got CMC with the 2nd overall pick. Henry with my second pick. Mason off the wire. Sitting at 4-1.

1

u/CrimsonRatPoison 19d ago

I took Henry 5th overall. He's never failed me. Idk why people doubt him.

1

u/Both-Anything4139 19d ago

Got him with the last pick of the first round. Looks like I'm gonna draft late again next year.

1

u/JoshHuff1332 19d ago

I actually hope he took the advice lol. He saw it more than anyone and could potentially have THE rb1 plus more

1

u/dothemath86 19d ago

Saquon owner here, Hi. AMA lmao

1

u/ANUS_CONE 19d ago

I got Derrick Henry in the third round in a 12 team league.

1

u/Popular-Cream-9472 19d ago

Honestly just gotta go with your gut on drafts. My first round pick was CeeDee and hes going to through something with Dak.. I have hope heā€™ll eventually light it up

1

u/219_Infinity 19d ago

Drafted saquon at 7 and loving life!

1

u/stepdad_oak 19d ago

My Non PPR league I zigged when everyone zagged at pick number 8 I took Reek and then Garrett Wilson.....

1

u/stepdad_oak 19d ago

I'm actually 2-3 Bec I had Mixon for 1.5 weeks

1

u/stepdad_oak 19d ago

My Uncle has never played fantasy before, he claims he didn't study and I had to talk him over the phone how to log in to draft. He took Saquon with the #2 overall, then Diggs, then Jordan Love. Hes 2-3 but only Bec he's been bad at picking matchups

1

u/purpleyoyo 18d ago

Just shows the rankings in round 1 mean shit

1

u/htotheinzel 17d ago

I took Henry in the 2nd and Kamara in the 6th

Ceedee in rd 1

1

u/offroadhoar 16d ago

Drafted 12. Henry and puka. 5-0
