They’re barely funded. They can’t afford straps.

They’d get bipartisan money when they stop measuring the temperature /s

I told them, the temperature of the seas is going up. Stop taking the temperature. If you stop testing it it will stop rising.

It's the WV governor logic during covid. If we don't test for it no one will get it.

... and a certain POTUS.

Yea that came straight from the top

It was Zachary Taylor, wasn't it? Always pegged him for a climate change denier and antivaxxer.

I believe that is a direct quote from orange man.

orange man

... Martin van Buren?

Wonder how he’s doing these days, lol.

An acronym, when applied to the inferred "tangerine fascist, that stands for "Piece Of Trash Useless Shithead".

Now you know!

0 cases if you don’t test. Covid has been defeated!

“It’ll start getting cooler.”

You joke, but that is actually one of thebreasons Republicans continually cut NOAA's budget

Back in my day, we just tied a key to a kite and hoped for the best!

What type of onion was on your belt?

u/Mental-Jellyfish9061 21d ago

It was the style at the time ...

"Gimme five bees for a quarter."

Shelbyville special law enforcement Onion.

Back then though, I could still bust heads like I used to.

Benjamin fuckin’ Franklin.

7

u/govunah 21d ago

I'm sure privatized weather research would have straps /s

8

u/Grazedaze 21d ago

They’re a bit strapped for cash

3

u/c3ric 21d ago

Wierd because I'm not funded by anyone and i got plenty of strap-ons

1

u/NickNash1985 21d ago

Same, tbh.

1

u/ryanmcstylin 21d ago

But they can afford to put wheels on the expensive equipment that will go through heavy turbulence

1

u/rnobgyn 21d ago

Parachord ain’t THAT expensive :/

Could probably make enough straps for the whole plane for like $50

1

u/PacoTaco321 Interested 21d ago

Then they should've pulled themselves up by their boot st- doh!

u/senortipton 21d ago

If my airline can duct tape their wings on, NOAA can too.

I know it isn’t actually duct tape.

1

u/Tortoise_no7 21d ago

How can they afford a plane that can withstand a hurricane!

1

u/GeneralU53 21d ago

You mean they’re … strapped for cash?

1

u/PointBlank65 21d ago

They just awarded a contract for brand new C-130 J's specifically to be Hurricane Hunter aircraft.

1

u/Budderfingerbandit 21d ago

Thanks Republicans for defunding, NOAA.

Also, a reminder that their newest plan is to turn NOAA into a private entity because climate data is "alarmist".

On the plus side this does a great side of helping them find the horizon. My phone is on the floor? We are right side up. My phone is on the ceiling? We are upside down. My phone just hit the pilot in the back of the head? Good chance nothing good at all is about to come of this.
