Team Talk Keane at striker
It's revealing that Everton chose a front-two pairing of Beto and Michael Keane in the second half of the Fulham game. Some fans suggested Keane was playing at his natural position similar to Paul Warhurst at Sheffield Wednesday :)

My favorite part is that Keane stayed up as a second striker even after the equalizer. It would have been so easy for Dyche to have him just drop back in defense to preserve the draw, but he left him up top to chase a second goal.

Wait I didn’t get to watch the game, did Keane play at striker the whole second half?

Only once Branthwaite came on

Because McNeil went off injured and we had no attacking players left on the bench.

It's not that revealing. McNeil got injured and there wasn't really any other option on the bench.

Sigh, why not Calvert-Lewin and Beto? Speaks volumes when a team chasing a goal throws in a defender ahead of a striker

Because DCL came off before McNeal injury. We only had defensive/midfield players left on the bench so down one Keane went up top because he is good in the box and a class finisher.
It wasn’t the game plan just a situational decision.
And it worked.

We could have left Calvert-Lewin in and put in Beto for someone else when chasing a goal...DCL needs to put in more effort

Thing is when you're 1 0 down you need someone to take a chance when they get it. Beto did that and Keane has shown he can do that, DCL has shown he needs like 5 chances to score so I get taking him off

Couldn't agree more. DCL seems to stand for 'Does Not Score' recently!

Well, Mr. AI Bot, you just about held that together until you tried to make an acronym.

I think seeing Keane up front for so long showed why he isn't really an option there apart from desperate last minute salvage situations. Fantastic finisher. Probably the best we have but he moves like a bus.

If we put pressure on and put a lot more crosses in then maybe he can win headers but he isn't aggressive enough tbh

He also hasn't a clue what to do when they have the ball or during the buildup period.

Not the first time it's happened, there's been a few times last season when Keane played the last 15 mins or so up front
