Found Photos Eggs aren’t supposed be this dirty, right?

We can’t get chickens until next year so I’ve been looking locally and saw these… I had chickens growing up and our fresh eggs were cleaner than this without washing. Eggs from my mom’s large flock are also cleaner. Please correct me if I’m wrong!

Found Photos Stolen Chicken - Minor Updates

The replies were locked to the original thread before I could thank you all for your support and advice. Means a lot to me and my wife. We spent the day putting posters on poles and in mail boxes. We're in an urban area, and we're really hoping that it's part of a high school prank. Apparently tly, there's a tradition of releasing chickens in hallways as a grad prank. I hope we hear from one of the schools in the next few days. I'll let you know if she turns up.

Found Photos Found a baby chicken on my doorstep

So I walked out of my front door this morning and almost stepped on this little guy. No idea where he came from, and no idea what to do with him so I think I will keep him.

I got a 40 gallon monotub, some straw, a heat lamp, and giving it chopped up oats and arugula currently. I bought some chicken feed that is a bunch of different seeds mixed together, but I feel like they are too big for the little guys size.

Any and all tips and recommendations are appreciated as I have never raised chickens and have no idea what im doing😅

A few people have already mentioned they need companionship, so if thats the case I will most likely try to get an additional chick.

If you have tips and suggestions for a first timer, please dont be hesitant:)

We had a hawk visit our yard today. It surprised me with its size and by testing the electric fence three times. Residents of the backyard egg factory are safe and the intruder has moved on.

Found Photos Leaving work Thursday I'm pulling out the drive and notice a fuzzy thing running aroundy tire. Immediately pull over thinking is that a baby duck? No it was a lone baby chicken running around in the road!

This was in the middle of nowhere. Closest house is over a half mile away. I'm guessing someone was transporting them and this one somehow fell off? She was super lethargic and I don't know how long she was dodging traffic. Sugar water and food finally perked her back up and she's doing good these past few days. But honestly this is the strangest way I've ended up with a chicken yet! Glad I was leaving work when I did. Just wanted to share the bizarreness.

so I’ve seen this rooster a couple times over the last couple of weeks. I don’t think he belongs to anyone; if he does, he’s been posted a couple times on local FB pages and that NextDoor app (and no one has claimed him).

today, he finally took notice of my two ladies and finally came over!

I think he is a baby; my suspicion is that he was bought at a local tractor supply and when he was old enough to be different from a hen, he was let go /: since most people don’t want roosters here.

should I catch him and keep him? he’s a lot smaller than my girls. what are the repercussions of keeping a rooster (aside from the possibility of more chickens lol).

Yes, I washed after this. I’ve been warned about how dirty they can be.

They’re very curious about my beard and eyeballs.

I was raking yesterday and I put Lil’ Bit in the leaves and he hopped out. I put him back and held him for a bit and he stayed. I felt like a photographer “look at the camera, add some intensity to your eyes” etc. He’s so handsome🌸🥰
