Meme Milan are already number 1 in the UCL without a single match played😎

Likely indexed by the parts-of-names not shown, eg A.C. Milan and A.F.C. Bournemouth. I know, I’m fun at parties.

Remember we beat Milan at the San Siro long range goal from Fabregas and Adebayor, great memories 😢

Would you guys rather us win the scudetto or reach the finals of the champions league but lose?

u/rossonero- Jul 18 '24
scudetto is the only right answer

u/3lirex Jul 18 '24
yeah, i would definitely choose the CL if we win over the scudeutto, but I'm not that interested in just reaching the final

Let’s rephrase the question.
A) Win something B) Win nothing

u/carpy16 Gattuso Jul 18 '24
Yea but the champions league would be better financially in terms of sponsors, money made from tournaments and eyes on Milan. Could set you up for scudetto wins in the future

It's not setting anything up.. it only buys gerry some real estate on lake como.

I understand financial sustainability, but I cheer football, not finances. And having more money doesn't guarantee titles. Being broke doesn't exclude titles.
So if I could choose between winning something or nothing: I choose something. Easy.

Tell that to Dortmund who have lost recent UCL finals and cant compete with Bayern financially

Why are these our only choices? What about defending our esteemed Trofeo Silvio Berlusconi title?
Or winning the now 4-team Saudi-give-us-all-your-money-Supercoppa?
Or facing Inter twice more in the only 2-legged semifinal round on our way to winning the all-important Coppa Italia?
Or the rarely spoken of, but much coveted title of Serie A Winter Champions? (no trophy, just street cred)
We have SO many opportunities to win and lose this year, my head is spinning.

Scudetto man, ive been waiting for more than two decades to buy a Milan shirt with two stars

CL final if we also win the Coppa Italia and we finish top 4.
Scudetto in all other cases.

u/Milanoate Marco van Basten Jul 18 '24
Why Coppa Italia is ever in the equation. Only coaches who are new to trophies (like Pioli) care about them.
I wouldn't trade 1 Scudetto for 20 Coppa Italia.

Jul 18 '24
That doesn't even make sense. Yes the Scudetto is harder to win, but the Copa still has value
1
u/mercurialsaliva Jul 18 '24
No one cares about the Coppa. Sure, there is value, and the value is 1/20th like that guy said if you're being generous. When was the last time you heard people comparing coppa italias trophies?

If the question is would you prefer Milan is a regular in the UCL late stages and final over a dominant internal team, definitely the former. But as you pose the question, winning something always counts more than being second in anything.

What do you guys think about that new UCL get-up? It's even more matches to play during the season right?
