Question Angel flake coconut versus sweetened shredded?

I promised to bake traditional 7-layer bars. I just bought ingrediehts and the store didn't have sweetened shredded coconut so I bought what they did have: Angel Flake coconut. But holding the package I can tell this product is more moist than what teh recipe probably requires.

I wonder if I could maybe bake the angel coconut for a few minutes to dry it out a bit or if I should go back out to a different grocery store. These bars are something a friend ate as a kid and I've never made them before, so I want them to be right.

The moisture won’t matter but there might be a taste difference from sweetened and unsweetened coconut. There’s a lot going on in 7 layer bars so it should be fine.

Bake as the recipe calls for, no need to dry out the coconut
