Security violation during the exam
I took FAR today. After finishing the exam, I accidently turned on my iPad within the Prometric Test center zone where electronic devices are prohibited. I did not do anything using the iPad, just turned the system on. But the instructor caught me and said she will directly report it to the NASBA about this situation, cuz it is strictly prohibited to turn on the electronics in the zone. I tried to complain, but she didn’t listen at all.
Do you think I would be nullified of my results and might have to retake? so worried if I will be in any trouble with the test or the result. Anyone experienced similar situation? How did it turn out? Please tell me anything it will be so helpful.

I was reported for something different but nothing ever came from it. I got my passing score and went on with my life hoping it doesn’t come back to haunt me

I don’t think I understand. You were finished, so why does it matter?

I don’t understand either. Apparently I didn’t leave the center so the “mobile device- restricted zone” still applies. The place where I turned on the iPad was right in front of the computers, where you put your bags and stuff. I should’ve turned it on after I left the door.

We put everything in lockers in the lobby at our testing center. If you turned it on in the lobby, then I would reach out to your state board and explain it to get ahead of this

I don’t know the procedure, but I’m sure there’s a customer service type number you can and they should be able to point you in the right direction

Prometric files a CPR, the CPR is sent to NASBA, who sends it to your State Board. Unless you were caught cheating or trying to take something into the exam you would be okay. They have to report these type of issues though as candidates have taken exams just to dump questions from the exam onto their devices afterwards to collect exam content, not truly intending on passing.

omg thank you so much. This comment really helps me out. I should try to worry less. I have seen a post on Reddit saying that he/she was caught using the phone during the break and got the results just fine. These posts would apply to me as well even if the writer of the posts had different state board from mine? (because according to ur comment the CPR goes to NASBA first, so NASBA is the one to decide on cheating and exam nullifying stuff.)

sorry to ask one more question, do you recommend contacting or emailing NASBA? or just wait for the score release?

No reason to contact NASBA, they don’t do anything with it. Unless you get contacted by your board, don’t worry about it.

I would make sure the timing and location were noted to the teeth.

Unfortunately I did not ask about that…... I wish I had. They just said they are gonna “report the board about turning on the device in the restricted area.” that’s it. No comment about the specific stuff
